Abstract

Background:Among the seven sub-districts within the Kolaka Health Center Working Area, Sabilambo Village exhibited the lowest progress in family latrine ownership. Objectives:This study aims to identify the factors associated with the coverage of family latrine use in Sabilambo Village, Kolaka Regency. Methods:This research employed an analytical approach using a cross-sectional study design. The study population comprised all heads of families in Sabilambo Village, totaling 1.105 families, from which a sample of 92 families was selected using simple random sampling techniques. Results:The Chi-Square test results indicated a significant relationship between knowledge (X²count = 13.086 > X²table = 3.481), household income (X²count = 18.335 > X²table = 3.481), people's habits (X²count = 21.486 > X²table = 3.481), and the role of the local government (X²count = 25.213 > X²table = 3.481) with the coverage of family latrine use in Sabilambo Village, Kolaka Regency. Conclusion:The findings indicate that knowledge, household income, community habits, and the role of local government significantly influence the coverage of family latrine use in Sabilambo Village. To address these issues, it is recommended that community members enhance their awareness of the importance of proper and healthy latrine use, fostering a behavioral shift from the use of unhealthy latrines to healthier alternatives.  Keywords:knowledge; household income; community habits; government role; family latrine use

Abstract

Based on the results of research in the management of coastal areas in increasing tourists visiting Mattirotasi Beach, it is known that the results of the analysis of the coastal tourism environment are known to have a coastal height of 0-3 meters above sea level with a slope of 0-8%, coastal bathymetry in the city of Parepare, wind speeds ranging from 173.4 m. /min to 117.6 n/min can generate sea waves with a height of 0.5-1.2 meters. Meanwhile, in the East monsoon, which has a range of wind speeds between 133.2-45 m/s, it is able to generate waves that reach a height of 0.4 – 1.4 meters. up to 0.1852 m/s. With wave intervals ranging from +1.1 meters to 1.5, and seeing the potential for attraction, there is the Nusantara Port which functions as one of the main gates as access to Tanjungpinang City. This area stretches for ± 5 Km and is directly adjacent to the waters, so it has the potential to be developed as a recreational area with the potential to present a sunset view by the beach and Suppa Bay. This condition is also supported by the strategic position of the City of Parepare as a Madya City which is a connecting node in the central part of South Sulawesi Province towards West Sulawesi and the northern part of South Sulawesi Province. Therefore, the Mattirotasi coastal area is a coastal tourist attraction that has quite a variety of attractions. This beach tourism activity is included in the recreational category, which is the type of activity that is most dominantly carried out by tourists.

Library research involves collecting library data, reading, taking notes, and processing data from the reading results.Findings – 1. Malay people who identify themselves with Islam indirectly use Islamic values as the reference and highest value system. Education in Malay society aims to create a perfect human who upholds all the norms held by Malay society. Perfect people in Malay society are called “bertuah”.2. Creating a person “bertuah” is the duty of all members of society, especially parents. Meanwhile, the tools and means include literary works, songs, and advice. Malay society focuses more on cultivating religious values, such as religious knowledge. Abstract

Citrus fruit is a fruit that is favored by the public. The quality of the fruit from the garden to the consumer goes through a long process. Generally, the quality of the fruit is evaluated by a visual judgment ratio that can be wrong. This method also only evaluates the external quality of the fruit. The internal quality of the fruit such as sugar content is determined by a refractometer which belongs to the destructive method, and is not suitable for online quality measurement. A non-destructive and objective method to evaluate the quality of citrus fruits is needed. Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) method can be used in non-destructive investigation. In this study, a non-destructive measurement of pamelo orange fruit was developed. The impedance change of pamelo citrus fruits during ripening was observed over a period of one week. The impedance of pamelo orange fruit was measured by AD5933 evaluation board and then the measurement data was analyzed by EIS Spectrum Analyzer software. Frequency-related electrical characteristics were observed, the results showed that the electrical impedance decreased and the phase increased

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus or what people generally call diabetes is a chronic disease that can be suffered throughout life. Diabetes has 2 types, namely type 1 diabetes mellitus which is the result of an autoimmune reaction to pancreatic islet cell proteins, then type 2 diabetes which is caused by a combination of genetic factors related to impaired insulin secretion, insulin resistance and environmental factors such as obesity, overeating, undereating, exercise and stress, and aging. The purpose of this Thematic KKN activity is to increase public knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus through activities of community service based on health education for participants who experience Diabetes Mellitus. The methods used include Counseling about Diabetes Mellitus using leaflet media, TTV and Blood Sugar Examination, Demonstration of making herbal medicine to lower blood sugar levels, namely cinnamon decoction and Educating for periodic health checks at health centers. The results of the activity showed that out of 57 people studied, 7 out of 19 people with diabetes mellitus were male and 13 out of 38 people with diabetes mellitus were female. This means that more women experience DM in RT 002/RW 002, Jayaloka sub-district, Empat Lawang district in 2025. The results obtained are that counseling has been carried out well, the community already knows what diabetes mellitus is, but ongoing education is needed by the health center so that the community always remembers what diabetes is along with its signs and symptoms. Follow-up plan Hold counseling/education every month at every integrated health post. It is expected that the local government, especially the head of RT.002/RW 002, to invite the community to participate in health check-ups and adolescent/elderly integrated health posts carried out by the health center and the Tebing Tinggi health center to be more active in providing education to the community through health cadres about non-communicable diseases.
