Abstract

This study aims to explore Indonesian language learning innovation based on Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in grade 4 elementary school. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research was conducted at SDN 03 Tunggulrejo with the principal and fourth grade teacher as the subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity using triangulation of sources and techniques. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed that the form of differentiated Indonesian learning innovation based on TaRL includes: (1) initial ability tests; (2) student grouping based on initial ability tests; (3) teaching materials or materials according to the needs and readiness of students (4) varied learning methods to meet the needs of diverse students; (5) varied media and learning resources (contextual and technology-based) to meet the needs and learning styles of diverse students; (6) formative tests to determine material understanding according to student abilities It is concluded that the TaRL approach emphasizes differentiation in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning to suit the needs and abilities of diverse students.

Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies for utilizing social media to improve independent learning skills among elementary school students. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey design involving 100 sixth-grade students in Karanganyar District, Ngawi Regency. The research instrument was a questionnaire with 15 indicators whose validity and reliability have been tested. The results show that the targeted use of social media significantly contributes to improving independent learning skills, particularly in aspects such as consistency in searching for materials, time management, and learning motivation. However, the ability to sort information is still low, so students' digital literacy needs to be strengthened. The conclusion of this study confirms that social media can be an effective tool for encouraging student independent learning when supported by appropriate learning strategies.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an explanation of creative methods for inclusive education, especially for students at the Sukoharjo State Special Elementary School who prioritize motor skills and the ability to interact with other people. Data was collected through interviews and observations, and qualitative methods were used to compile this article. Literature review is the basis of process analysis. The findings from this study indicate that educators have the potential to enhance the utilization of educational resources, objectives, tools, techniques, assessments, and learning atmospheres through the implementation of innovative teaching methods. Diverse instructional approaches, ranging from remedial and deductive to inductive and heuristic techniques, can be employed to accommodate elementary-level students with special needs. Collaborative learning, behavior modification, and other methods are also beneficial. Moreover, it is suggested that teachers explore alternative learning aids like puzzles to cater to the unique needs of these students.

Abstract

This study aims to find the ideal concept in creating an excellent inclusive culture in implementing inclusive education. The method used was qualitative with phenomenological design. Collecting data through interviews, participant observation, documentation, and focus group discussions (FGDs). The data analysis technique used was Cresswell's theory which states that: reduction, data display, and concluding. The study results show five development steps: First, the cultivation of values in the school environment starts from the classroom using a balanced collaboration between the verbal explanation of the material and its application in daily life. Second, habituation of behavior patterns that are carried out to deal with cases encountered in the field requires them to solve them. Third, an intervention or an action taken in the form of treatment of students' emotional problems. Fourth, exemplary for all school members and residents at home. Fifth, a persuasive approach or subtly inviting school members to create an inclusive culture through parenting activities, capacity building, workshops, and FGDs

Abstract

Tujuan  penelitian  ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peran shadow teacher dalam mengoptimalkan pembelajaran pada peserta didik slow learner di Sekolah Inklusif SD Inklusif & untuk menganalisis tantangan dan strategi yang dihadapi oleh shadow teacher dalam menjalankan perannya di sekolah inklusi SD Inklusif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang menjelaskan data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dan mendeskripsikan apa adanya. Pengumpulan data melibatkan 4 teknik yaitu wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan kajian literatur. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman terdiri dari tiga fase yaitu reduksi data, tampilan data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peran penting shadow teacher dalam memberikan dukungan individual dan pengarahan khusus kepada anak ABK khususnya bagi anak slow learner. Berawal dari kepekaan guru kelas dalam mengenali karakteristik anak dengan slow learner, koordinasi dengan guru pendamping khusus, asesmen dan konsultasi dengan didampingi guru kelas, shadow teacher atau guru pendamping khusus, dan orang tua, hingga tahapan penanganan yang tepat yang harus dilakukan guna menindaklanjuti anak dengan slow learner. Implikasi penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang strategi dan praktik yang efektif dalam meningkatkan inklusif dan partisipasi anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam konteks pendidikan inklusif.

