Abstract

Background: The success of a management in patients cannot be separated from monitoring. Therefore, a warning system is needed to monitor the management of diabetes mellitus. One way is to monitor the management of diabetes mellitus patients. Media Self-Monitoring Card is the development of control card media that contains educational materials as well as monitoring to monitor diabetes mellitus management independently. Media Self-Monitoring Card has the advantage that it is practical to use, self-based so that monitoring can be carried out intensely. Objective:  Develop Self-Monitoring Card educational media for monitoring the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in outpatients.Method: This research method is Research and Development (R &; D) with five stages of development, namely analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The media that has been created is then tested through validation tests by two material experts and two media experts. The cut-off point Content Validity Index (CVI) limit on material validation and media validation tests is at least 0.8. Media that have been declared viable by material experts and media experts will then be field-tested limited by ten random respondents selected according to predetermined criteria.Result: The Content Validity Index (CVI) value in the material validation test was 0.9. While the Content Validity Index (CVI) value in the media validation test is 0.87. Based on limited field trials, a percentage of 94.3% was obtainedConclusion: Self-Monitoring Card media is suitable to be used as a medium for education and monitoring of type 2 diabetes mellitus management in outpatients. For this reason, further research is needed to determine the effectiveness of education using the Self-Monitoring Card to monitor the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

The increasing number of tourist visits and activities of coastal communities affects the distribution of marine waste on the Pangandaran coast, resulting in waste generation that pollutes the coastal environment. This is due to a lack of awareness in disposing of waste in its proper place, a lack of cleaning facilities and a waste transport fleet by the Pangandaran district government. The aim of this research is to provide an evaluation regarding the distribution of marine waste and its management on Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari. Using Survey Method and Driving Force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response data analysis. The research location was carried out in three locations, namely on the Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari. The results of this research are that the distribution of marine debris on Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari is categorized as moderate. This causes pressure on coastal areas where there is waste generation at several research stations. The most common type of waste is plastic waste with a percentage of 45-54% on Pantai Timur, 36-55% on Pantai Barat and 43-51% on Pantai Madasari. The type of waste that is least found is rubber with a percentage of 2-3%. The actions taken by Pangandaran Village and the Pangandaran Regency Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) are waste management using a collect-transport-dispose system, community service to clean the beach with the community on Fridays, and the availability of several rubbish bins at every distance of 10 meters. Waste management on Pantai Madasari is managed by the village government, where this authority is handed over to Village-Owned Enterprises using a collect-transport-dispose system and burned directly at the temporary disposal site (TPS).Keywords: Coastal; DPSIR; plastic; pollution; waste distribution

Abstract

This article examines the impact of globalization on multicultural education and local wisdom in the border areas of Kalimantan. Globalization has brought significant changes to cultural values, potentially eroding local cultural identities, particularly among younger generations. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study systematically collected and analyzed 85 journal articles published between 2015 and 2024 from databases such as Google Scholar and Crossref, using keywords related to globalization, multicultural education, local wisdom, socio-cultural learning, and border areas. Data were analyzed through thematic synthesis to identify recurring patterns and conceptual linkages. The findings reveal that multicultural education serves as a strategic approach to preserving cultural identity and fostering inclusive, tolerant student character. At the same time, local wisdom reinforces the internalization of noble values—such as gotong royong (cooperation), respect, and patriotism. Furthermore, effective implementation requires synergy between educational institutions, local governments, and communities through inclusive curriculum development, teacher capacity building, and community-based learning initiatives. In conclusion, this study makes a significant contribution both theoretically and practically by proposing a conceptual model and implementing strategies for integrating socio-cultural learning into multicultural education. It highlights the importance of strengthening cultural resilience in border regions through sustainable, context-based educational transformation in response to globalization.

Abstract

Many studies of perineal wounds use the redness, edema, ecchymosis, discharge, and approximation (REEDA) scale as a healing assessment tool. Still, this tool has not become part of the standard of care in postpartum women with perineal lacerations due to the lack of evidence of its validity. This study aimed to analyze the consistency of the REEDA scale in healing perineal wounds of postpartum women. The method uses an observational study using the interrater reliability test for the REEDA tool on perineal wound healing in postpartum women with second-degree perineal lacerations, 11 women were recruited using consecutive sampling. Lacerations were observed by researchers, and midwives were trained on days 1, 3, and 7 postpartum. Cohen's kappa coefficient test was used to test the consistency of the REEDA scale. The results shows that the fair and excellent agreement on the redness item with kappa (0.57-1.00), agreement on the edema item showed good and excellent results (0.61-0.84), fair and good agreement on the ecchymosis item (0.51- 0.73), good and excellent agreement on discharge items (0.79 -1.00). On the approximation item (0.62–1.00), agreement improved to excellent at the final assessment. In the third evaluation, the scoring of all items showed good or excellent agreement between the raters.  The conclusion is  the overall assessment shows that the application of the REEDA scale is reliable because it shows consistency; namely, there are no more values with low agreement on the seventh day of the postpartum period.
