Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of the KoPI Lokal Islami (KLI) learning model, gender, and their interaction on 21st-century skills. This study used an experimental method through a factorial design. The study involved 174 students from Islamic elementary schools, divided into three treatment groups: 58 students in the KLI model, 58 in the cooperative learning (CL) model, and 58 in the direct instruction (DI) model. Among the participants, 88 were male, and 86 were female. Data were collected through tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires, all of which were validated by experts. Data analysis was conducted using a two-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey HSD and LSD tests, after normality and homogeneity tests were performed. The results showed that the KLI model significantly improved 21st-century skills (p=0.000) by creating a more contextual and meaningful learning experience. Significant differences were also found between male and female learners (p=0.039), with females, in general, being more focused on developing 21st-century skills at primary school age. The interaction between model and gender is not significant (p=0.799), indicating that these two factors influence 21st-century skills independently. This research makes an essential contribution to the design of learning models that are more relevant to current demands and can serve as a basis for educational policy recommendations in Islamic primary schools.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the implementation of Case-Based Learning (CBL) with a contextual approach to enhance students’ problem-solving skills in dynamic fluids. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest, involving 33 eleventh-grade students from a senior high school in Bandung. A 20-item essay test assessed five aspects of problem-solving skills based on Heller’s (1992) framework: visualize the problem, physics description, plan a solution, execute the plan and check and evaluate. Data analysis included N-gain, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and effect size (Cohen’s d). Results indicated that students’ problem-solving skills improved moderately across all aspects, with an average N-gain of 0.5. The Wilcoxon test revealed a significant increase in posttest scores (p < 0.05), and the effect size was very high (d = 2.6), indicating a strong impact of the intervention. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of CBL with a contextual approach is effective in enhancing students’ problem-solving skills, fostering deeper understanding, and promoting active engagement in learning dynamic fluids.

Abstract

This study explores the development and implementation of electronic learning materials with interactive reading, scaffolding, and modelling (IRTaMS) strategies to improve the knowledge and skills of prospective physics teachers in designing learning that refers to the 4C skills-oriented Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This study uses the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved 24 prospective teachers of the Physics Education Program at a university in West Kalimantan with a pre-experimental one-group pre-test–posttest design. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, attitude scales, knowledge tests, and skill assessment rubrics. Data analysis includes; analysis of the validity of learning products using Aiken's V coefficient from expert judges' scores, percentage analysis to determine the level of readability, Wilcoxon Test to measure the significance of the difference between pre-test and post-test (including pre-task and post-task), and analysis of the average N-Gain (<g>) to determine the extent of the increase in knowledge and skills of prospective teachers. The results of expert validation and user responses indicate that electronic learning materials with IRTaMS strategies have a high level of validity and readability. The results of the study also showed a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of prospective teachers in designing PBL-based physics learning oriented to 4C skills, as reflected in the N-Gain value in the medium to high category. Skills improvement includes the formulation of learning objectives, criteria for achieving learning objectives, teaching materials, assessment planning, media use, and learning stages. The research findings indicate that the integration of IRTaMS strategies in digital technology-based electronic learning materials has strong potential in strengthening the pedagogical competence of prospective physics teachers, although comparative exploration with a control group is still needed in further research. This study contributes to the development of digital learning innovations through practical and contextual approaches to support 21st-century physics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to answer research questions about: (a) Does the number of training sessions attended affect the modification skills of science teachers? and (b) Do additional activities affect the modification skills of science teachers? The study uses a qualitative method with a sequential explanatory approach using questionnaires and interviews as instruments. The subjects of this research are 12 elementary and junior high school science teachers who are members of subject teachers' deliberation groups. The results show that the teachers' ability to modify learning designs involving students is influenced by the number of training sessions and additional activities. The data indicates that the more teachers attend training sessions, the better they are at modifying learning materials involving students, meaning that training has a positive effect on improving the modification skills of science teachers. Conversely, the more additional activities teachers engage in, the lower their ability to modify learning materials involving students, indicating that excessive additional activities have a negative impact on the modification skills of science teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a literature review on physics practicum using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method and bibliometric analysis through visual mapping with the VOSviewer software. The focus of this research is on articles published between 2020 and 2025, with the keyword "Physics Practicum." A total of 122 articles were identified, with 14 selected for the literature review. The results indicate that the number of publications on physics practicum decreased from 2020 to 2023, increased in 2024, and then declined again in 2025. The study also reveals that both conventional and digital technologies, such as Arduino-based sensors, smartphone applications, wireless sensor networks, as well as advanced technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and e-learning platforms, have enhanced the effectiveness of physics practicum. However, significant research gaps remain, particularly in the development of worksheets and assessment tools that provide a holistic evaluation of psychomotor skills and overall practicum performance. The bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer highlights keyword mapping that clusters aspects of methodology, evaluation, technology, and external factors such as the pandemic, offering valuable insights for future development of physics practicum.
