Abstract

Educational administration is an important factor in determining the quality of educational provision. However, administrative practices in various educational institutions remain largely influenced by modern paradigms oriented toward organizational efficiency, while studies that comprehensively integrate Islamic values remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the concept of educational administration from an Islamic perspective based on the Qur’an, the Prophet’s hadith, and the thoughts of Islamic scholars, as well as to examine its implications for the management of Islamic educational institutions in the contemporary era. The study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were obtained from the Qur’an, authentic hadith, classical Islamic texts, scholarly books, and reputable journal articles discussing Islamic educational administration. The data were analyzed using content analysis through the stages of reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic educational administration is founded on the principles of tawhid, trustworthiness, justice, consultation, professionalism (itqan), accountability, and ihsan. These principles provide the foundation for all functions of educational administration, including planning, organizing, human resource management, directing, coordinating, supervising, financing, and educational evaluation. Educational administration from an Islamic perspective is oriented not only toward organizational effectiveness but is also regarded as a form of worship aimed at realizing the welfare of the Muslim community and producing individuals who possess faith, knowledge, and noble character. This study affirms that the integration of modern administrative theory and Islamic legal values can provide a conceptual foundation for developing the governance of Islamic educational institutions that is effective, professional, accountable, and imbued with the value of worship.

Abstract

Educational supervision is a strategic instrument for improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction. However, its implementation in various educational institutions remains predominantly oriented toward administrative and evaluative aspects and therefore does not yet fully support teachers’ comprehensive professional development. Moreover, existing supervision models generally adopt modern theories without systematically integrating Islamic values as their philosophical and operational foundations. This study aims to design the Integrative Islamic Educational Supervision Model (MSPI), which combines modern educational supervision theory with perspectives from the Qur’an, hadith, and the thoughts of Islamic education figures to improve the quality of PAI instruction. The study employed a qualitative approach using the literature research method through content analysis and conceptual synthesis of literature on educational supervision, Islamic educational management, instructional leadership, and the thoughts of Islamic education figures. The results produced the MSPI, which consists of four main components: normative and philosophical foundations; fundamental supervision values encompassing tawhid, amanah, ihsan, shura, justice, uswah hasanah, ta‘awun, and istiqamah; a supervision process comprising needs analysis, planning, observation, reflection, coaching, mentoring, spiritual development, evaluation, and follow-up; and outputs and impacts oriented toward improving teacher competence, strengthening an Islamic quality culture, and enhancing the quality of PAI instruction. This study concludes that the integration of modern supervision theory and the Islamic education paradigm produces a holistic supervision model, such that supervision functions not only as a mechanism for academic oversight but also as a continuous process of professional, spiritual, moral, and social development. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of an integrative supervision framework that can serve as a conceptual and operational foundation for developing PAI supervision practices in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Educational supervision is an important strategy for improving teacher professionalism and the quality of learning in schools. However, its implementation is still frequently oriented toward administrative assessment and has therefore not been able to provide optimal solutions to learning problems. This study aims to examine the concept of School Action Research (PTS)-based supervision, the relationship between supervision and PTS, its implementation stages, and its benefits in improving the quality of education. The study employed a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were obtained from various secondary sources, including books, scholarly journal articles, proceedings, and relevant laws and regulations, and were subsequently analyzed using content analysis. The results of the review indicate that PTS-based supervision integrates the teacher development process with systematic research activities through the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, evaluation, reflection, and follow-up. This approach helps teachers identify and resolve learning problems based on data while encouraging the development of a reflective, collaborative, and innovative school culture. This study concludes that PTS-based supervision can serve as an effective strategy for improving teachers’ professional competence, the quality of the learning process, and the quality of education on an ongoing basis. These findings provide a conceptual contribution to the development of academic supervision and practical implications for school principals and supervisors in implementing systematic, data-based teacher development oriented toward continuous improvement.

Abstract

The Qur'an is a Muslim's guide to life. One of the most monumental surahs of the Qur'an is Surah Al-'Ashr. The focus of this study is on the understanding of Surat Al-'Ashr which contains the concept of operation and principles of discipline in Islamic schools. The purpose of this study is to find out: 1) What is the value of teaching about disciplinary morals contained in Surah Al-Ashr? This type of research is a literature search. The subject matter is the concept of discipline from the point of view of Surah Al-'Ashr. The sources of information are the Quran and books, magazines and other writings that support it. The data collection methods used are documentary method and Maudhu'i method. Data validity uses source triangulation techniques. In addition, the material is analyzed using the interpretative method. The results of the study show that Surah Al 'ashr can be transformed into verses that show the concept of discipline in Islam, namely: time and faith. First, he must be good at managing/disciplining time well, while faith must be applied in the form of righteous deeds, amar ma'ruf, and patience. In doing charity, one must recognize Mujahada, Muraqaba, Muhasabah, Muaqobah and Istiqomah. The concept of discipline in the view of Surah Al'Ashr which the author concludes following the views of the mufassirin scholars is: Discipline in the sense of temporary consistency, trustworthiness, charity, mutual advice and patience.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of educational and interactive digital learning media for elementary school students in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), using the ADDIE model. The background of this research lies in the need for engaging learning media for elementary students, as digital media has been proven to enhance students’ interest, motivation, and comprehension of religious materials. The objective of this study is to produce interactive PAI learning video media that are valid, practical, and effective. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, storyboard and script design, interactive video development, implementation, and evaluation through expert validation and field testing. The developed media consist of interactive educational videos featuring narration, visual illustrations, animations, background music, and reflective questions. There were small-group trials involved 10 students, continued to 25 students in classroom trials. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 61.0, indicating a moderate initial level of understanding of the learning material. After the implementation of the interactive learning videos, the mean posttest score increased to 84.3. The average learning gain was 23.3 points. Expert validation yielded an average score of 3.70 on a 4-point scale (classified as highly feasible) in terms of content and media design. Field trials with students (individual, small-group, and full-class tests) demonstrated positive responses with average scores ranging from 3.40 to 3.50 (feasible category). There is qualitative evidence in the form of students' statements and examples of behavior. One of the students said “The learning video on Surah At-Tin is very interesting and easy to understand”. "An example of observable behavior is that students are able to recite Surah At-Tin properly and correctly." Overall, the media were assessed as valid, practical, and effective for teaching Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level. This interactive learning media can enhance students’ active engagement and motivation to learn, making it a viable and innovative alternative for religious learning in primary education.
