Abstract

Montong Baan Village is one of 14 villages in Sikur District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This village is a division of East Suradadi Village, established on November 3, 1938. Most of the people in this village work as crops (tomatoes and chilies) farmers. However, the lack of awareness related to the processing of agricultural products makes the community only depend on the livelihoods of farmers, whereas if the agricultural products are processed, they can make a product with high selling value. Therefore, the purpose of the University of Mataram Thematic Desapreneur Community Service Program for the period December 2022 - February 2023 is to help people create businesses by utilizing tomatoes through outreach and training in making tomato sauce. The stages carried out during the training were mixing ingredients, cooking, packaging, and marketing. The results obtained from this tomato sauce making training are that the people in Montong Baan Village can produce tomato sauce products that have been packaged and labeled and are ready to be marketed. Apart from that, the training on making tomato sauce in Montong Baan Village will certainly open up business opportunities and improve the economy for the community.

Abstract

Throughout 2021 the City of Semarang has experienced 88 floods in several different locations. In order for the community to become more independent in the health sector, it is necessary to develop active alert villages and sub-districts where one of the components is health cadres and Health Crisis Management. The community empowers itself through the active role of cadres. Communities prevent, mitigate/reduce the threat and risk of disaster impacts, and increase their ability to adapt, reduce risks, save themselves, and recover better. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and preparedness of health cadres in dealing with floods as part of community empowerment. This study used a quantitative analytic method, with a cross-sectional technique. It was conducted from August to October 2022. The sample of this study was 35 respondents. The results showed that there was a relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of health cadres toward flood disaster preparedness (p = 0.04 and p = 0.027). The results of the study provide an overview of how preparedness must be owned by every family and health cadre in facing the possibility of natural disasters, in this case, floods.

Abstract

The cause of infection in postpartum women is due to the perineal wound. Data released from Purbalingga district health office in 2022, Kutawis Health Center ranked second in the incidence of perineal wound infection. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and red betel leaf are known contains chemicals that are antiseptic and antibacterial. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of VCO and red betel leaf water decoction on the healing time of perineal lacerations of grade II postpartum women in the Kutawis Health Center working area of Purbalingga Regency. This type of research uses quasy experimental design, two group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study are 34 people taken using accidental sampling. The sample was divided into 2 groups. Data analysis using Mann Whitney test. The results of the intervention group obtained p value <0.025. (p-value <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between groups using VCO and red betel leaf water decoction. An average wound healing using VCO 6.17 days and the group using red betel leaf decoction on average healed 5.58 days. Based on the research, it is known that there is a difference in the healing time of perineal wounds between treatments using VCO and red betel leaf water decoction. Treatment using red betel leaf is faster wound healing than treatment using VCO. From the results of this study it is hoped that it can be applied independently so that it can accelerate the healing of lacerations.

Abstract

The tradition of tedhak siten holds great significance within Javanese culture, symbolizing a baby's journey from birth. This ritual not only celebrates the baby's arrival and well-being but also serves as a means to protect against seizures. Embedded within the tradition are profound social and cultural values, which are meticulously upheld in Penggalangan Village, Tebing Syahbandar, Serdang Bedagai, renowned for its preservation of this custom. This study meticulously documents the intricate tedhak siten process alongside the social and cultural values ingrained within the community of Penggalangan Village. The primary objective of this research is to comprehensively understand both the ritual itself and the values it embodies. Employing a methodological approach that encompasses interviews, field observations, and extensive literature review, the study delves into the various stages of the tedhak siten procession. These include stepping on 7-colored jenang, ascending a rattan ladder, entering a chicken coop, selecting a cherished object, gathering coins, undergoing a scented water bath, and donning new attire. Among the values reflected throughout the tradition are self-assurance, magnanimity, the preservation of familial dignity, and industriousness.
