Abstract

Collaborative learning is important because it can enhance student engagement and support the development of critical thinking skills. However, to implement it effectively, teachers require guidance in designing and executing these teaching strategies. This study aims to explore the role of academic supervision in strengthening teachers' competencies in collaborative learning at SD Negeri 03 Wukirsawit. The study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The findings show that academic supervision conducted systematically and continuously has a positive impact on teachers' competencies. Teachers reported an improvement in their ability to design more interactive learning activities that support collaboration among students. Additionally, academic supervision also promotes reflective guidance, helping teachers address challenges in implementing collaborative learning. Another positive impact is seen in the higher student engagement in group activities, leading to a better understanding of the material. This study concludes that academic supervision plays a crucial role in strengthening teachers' competencies and enhancing the quality of collaborative learning. Through structured and continuous supervision, teachers are able to design and implement more effective lessons, which ultimately improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze challenges and formulate strategies in implementing elementary school curriculum in Special Education Schools (SLB). Using a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study examines various current literature sources regarding curriculum implementation in special education schools. The results show that the main challenges include gaps between the national curriculum and specific needs of students with special needs, limited teacher competency in curriculum adaptation, and suboptimal learning support infrastructure. Approximately 70% of special education schools experience difficulties in curriculum adaptation, while only 45% of teachers have comprehensive understanding of curriculum adaptation processes for children with special needs. Recommended optimization strategies include developing differentiation-based curriculum adaptation models, strengthening teacher professional development programs, and enhancing stakeholder collaboration. The implementation of these strategies requires a systematic approach and adaptive policy support to create a sustainable and quality special education ecosystem

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to elucidate the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in fostering entrepreneurial skills among elementary school students and to analyze its impact on the development of those skills, particularly through the utilization of pine fruit waste. Methodology: A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was applied. Data were gathered using interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research subjects included the school principal, three classroom teachers (grades 4–6), nine students, and supporting documents such as P5 modules and student project outcomes. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of techniques and sources. Results: The study found that the implementation of P5, from planning to execution, was conducted effectively. The project significantly contributed to students' entrepreneurial competence, including creativity, decision-making, problem-solving, independence, and collaboration. Key success factors included strong involvement of school leadership, teacher engagement, the formation of positive habits, and parental support. However, challenges were noted in areas such as teachers’ limited understanding of P5, technological adaptation, student skill variation, and marketing of products. Applications/Originality/Value: This research provides a practical reference for integrating entrepreneurship within character education using local resources. It demonstrates how the P5 framework can serve as a strategic vehicle for instilling 21st-century competencies in elementary school students through project-based learning rooted in contextual relevance.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the implementation of inclusive education at SD Negeri Bromantakan, Surakarta, by exploring its cultural, policy, and practical dimensions. It seeks to identify the progress and challenges in promoting inclusivity for students with special needs. Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed, using interviews, observations, and document reviews to collect in-depth data. The Index for Inclusion was used as an evaluative framework to analyze school policies, cultural attitudes, and inclusive practices. Participants included teachers, school principals, and parents. Results: The findings reveal that the school has taken significant steps toward inclusivity, such as increasing learning time for students with special needs and encouraging parental involvement. However, major barriers persist, including discriminatory attitudes, weak inter-stakeholder collaboration, a shortage of Special Education Teachers (GPK), and limited teacher training. Although the school has implemented group seating arrangements and student-centered strategies under the Merdeka Curriculum, these efforts require further development. Applications/Originality/Value: This study underscores the need for enhanced teacher capacity building, deeper parental engagement, and policy refinement to support inclusive education. The research contributes valuable insights into the current state of inclusive practices in Indonesian primary schools and offers strategic recommendations for improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the shadow teacher’s role in the learning process of slow learners in elementary school. The research design used was a pretest-posttest control group design involving four fifth-grade slow learner students who were selected through purposive sampling at MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar. The research instruments consisted of academic tests, questionnaires, and observations to measure changes in academic achievement and students' perceptions of learning through shadow teachers. The analysis results showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t = -5.10, df = 3, p = 0.015), indicating that special assistance was effective in improving students' learning outcomes. Furthermore, the questionnaire results revealed that students experienced positive changes in understanding, motivation, and confidence in learning. This study provides strong empirical support for implementing shadow teachers as an effective strategy in inclusive education for slow learner students in elementary schools.

Abstract

The field of science that is considered an important basis for everyone is mathematics, because of its widespread application to various disciplines of knowledge. However, many students experience obstacles in following math lessons. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of math learning with the "gasing" method using flashcards and number blocks for students with dyscalculia. This article is written using quantitative methods with a single subject experimental design using data collection techniques through purposive sampling techniques. The data collected are scores in the form of percentages. Data validity was tested using pretest and posttest. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. This study involved five students who were not in the same class, but still underwent the same intervention. The results showed that learning "spinning tops" using flashcards and number blocks in Baseline Phase A1 with a standard deviation of 10.95 and a standard error of the mean of 4.90. Then in Phase A2 it was seen to increase with a standard deviation of 8.94 and a standard error mean of 4.00. This is also seen in the bar graph which illustrates the increase in the average score of the A1 baseline phase pre-test and the A2 phase post-test after the experiment. The average pre-test score of 32 indicates the initial condition of students before receiving treatment then the average post-test score increased to 66 after students underwent learning with the "spinning top" method using flashcards and number blocks. Thus learning "gasing" using flashcards and number blocks has a significant effect in improving the math skills of students with dyscalculia.
