Abstract

Teachers have an essential role in preparing students for Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) or Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM). It takes preparation, readiness, and a good teacher's perception of the AKM so that the implementation of this program goes well. This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions in secondary schools related to the opportunities and challenges of implementing AKM. A total of 66 secondary school science teachers participated as respondents in this study. Respondents in this study were randomly selected based on their willingness to fill out a given survey. The data collection instruments were six open-ended questions. This instrument is distributed online using Google Forms. The data obtained were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study reveal that the majority of science teachers have the perception that AKM policy is appropriate and suitable for implementation. However, the availability of supporting facilities and ICT literacy of students and teachers is considered a challenge that must be met. On the other hand, AKM and National Assessment (NA) are considered opportunities to improve the quality of education both nationally and locally in schools. This research is expected to reference the perception of science teachers about the challenges and opportunities for implementing AKM policies in junior high schools

Abstract

This study aims to know and describe the application of problem-based learning integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics or commonly known as PBL-STEM on Simple Machine Topic to Improve Critical Thinking Skills. The method used in this research is qualitative research with data collection techniques, namely literature studies. The process of collecting data in this study is by looking for theoretical references that are relevant to the problems found. The data obtained is then analyzed with descriptive analysis methods. Based on the analysis of the data used, the result showed an increase in critical thinking skills owned by students, which can be seen from the N-gain score obtained. These results are also supported by other relevant studies. Based on a literature review, it can be concluded that the application of PBL-STEM on simple machine subjects can improve critical thinking skills

Abstract

Scientific literacy skills are one of the needs of students in the 21st century which is experiencing very fast changes. This study aims to determine the characteristics, feasibility, and effectiveness of the guided inquiry-based E-temperature and heat module in improving students' scientific literacy. The learning steps in the E-module are structured with guided inquiry syntax which is integrated with scientific literacy indicators. The type of research used is research and development using the Borg and Gall model which is modified into 9 stages, namely: 1) preliminary research and information gathering, 2) planning, 3) initial product development, 4) initial product testing, 5) initial product revision. 6) limited trial phase, 7) second product revision, 8) operational trial, 9) final product revision. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis to describe the characteristics of the E-module, the feasibility analysis of the E-module based on the criteria score, and the analysis of the effectiveness of the E-module to improve students' scientific literacy based on the N-gain score. The results showed that the temperature and heat E-module has been successfully developed according to the guided inquiry model to improve students' scientific literacy, the guided inquiry-based temperature, and heat E-module is very suitable for use in learning, and the guided inquiry-based temperature and heat e-module is effective in improving the scientific literacy of students with a high category N-gain score.

Abstract

The study aims to develop a quantum learning-based learning instrument on hydrocarbon and petroleum; determine the feasibility of quantum learning-based learning instrument on hydrocarbon and petroleum, and determine the effectiveness of quantum learning-based learning instrument on hydrocarbon and petroleum to improve student's learning outcomes. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The product developed consists of a syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment instruments. The validation results were analyzed using Aiken's validation obtained a validity coefficient of more than 0.80 or categorized as valid and suitable for use. The effectiveness test results were analyzed using SPSS22 obtained t-count > t-table, so it could conclude that quantum learning-based learning tools on hydrocarbon and petroleum materials were effective for improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

