Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem is an ecosystem that supports people's lives and the biota that live in it. Globally, mangrove ecosystems are recognized as productive ecosystems in coastal areas. Mangrove wetlands have an important function of protecting coastal ecology, buffering salinity, breeding grounds for organisms and transporting nutrients. Research on the assessment of the quality of mangrove ecosystems in Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh City was carried out with the aim of studying the presence of mangrove species, plankton species, hydrological factors of mangrove ecosystems and analyzing the quality of mangrove ecosystems as breeding grounds for organisms based on hydrological factor values. The method used in this study was the line transect method and the research technique was carried out by means of purposive sampling. Data analysis was calculated using the Shanon-Wiener Species Diversity Index () and PCA (Principal Component Analysis) analysis. Identification results showed a low mangrove species diversity index with a value of = 1.924, a plankton species diversity index of = 2.614 belonging to moderate community stability, a hydrological index covering temperatures ranging from 28.2 to 29.8 C, pH 7.1 -7.4, DO 2.9-4.1 mg/L, salinity 27-20.9 /, brightness 30-68.5 Cd, depth 88.5-105 cm. Water quality parameters are in good condition. PCA analysis showed a correlation between the distribution of mangrove species and parameters of salinity, pH, DO, temperature, depth and brightness. Keywords:MangrovesBreeding SiteHydrologyPlanktonCoastal Area

Abstract

Hospitals as food providers for patients and staff require standardized food storage systems to maintain quality and safety. This study aims to evaluate the compliance of dry and wet food storage using FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) methods at the Nutrition Installation of Datu Beru Hospital, Aceh Tengah, based on the Pelayanan Gizi Rumah Sakit Kementerian Kesehatan (PGRS KEMENKES) 2013 guidelines. Quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional design was conducted through direct observation and assessment sheets using the Guttman Scale on 5 storage staff. Results showed dry food storage scored 9 out of 12 (meeting requirements), but inconsistencies were found in unscheduled warehouse opening, daily room cleaning (twice a day instead of twice a week), and absence of insecticide spraying. Wet food storage scored 7 out of 7 (meeting requirements), though improvements in storage time management are needed. The conclusion states that FIFO and FEFO methods have been implemented with proper stock recording, but improvements in warehouse schedules, cleaning frequency, and pest control are required. Further research should explore causes of non-compliance and develop localized strategies for enhancing adherence.

Abstract

Abstract

Observation results in Blang Beurandang Village, Johan Pahlawan, West Aceh, in 2025 revealed several cases of malnutrition in toddlers, specifically three toddlers experiencing stunting, two toddlers experiencing wasting, and two toddlers being underweight. As a result, it not only inhibits the physical and cognitive growth of children but can even cause death. One effort to overcome this is to provide nutrition education. This community service activity was carried out in Blang Beurandang Village, Johan Pahlawan, involving mothers of toddlers and village cadres. The method used is Community Rural Participatory, including the assessment stages (recapitulation of initial anthropometric measurement data and secondary data), planning stages (educational media, PMT), and implementation stages (measuring the level of knowledge of the target group using pretest-posttest before and after being given counseling). The results of the activity showed the highest prevalence, namely underweight at 18.42%, followed by stunting at 15.79%, wasting at 7.89%, and the lowest, namely obesity and overnutrition at 2.63%. Then, in measuring the level of knowledge among mothers about stunting, wasting, underweight, and the role of PMT, with a total of 14 mothers of toddlers as respondents, an increase in knowledge was observed after nutrition counselling, specifically from 7.1% of respondents with good knowledge, increasing to 57.1%. PMT products, in the form of chicken-filled tempeh balls, were well received by the target group during the activity. However, ongoing mentoring, monitoring, and education efforts are necessary to ensure that knowledge about nutrition and PMT processing is effectively applied in everyday life, particularly in the practice of providing food to children and managing family food.

Abstract

Domestic violence remains a serious problem in Indonesia, especially in North Aceh, which has the second highest number of domestic violence cases in Aceh. This research analyzes the North Aceh District Government's economic empowerment policy implementation in tackling domestic violence using the GenderTransformative (GT) approach. Using a phenomenological qualitative method, this research conducted in-depth interviews with various parties, including the Department of Social Affairs, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, and analysis of related documents. The results showed that despite the existence of Aceh Qanun (Local Law) No. 9 of 2019 and North Aceh Regent Regulation No. 9 of 2022 that regulate women's empowerment and handling of domestic violence, implementation still faces many challenges. The main obstacles are weak interagency coordination, lack of community and NGO participation, and limitedunderstanding of the relevant qanuns. More integrated and effective local, mesomacro, and inter-organizational interventions must be strengthened. In conclusion, achieving gender equality and reducing domestic violence through economic empowerment requires a more comprehensive approach. The North Aceh regional government is advised to enhance coordination, increase community and NGO participation, and develop sustainable empowerment programs considering the local context and Islamic values
