Abstract

Constructivism in learning is a philosophy that holds where the process of forming knowledge in individuals is the result of mental activity supported by the process of learning experience. Many studies have been conducted on the effect of constructivism theory on learning outcomes, but few have quantifies the effect so that it can be analyzed qualitatively. Therefore,  the purpose of this research was to quantify the effect size of the relationship between constructivism theory and student learning outcomes using meta-analytic research and data analysis techniques with openMEE software. Data was collected from Scopus and Google Scholar for 17 articles published in 2019 till 2022. Based on the analysis, In terms of the effectiveness of constructivism learning theory, an estimated data of 1.548 is obtained which indicates that constructivist theory has great effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. In addition, the effect size measurement at the primary and secondary levels of education indicates that the student is in high category. This explains why constructivism learning is very well implemented because children at this level are already able to be encouraged to construct their own knowledge which influences their learning outcomes.

Abstract

Developing students' abilities in science is one of the successful means of increasing their ability to adapt to changing times and enter the world of science, environment, technology, and social life. This study aims to analyze the application of the SETS vision of a constructivist approach to science learning in Class X SMA Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar . SETS (science, environment, technology and society) insightful learning that connects and links the theory learned with its application in the form of technology, its impact on society and the environment as well as social is a form of business that has real and contextual characteristics . This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling technique which was divided into 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test. The results of the study found that the use of animated video-based learning media was very effective in applying to the physics learning process in terms of the posttest questions and the gain test scores also increased by 0.71 in the experimental class and 0.57 in the control class which was included in the medium category. So it can be concluded that the constructivism learning model is effective in improving physics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of cultures so it has a variety of local knowledge related to natural knowledge that can be used as a study of scientific knowledge. Local knowledge of natural knowledge is known as ethnoscience. Integration of ethnosciences into science learning can facilitate the various skills possessed by students. This study aims to analyze the effects of ethnoscience approaches in science learning. This research is a meta-analysis study. Research data were obtained by searching for national articles and international articles in 2017-2021 based on predetermined criteria, namely having data pretest and posttest. The search was carried out on google scholar with the keyword "ethnoscience", "science education", "biology education", "chemical education", "physical education", and "local culture". Next, as many as 26 articles were analyzed by measuring the size of the article effect. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, the results show that the ethnoscience approach in science learning has a positive influence on improving students' abilities and is effectively used in the learning process of science 1.12 with a high category. Knowing the effects of the ethnoscience approach in science learning, it can be a choice of approach that realizes the purpose of learning science in schools and becomes one of the forums for preserving local culture for the next generation

Abstract

Abstract

A very basic concept in the traditional Toba Batak kinship organization is the clan. Marga is a group of people who come from the same grandfather and follow the lineage from the father which is called patrilineal. Toba Batak customs are connected by a red thread that is tied in a kinship relationship "Dalihan natolu ". This study aims to analyze multidimensional science education in the ethnoscience of Dalihan Na Tolu in the perspective of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. This study is a literature study (library research) with data sources from previous research articles on topics related to science education, science concepts, ethnoscience, and Dalihan natolu .The literature review method is by searching for Discopus literature for the 2017-2022 year using keywords or the keywords Dalihan natolu . The stages of literature are carried out in a simple manner, namely: (1) Searching and presenting literature, (2) Literacy analysis process, (3) Article preparation. The stages of literature are carried out in a simple manner, namely: (1) Searching and presenting literature, (2) Literacy analysis process, (3) Article preparation. The results of the study show that (1) the nature of learning science can be classified into three dimensions, namely science as a product, science as a process, and science as an attitude; (2) Dalihan Na Tolu Dalihan Na Tolu is a philosophy that is an integral part of the life of the Toba Batak people (3) ethnoscience Dalihan Na Tolu contains the concept of kinship and can be integrated into the concept of science such as Biology, Mathematics and Physics (4) several learning models with an ethnoscience approach can improve conceptual understanding, science process skills, conservation attitudes, and students' creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

The learning process is gradual, starting from simple to complex, with an emphasis on the use of learning media such as LKPD. One learning model that can be used to vary the LKPD is the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. This model can increase student engagement and interaction while increasing their drive to learn biology concepts. The aim of this research is to evaluate the validity and practicality of PjBL-based LKPD. The research method is meta-analysis, which is a technique that involves the collection of related articles from relevant sources, namely Google Scholar. Fifteen artivles related to the development of PjBL-based LKPD. Based on the results of the analysis, the development of PjBL-based LKPD meets the criteria of being very valid and very practical so it is suitable for use in learning. The research findings produced an average practicality score of 89.71% in the very practical category and an average validity score of 89.58% in the very valid category.