There are problems in SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta where student’s critical thinking skills are still low and need to be improved. Thissresearch and development.aims to find.out the effectiveness of lesson.plan integrated.STEM in material temperature and its changes to improve student’s critical thinking. This research using 4D.research procedure by Thiagarajan. Phase 4D consists of defining,.designing,.developing, and disseminating. The subjects of the study were class VII in odd semester 2021/2022 academic year in SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta which were divided into 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class by using a sampling technique that was simple random sampling. Data analysis in this research was analysis of improvement of critical thinking skill through N-gain test. The results shows that theelesson plan integrated STEM is effective in improving critical thinking skills because the average of experimental.class is.higher thannthe control class.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul fisika suhu dan kalor berbasis project based learning dan mengetahui efektivitas modul fisika suhu dan kalor berbasis project based learning. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development). Merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan mengembangkan suatu produk berupa modul pembelajaran fisika pada materi suhu dan kalor berbasis project based learning. Langkah pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul fisika divalidasi oleh validator ahli dan peer reviewer. Berdasarkan hasil validasi oleh validator materi memberikan nilai 2,9 dengan kategori baik, validator media 3,6 berkategori sangat baik, validator pembelajaran 3,0 berkategori baik dan validator bahasa 3,8 berkategori sangat baik.  Dan hasil validasi peer reviewer memberikan nilai 2,9 dengan kategori baik. Hasil uji pakai user yaitu siswa kelas X MIA MA Al Islam Surakarta memberikan nilai 3,6 dengan kategori sangat baik.  Sehingga menunjukkan bahwa modul fisika berbasis project based learning pada materi suhu dan kalor layak digunakan dan modul fisika dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara efektif. Untuk penilaian aspek kognitif terbukti dari n-gain nilai hasil evaluasi yang telah dilakukan oleh siswa. Keterampilan proses sains indikator observasi mempunyai gain 0,5 dengan kategori sedang, interpretasi 0,4 berkategori rendah, merencanakan eksperimen 0,7 berkategori tinggi, prediksi 0,5 berkategori sedang, aplikasi 0,5 berkategori sedang, evaluasi 0,8 berkategori tinggi. Kemampuan berpikir kritis indikator mensintesis mempunyai gain 0,5 berkategori sedang, menganalisis 0,9 berkategori sangat tinggi, mengenal masalah 0,6 berkategori sedang, memecahkan masalah 0,6 berkategori sedang, menyimpulkan 0,5 berkategori sedang, mengevaluasi 0,8 berkategori tinggi. Untuk penilaian aspek keterampilan kelompok 1 dengan nilai 3,33 dengan kategori sangat berhasil, kelompok 2 dengan nilai 3,56 dengan kategori sangat berhasil, kelompok 3 dengan nilai 3,44 dengan kategori sangat berhasil. Untuk penilaian aspek sikap rata-rata keseluruhan siswa berskor 3,2 dengan kategori baik.AbstractResearch carried out aims to determine the feasibility of physics module temperature and heat-based project-based learning and examine the effectiveness of physics module temperature and heat-based project-based learning. This study included research and development (Research and Development). Is a descriptive study to develop a product in the form of physics learning module on material temperature and heat-based project-based learning. Step ADDIE development model. The results showed that the physics module validator validated by experts and peer reviewers. Based on the results of validation by the validator material provides good value to the category 2.9, 3.6 media validator excellent category, validator well categorized and learning 3.0 3.8 language validators very good category. And peer validation results give a value of 2.9 with either category. The test results that the user use the class X MIA MA Al Islam Surakarta give a value of 3.6 with a very good category. Thus indicating that the module is a physics-based project-based learning on the temperature and heat decent material used and the physical modules can enhance science process skills and critical thinking abilities of students effectively. For the assessment of cognitive aspects evident from a then-gain value of the evaluations that have been done by the students. Science process skills of observation indicator have a gain of 0.5 with a category, the interpretation of low category 0.4, 0.7 high category planned experiment, the prediction was 0.5 categories, medium category 0.5 application, evaluation 0.8 high categories. Critical thinking skills to synthesize indicators having moderate gain of 0.5 categories, analyzing the 0.9 categories is very high, recognize the problem category were 0.6, 0.6 category troubleshoot medium category were concluded 0.5, 0.8 evaluating high category, For the assessment of skills aspects of group 1 with a value of 3.33 with a very successful category, group 2 with a value of 3.56 with a very successful category, group 3 with a value of 3.44 with a very successful category. For the assessment aspect of the overall average attitude of students a value of 3.2 with either category.