Abstract

The creation of good relations between family members during the COVID-19 pandemic is considered important to accommodate the learning needs of autistic children as during the pandemic, they are not able to learn optimally. This study aims to establish the role of family counseling in handling autistic children during at-home learning. The research uses a qualitative case study design. The informants were parents and core families of autistic children, and data collection involved interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis techniques employed were inductive analysis through reduction, data description, data coding, interpretation, and conclusions. The results show that the involvement of family members took place on a scheduled basis, relations between them improve, and making independent. The passion for building self-potential by developing a sense of respect for family members who help with autistic children's activities when learning from home. Family counseling through the involvement of family members can have a positive effect on the behavioral development of autistic children and a beneficial impact on other family members. The implication is that family counseling can be applied to help the social-emotional development of autistic children.

Abstract

In response to the rising mental health issues among students, higher education institutions are called to adopt more comprehensive strategies for supporting mental well-being. While there is significant research on mental health in higher education, studies focusing on integrating holistic education to promote mental health remain limited. This research aims to explore how holistic education can transform higher education and create a mental health-friendly campus environment. A qualitative approach was used, including in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observations of holistic education practices. The study involved 42 students, 14 lecturers, 5 administrators, and 2 counseling staff members. Data were validated through triangulation, ensuring reliability. The findings suggest that creating a mental health-friendly campus begins with open mental health policies. Integrating holistic education into curricula and support systems is crucial for improving academic performance and social engagement. This approach encourages active student participation, making learning more relevant to real life. Additionally, fostering a campus culture focused on mental health, involving students in activities, and building community is essential. The study also stresses the importance of raising awareness of mental health and the role of lecturers in supporting students' well-being.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the manifestation of the character of environmental care in the project to strengthen Pancasila student profile in the independent curriculum. This study was qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this study were 2 schools, namely elementary school or Sekolah Dasar (SD) Muhammadiyah 1 Ketelan and SD Negeri Karangasem 1. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Triangulation of sources and methods was conducted to ensure the validity of the data. The data that have been collected were subsequently analyzed in the phase of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that the project to strengthen Pancasila student profile in manifesting the character of environmental care has been implemented in these 2 schools. It can be observed in the implementation of sustainable lifestyle projects that are relevant to the Pancasila student profile strengthening project (P5) module, including recycling waste to create business opportunities, reducing plastic waste through the creation of eco-bricks, and processing organic waste into compost, managing waste banks, utilizing the environment as a learning resource and minimizing the use of drinking bottles by using personal tumblers.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are skills that are needed in the face of rapid technological development. The level of critical thinking skills in mathematics learning needs to be researched to analyze the extent to which the culture of critical thinking skills has been carried out. This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking skills of 5th graders in mathematics learning. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were grade 5 students at SD Negeri 1 Miricinde, as many as 15 students. This study uses a written test in the form of a description question. The data obtained are then analyzed by correcting students' answers. Critical thinking skill instruments contain aspects of critical thinking skills developed by including aspects: providing explanations simply, determining the basis of decision making, concluding, providing further explanations, estimating and combining. The results of the data analysis obtained, 26.7% of students have low critical thinking skills, 46.7% of students have sufficient critical thinking skills, 20% of students have high critical thinking skills, and 6.7% of students have very high critical thinking skills. So it can be concluded that the 5th grade students of Miricinde State Elementary School 1 have a sufficient level of category critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang metode kreatif untuk pendidikan inklusi, khususnya untuk siswa di Sekolah Dasar Luar Biasa Negeri Sukoharjo yang memprioritaskan keterampilan motorik dan kemampuan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi, dan metode kualitatif digunakan untuk menyusun artikel ini. Tinjauan pustaka adalah dasar analisis proses. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang kreatif untuk meningkatkan penggunaan materi pembelajaran, sasaran, alat, metode, evaluasi, dan lingkungan pembelajaran siswa, berbagai strategi pembelajaran dapat digunakan oleh siswa ABK di tingkat dasar, termasuk pengajaran remedial, deduktif, induktif, heuristik, ekspositori, klasikal, kooperatif, dan perubahan perilaku. Disarankan kepada guru untuk mengeksplorasi media pembelajaran bagi siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus seperti teka-teki.
