Abstract

Inclusive education is an approach that guarantees the fulfillment of educational rights for all students, including Children with Special Needs. This research aims to describe the role of inclusive education in building equality for children with special needs and the school's role in supporting this equality. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of non-participation observation and semi-structured interviews at SD Aisyiyah Unggulan Gemolong. The results showed that the implementation of inclusive education in the school involved the roles of the principal, classroom teachers, and special education teachers in facilitating the development of children with special needs. The principal acts as a leader, manager, educator, and supervisor; classroom teachers implement adaptive learning methods; while special education teachers provide assistance services 2-3 times a week. This research concludes that despite facing challenges of limited resources and infrastructure, collaboration between the principal, classroom teachers, and special education teachers can create an equal educational environment. This collaborative model offers a practical approach that can be adapted by other elementary schools in implementing inclusive education, while contributing to the development of more effective inclusive education strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop EMAR (Augmented Reality-Based Ethnomathematics) media and (2) determine the feasibility of EMAR media related to building materials for cube and block spaces through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and validation questionnaires. The results of the analysis show that students have difficulties in understanding the materials of building spaces, so more creative learning media is needed. The product developed is an EMAR application which contains materials that are characteristic and volume of building space. The validation results by material experts reached 85.5% and by media experts 92.2%, both in the very feasible category. In addition, the results of the independent t-test showed a significant difference between the post-test scores of students who used EMAR media and those who did not, with a significance value of 0.033, indicating that this media was effective in improving students' spatial reasoning. This research is expected to increase students' understanding of space building materials in a fun and relevant way.

Abstract

The development of student character has become a primary concern in the field of education, particularly in instilling the values of discipline from an early age. One relevant approach in this effort is the Moral Knowing approach, which emphasizes the importance of moral understanding and knowledge in shaping behavior. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Moral Knowing approach in shaping students' discipline character at SDN 02 Ngadiluwih. This approach is believed to foster students' moral awareness as a foundation for acting in accordance with prevailing values. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of school activities. The research subjects consisted of classroom teachers, students, and the principal. Data were analyzed through the processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Moral Knowing approach is implemented through various strategies, such as habituation of morning and afternoon routines, teacher role modeling, use of visual media like character value posters, and student involvement in extracurricular activities that emphasize discipline, such as Scouts. Through these activities, students not only learn the meaning of discipline but also understand the moral reasons behind it and demonstrate more orderly behavior in both academic and social activities. The conclusion of this study is that the Moral Knowing approach is effective in shaping students’ discipline character through the enhancement of moral awareness, the reinforcement of values, and consistent habituation within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to, (1) Develop the Genially learning media on the topic of volume for cuboid and rectangular prism in elementary schools, and (2) Assess the feasibility level of the Genially learning media named "Volkuba" in the subject of mathematics. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which aims to develop and produce a product. This study is limited to the validation testing phase, with data collection techniques using observation and validation sheets from media and content experts. The validation results show that this media has a high feasibility percentage, namely 81.6% for content experts and 94.4% for media experts. Based on these results, the Genially "Volkuba" media is highly feasible to be used as a learning tool for volume topics in elementary school mathematics. Based on pretest and posttest data, this media has proven to be effective in improving students' understanding. The experimental group that used this media showed significant improvement, with some students reaching the maximum posttest score, while the control group showed smaller improvement. The interactive features and 3D visualization in Genially allow students to better understand the concepts of spatial shapes. This media also provides immediate feedback through quizzes and exercises, helping students quickly improve their understanding. Overall, the Genially "Volkuba" media has proven to be effective and suitable for use in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The importance of academic supervision in supporting the professional development of teachers, especially at the elementary school level, plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education. This study aims to describe teachers' perspectives on the implementation of academic supervision using classroom visitation techniques in elementary schools, as well as to understand the impact of supervision on enhancing teachers' professional competence. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, direct observations during the implementation of academic supervision, and related documentation. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify key patterns in teachers' understanding of academic supervision. The results show that most teachers view classroom visitation supervision as a positive form of development, but there are challenges in terms of openness and follow-up. Other challenges include time limitations, high administrative burdens, and variation in the quality of feedback from supervisors. Supervision conducted in a participatory and continuous manner has been proven to be more effective in helping teachers improve teaching methods and enhance the quality of teaching in the classroom.

Abstract

Collaborative learning is important because it can enhance student engagement and support the development of critical thinking skills. However, to implement it effectively, teachers require guidance in designing and executing these teaching strategies. This study aims to explore the role of academic supervision in strengthening teachers' competencies in collaborative learning at SD Negeri 03 Wukirsawit. The study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The findings show that academic supervision conducted systematically and continuously has a positive impact on teachers' competencies. Teachers reported an improvement in their ability to design more interactive learning activities that support collaboration among students. Additionally, academic supervision also promotes reflective guidance, helping teachers address challenges in implementing collaborative learning. Another positive impact is seen in the higher student engagement in group activities, leading to a better understanding of the material. This study concludes that academic supervision plays a crucial role in strengthening teachers' competencies and enhancing the quality of collaborative learning. Through structured and continuous supervision, teachers are able to design and implement more effective lessons, which ultimately improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze challenges and formulate strategies in implementing elementary school curriculum in Special Education Schools (SLB). Using a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study examines various current literature sources regarding curriculum implementation in special education schools. The results show that the main challenges include gaps between the national curriculum and specific needs of students with special needs, limited teacher competency in curriculum adaptation, and suboptimal learning support infrastructure. Approximately 70% of special education schools experience difficulties in curriculum adaptation, while only 45% of teachers have comprehensive understanding of curriculum adaptation processes for children with special needs. Recommended optimization strategies include developing differentiation-based curriculum adaptation models, strengthening teacher professional development programs, and enhancing stakeholder collaboration. The implementation of these strategies requires a systematic approach and adaptive policy support to create a sustainable and quality special education ecosystem