Abstract

Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) merupakan bagian dari Asesmen Nasional yang merepresentasikan survey pengetahuan siswa dan kualitas Pendidikan Nasional. Pada AKM diukur kompetensi berpikir atau bernalar siswa ketika membaca teks (literasi) dan menghadapi persoalan yang membutuhkan pengetahuan matematika (numerasi). Selama ini guru-guru biasa menyusun instrumen tes yang berorientasi pada penguasaan materi, dan belum terbiasa untuk mengembangkan instrumen yang berorientasi pada literasi membaca dan numerasi. Terlebih, pada guru-guru Kimia yang dianggap memiliki kontribusi kecil pada keterampilan literasi dan numerasi. Oleh karena itu, pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penguatan kemampuan guru-guru kimia SMA di Kota Surakarta dalam menyiapkan instrumen AKM literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis sains kimia.  Kegiatan pengabdian akan dilakukan melalui pelatihan dengan bentuk penyuluhan, focus group discussion (FGD) dan pendampingan menyusun butir-butir soal instrumen literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis konteks sains kimia. Sebanyak 33 orang guru kimia dari Surakarta berpartisipasi aktif sebagai peserta pelatihan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi terhadap program pengabdian yang dilakukan, sebanyak 63.6% peserta sangat setuju, dan 36.4% peserta setuju bahwa kegiatan yang dilakukan sangat sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Selain itu, sebanyak 72.7% peserta sangat setuju, dan 27.3% setuju bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka untuk mengembangkan instrumen literasi membaca dan numerasi berbasis sains kimia. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi para guru kimia dan bidang lainnya untuk dapat mengembangkan instrumen AKM berbasis konteks materi pelajaran

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of natural science modules with discovery learning to enhance students' critical thinking skills in the topic of material classification and its changes. Critical thinking skills are one of the essential skills of the 21st century and are needed in various fields. Students with high critical thinking skills in general also can calculate various possibilities so that they can make decisions by applying logical thinking. Discovery learning trains students to build knowledge and develop student competencies independently. The research method was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent pretest and posttest control groups design. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling. The research instrument used a test of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was carried out with a different power test (t-test) to determine the difference between the experimental and control classes, and an N-Gain calculation was done to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning module. The results showed a difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class. The N-Gain result of the experimental class was 0.59, with a moderate category, and the control class was 0.31, with a moderate category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of project-based Moodle science learning integration on the city noise theme. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted in three junior high schools in the city of Semarang in the even semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. Based on the results of the study, teachers in each school responded positively to the use of Moodle science learning integration with the theme of city noise because the content in it was following the needs of teachers in science learning. In the first and second project assignments, there were only 10 students each who submitted their assignments. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of project-based Moodle science learning integration on the theme of city noise is following the needs of science learning in schools, but has not been able to increase student activity optimally in the science learning process. Constraints found in the use of project-based integration of moodle science learning on the theme of city noise online are limited infrastructure, internet quota, learning time, low student interest and motivation, and lack of parental supervision in the implementation process

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content of the STEAM aspect in the chemistry textbook for class XI. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection in this study used content analysis techniques. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data sources used are the Chemistry Book for SMA/MA Class XI Specialization in Mathematics and Natural Sciences published by Erlangga in 2016 as book A, Experiment-based Chemistry Student Book published by Tiga Serangkai in 2014 as book B, and Chemistry Student Books for SMA/MA Class XI publisher Intan Pariwara in 2016 as book C. Basic Competencies analyzed in the three books, namely Hydrocarbon Compounds and Petroleum represent KD which are conceptual-theoretical, Reaction Rate represents KD which is mathematical, and Chemical Equilibrium represents KD which is abstract-complex. The results showed that books A, B, and C already contained all aspects of STEAM in various basic competencies. The contents of STEAM aspects in book A are 80 statements, book B are 85 statements, and book C are 121 statements. In Books A and C, the aspects of STEAM that are mostly covered are the mathematical aspects, while the aspects that are mostly published in Book B are the science aspects. The aspects of STEAM that are least contained in books A and B are the artistic aspects, while in book C are the technical and artistic aspects. Thus, in books A, B, and C, the artistic aspect has a low amount of load. Research on the content of STEAM and HOTS aspects needs to be carried out in more depth with a different approach regarding the integration of STEAM and HOTS aspects, especially in textbooks and other learning resources.
