Abstract

Bakteri Escherichia coli (E. coli) merupakan salah satu indikator untuk menilai penerapan sanitasi pangan. Infeksi bakteri E. coli meningkat setiap tahunnya.

Abstract

Intestinal parasitic infection is a disease that still neglated, more likely found in developing countries. This infection is caused by a group of intestinal protozoa and worms, generally intestinal nematodes. In children, the STH group is the most common cause of infection. Infection often occurs via the fecal-oral route. Children more often consume infective stages to other age groups due to their poor hygiene behavior.  Intestinal parasitic infections in children can cause high mortality and mobility. This infection causes a decline in health conditions, nutritional absorption, intelligence and productivity. This can simultaneously cause disruption of growth and development in children. These manifestations are related to the virulence of the parasite strain, the number of infective stages consumed, the age of the patient, and the state of the immune system at the time of infection. Apart from that, the manifestations that arise are widespread, asymptomatic to chronic. The manifestions are related to the digestive tract as the target organ of infections. However, manifestations can also be found outside the digestive tract. This is because organisms move to other organs through blood vessels. Manifestations that arise in the digestive tract are usually nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea which is sometimes accompanied by blood. Not only that, weakness, fatigue, lethargy, and eating disorders are the manifestation of these infections. This is what causes growth and development disorders in children. Meanwhile, the extraintestinal mainifestations are liver abscess due to amoeba infection, Loeffler syndrome due to Ascaris lumbricoides infection and other manifestations. Usually, the intestinal nematoda infections caused have their own characteristics.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease and is a major chronic and long-term health problem in society. If uncontrolled, it tends to worsen due to complications. Diabetes mellitus requires long-term treatment. This study aims to determine the factors that affect adherence to pharmacological treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in farmers. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 165 farmers who were selected by purposive sampling. This study was conducted from May to June 2024 in the working area of Sukadamai Community Health Center, Natar, South Lampung, Indonesia. Data were collected based on questionnaires. The results showed that adherence to pharmacological treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus is directly related to age (b=-1.601; 95%CI=-3.260-0.583; p=0.059), self-motivation (b=2.500; 95%CI=0.856-4.144; p=0.003), duration of illness (b=1.587; 95%CI=0.209-0.964; p=0.024), and family support (b=2.840; 95%CI=1.311-4.369; p=0.000). There is an indirect relationship between education and adherence through the knowledge variable (b=0.962; 95%CI=0.307-1.617; p=0.004). Indirectly, education is related to adherence through income (b=2.363; 95%CI=1.618-3.107; p=0.000), self-efficacy to adherence through self-motivation (b=0.261; 95%CI=-0.657-1.180; p=0.577), and family support through self-motivation (b=2.287; 95%CI=1.361-3.214; p= 0.000). Healthcare workers should repeatedly provide counseling on primary education materials, such as the importance of continuous control, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, and other secondary prevention measures to prevent complications in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

In response to the increasingly competitive and uncertain business environment, promotional strategies are crucial for companies to sustain and grow. This study aims to analyze the promotional strategies implemented by TPKU Jombang in facing global competition, with a focus on the application of Islamic business ethics. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed, involving data collection through interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that TPKU relies on word-of-mouth promotion as its main strategy, which has proven effective in attracting and retaining customers. However, the company faces challenges in utilizing digital technology to expand its promotional reach, primarily due to limited technological knowledge among its employees. Additionally, the application of Islamic business ethics principles, such as honesty and transparency, plays a crucial role in building consumer trust and maintaining the company's reputation. Therefore, to remain competitive in the global market, TPKU should consider integrating digital technology into its promotional strategies while upholding Islamic ethical principles.

Abstract

A Systematic Literature Review (SLR), also referred to as a literature review, serves as a foundation for the development of scientific knowledge, policymaking, practice, and guidelines that are firmly grounded in evidence-based research. Meta-analysis is often regarded as a more advanced and focused component within the broader scope of SLR. The authors observed that many students still rely predominantly on descriptive research methods that focus solely on frequencies, without conducting in-depth observation or analysis of variables. The purpose of this community service activity (PKM) is to conduct training for students on a more advanced methodological approach meta-analysis. The training is scheduled for two days: the first day focuses on theoretical concepts, and the second day is dedicated to hands-on practice. To evaluate the effectiveness of the training, identical pre- and post-training questionnaires will be distributed to all participants. The results demonstrate that this activity effectively enhances students’ understanding of SLR and meta-analysis through practical application using appropriate software tools. The implementation of pre- and post-tests is crucial for evaluating the success of any educational intervention.
