Abstract

Reasoning has been extensively studied by many experts. However, Research on student reasoning in trigonometric problem solving, particularly those related to logical thinking skills is still sorely needed. This study aimed to explore students' reasoning in solving trigonometric function problems regarding logical thinking skills. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach. The research subjects involved high school students in Palopo, Indonesia. Based on the logical ability test results, three subjects were selected, namely students with high, medium, and low logical abilities. Research instruments in mathematical problem-solving tasks and interview guidelines are valid and reliable. Data collection was carried out through task-based interviews and think-aloud. The results of the study: (1) the reasoning subjects with high and moderate logical abilities in solving trigonometric function problems are the same in every type of question, always starting with inductive reasoning and then doing deductive reasoning (2) the reasoning of subjects with high and medium logical abilities is different in solving trigonometric function problems in the initial identification. Subjects with low logical ability showed no mental activity in solving trigonometric function problems. The research finding is that the subject has a high logical ability and is solving trigonometric function problems first by inductive reasoning and then deductive reasoning. In general, it is concluded that students with high and moderate logical abilities use inductive and deductive thinking patterns interchangeably in solving trigonometric function problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the behavior of coffee collectors in increasing the selling value of coffee for farmers in Kebun Tebu District, West Lampung Regency. The main issue raised is the dependence of farmers on collectors, which leads to suboptimal selling prices of coffee. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants in this study included coffee collectors, coffee farmers, and representatives of the farmers’ association. The results show that collectors have sufficient knowledge regarding coffee quality standards, market prices, and the impact of post-harvest processes on selling value. In practice, collectors play a crucial role as intermediaries between farmers and broader markets. Their strategies to increase coffee value include educating farmers, sorting, drying, and packaging coffee. However, several challenges remain, such as price fluctuations, lack of transparency in pricing, and the uneven understanding among farmers regarding coffee quality. This study recommends the development of a more transparent distribution system and ongoing training for farmers to improve coffee quality and competitiveness. Establishing a fairer relationship between collectors and farmers is essential to enhancing the welfare of coffee farmers. Keywords: collector behavior, selling value, coffee, farmers, kebun tebu district.

Abstract

The production and smooth flow of breast milk (ASI) are critical factors in the success of exclusive breastfeeding. One natural approach to enhance milk flow is through the use of local food sources that function as galactagogues, such as papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.). Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of sautéed papaya leaves in improving breast milk flow among postpartum mothers at the Tameran Village Health Post (Poskesdes), Bengkalis Regency. Method: This research employed a pre-experimental design with a one- group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 14 postpartum mothers participated as respondents. Breast milk flow was measured before and after the intervention using an observation scale and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Results: Prior to the intervention, only 21.4% of the mothers experienced smooth breast milk flow, with a mean score of 4.36 (SD = 1.082). After consuming sautéed papaya leaves, the proportion of mothers with smooth milk flow increased to 64.3%, with a mean score of 5.64 (SD = 0.497). The Wilcoxon test yielded a p value of 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Sautéed papaya leaves have been proven effective in improving breast milk flow in postpartum mothers. The use of local food sources may serve as a non-pharmacological intervention at the primary healthcare level. Recommendation: It is recommended that health workers at Poskesdes and community health centers utilize papaya leaves as an educational alternative to support successful breastfeeding, and that further studies be conducted using experimental designs with comprehensive hormonal measurements. Keywords: Papaya Leaves, Breast Milk Flow, Postpartum Mothers

Abstract

Introduction: Injectable contraceptives are widely used due to their practicality, effectiveness, and affordability. However, their use is frequently associated with side effects, particularly weight gain, which may affect acceptor compliance. Previous studies suggest that long-term exposure to progestin in three-month injectable contraceptives can stimulate appetite through hypothalamic pathways and increase fat storage. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the duration of three-month injectable contraceptive use and weight gain among women of reproductive age in Karangsari Village, under the working area of Cikelet Public Health Center, Garut Regency. Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted in September–October 2024. The population consisted of 349 injectable contraceptive acceptors, with 45 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data collection involved structured questionnaires, contraceptive cards, and standardized weight measurements. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis for frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square tests at a 95% confidence level. Results: Most respondents were aged 20–35 years (68.9%), had secondary education (51.1%), and were unemployed (51.1%). More than half had used injectable contraceptives for over two years (55.6%). Weight gain was observed in 73.3% of respondents. The Chi-Square test revealed a significant association between duration of contraceptive use and weight gain (p = 0.013). Longer use (>2 years) was linked to a higher likelihood of weight gain. Conclusion: The study confirms a significant relationship between prolonged use of three-month injectable contraceptives and weight gain. Health providers are encouraged to deliver adequate counseling, routine monitoring, and lifestyle modification guidance to minimize long-term side effects.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the competence of mathematics teachers in Maros Regency through training on the utilization of GeoGebra software as an interactive learning medium. The background of this activity is the low mathematical understanding of students, partly due to teachers’ limited ability to use technology-based media. GeoGebra was chosen because it can facilitate the visualization of abstract mathematical concepts such as geometry, algebra, and calculus, making them easier for students to comprehend. The training was conducted at SMPN 1 Maros on July 23, 2025, involving junior high school mathematics teachers as participants. The implementation consisted of preparation, socialization, mentoring and supervision, as well as evaluation. The evaluation results showed that 90.75% of participants rated the program as highly relevant to their needs, 9.25% rated it relevant, and none rated it irrelevant. These findings indicate that the training successfully enhanced teachers’ skills in using GeoGebra and encouraged them to be more innovative in developing technology-based learning. Thus, this PKM activity has a positive impact on improving the quality of mathematics learning in Maros Regency.
