Abstract

Innovative and engaging instructional media are increasingly required to enhance students’ conceptual understanding and promote learner autonomy in elementary education. Within mathematics learning, game-based media such as puzzles have been suggested as effective tools to support constructivist learning processes. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of puzzle-based learning media in improving conceptual understanding and learning independence among fifth-grade students at Petapan 2 Primary School. A quantitative research design was employed using a saturation sampling technique involving 60 students from classes V-C and V-D. Data were collected through a mathematical understanding test and a learning independence questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS version 21 for Windows, including validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests. Hypothesis testing was performed using an independent samples t-test. The results indicate a significant difference between the experimental group using puzzle media and the control group using conventional media. The significance values for conceptual understanding and learning independence were both 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings demonstrate that puzzle-based media significantly enhance students’ mathematical understanding and foster independent learning. Therefore, the integration of constructivist, game-based learning media is recommended to strengthen both cognitive and affective outcomes in elementary mathematics education

Abstract

Integrating digital learning media in primary education has become increasingly important to enhance student engagement and academic achievement, particularly in subjects that students often perceive as difficult, such as mathematics. Interactive technologies such as Smartboards provide dynamic visual and interactive learning environments that can potentially improve students’ interest and learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effect of interactive Smartboard media on students’ learning interest and mathematics achievement among fourth-grade students at SDN Kebun 2 Kamal. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was saturation sampling, involving the entire population of 50 students from classes IV-A and IV-B. The research instruments consisted of a mathematics learning achievement test and a questionnaire measuring students’ learning interest. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 21, including tests of validity, homogeneity, normality, and an independent samples t-test. The findings reveal a statistically significant improvement in both students’ interest and learning outcomes after the implementation of Smartboard-based instruction, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The results indicate that the use of Smartboard media effectively enhances students’ engagement and academic performance in mathematics. Therefore, Smartboard technology can be recommended as an alternative instructional medium to support the achievement of learning competencies in elementary mathematics education

Abstract

Arabic language learning in Indonesia continues to face challenges regarding standardized assessment systems that are consistent and globally measurable, as existing curriculum dominated by structural-theoretical approaches. This study aims to analyze the relevance of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency standards in Arabic language curriculum development, using language assessment theory as the primary evaluative framework. The research method employed is library research, utilizing content analysis of of ACTFL documents and related curriculum literature. The findings indicate that, theoretically, ACTFL possesses strong conceptual coherence with modern assessment theories through its emphasis on construct validity, authenticity, and performance orientation. The integration of ACTFL is capable of reorienting the components of objectives, materials, and teaching methodologies from rule-mastery toward functional communicative proficiency. In conclusion, ACTFL is relevant as an international standard for enhancing the quality of the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia. However, its implementation requires contextual adaptation to the characteristics of Fusha Arabic and the strengthening of educator competencies as proficiency assessors to address practicality and reliability constraints in the field.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di kelas IV MI Muhammadiyah Pannampu akibat penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva terhadap minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimental melalui desain one group pretest-posttest dengan subjek sebanyak 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan observasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor minat belajar siswa meningkat dari 37,52 pada pretest menjadi 43,72 pada posttest, dengan nilai signifikansi (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) < 0,05 yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva yang difokuskan pada peningkatan minat belajar dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di tingkat sekolah dasar. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an Arabic language curriculum based on the Reflective–Metacognitive Learning (RML) approach to enhance students’ self-awareness and learning autonomy. Employing a qualitative descriptive design through library research and content analysis, the study examined theoretical frameworks and formulated curriculum components that integrate reflective and metacognitive principles. The results revealed that RML encouraged students to plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning consciously, transforming classroom instruction into a learner-centered process. The model emphasized reflective journals, guided discussions, and self-evaluation as part of the curriculum design. This approach provided teachers with practical references for integrating reflective–metacognitive strategies into Arabic learning and contributed to curriculum development aligned with 21st-century educational goals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan video terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar IPAS pada siswa kelas V SDN Bunten Barat 4. Desain yang digunakan adalah one group pre-test post-test dengan satu kelas sebagai subjek (N = 10). Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi serta tes hasil belajar yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran PBL berbantuan video. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas Kolmogorov–Smirnov dan uji t berpasangan, dilengkapi estimasi ukuran efek Cohen’s d. Temuan menunjukkan skor motivasi dan hasil belajar seluruh siswa meningkat pada pengukuran akhir. Peningkatan tersebut signifikan (p < 0,05) dan ditunjukkan oleh ukuran efek pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, PBL berbantuan video berpotensi memperkuat keterlibatan belajar sekaligus mendukung pemahaman konsep sistem peredaran darah manusia, sehingga layak dipertimbangkan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Behavior Cards terhadap pemahaman materi Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) serta perilaku sopan santun siswa kelas IV di SDN 273 Borongrappoa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis Quasi-Experimental Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas IV A sebagai kelas eksperimen (16 siswa) dan kelas IV B sebagai kelas kontrol (18 siswa). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen tes tertulis (pretest-posttest) untuk mengukur pemahaman materi dan lembar observasi untuk menilai perilaku sopan santun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan media Behavior Cards terhadap peningkatan pemahaman materi PPKn. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test yang memperoleh nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 dan rata-rata peningkatan (N-Gain) kelas eksperimen (0,67) yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (0,39). Selain itu, media ini juga terbukti efektif dalam membentuk perilaku sopan santun siswa, di mana 68,75% siswa di kelas eksperimen berhasil mencapai kategori 'Sangat Baik', berbanding terbalik dengan kelas kontrol yang tidak memiliki siswa pada kategori tersebut (0%). Simpulannya, penggunaan Behavior Cards secara efektif kognitif (pemahaman materi) dan afektif (perilaku sopan santun) pada siswa sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: Behavior Cards, Pemahaman Materi, Perilaku Sopan Santun, PPKn.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors causing learning difficulties among students in the Pancasila education subject in the third grade of SD Negeri Mannuruki, Makassar. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through direct observation and in-depth interviews with teachers and students. The results of the study show that students' learning difficulties are not singular but rather an accumulation of internal and external factors. Cognitively, students experience difficulties in understanding abstract terms in Pancasila. Meanwhile, behaviorally, there is a tendency for students to evade tasks through 'stubborn' attitudes or lack of focus due to an inability to understand instructions. The dominant internal factors include low concentration, abstract material that is far from the children's reality, and emotional health issues in the form of feelings of inferiority. The external factors are triggered by a lack of learning support at home due to the busyness of parents and the influence of uncontrolled gadget use. The findings of this study indicate a negative correlation between student behavior and academic achievement, where a lack of focus directly hinders optimal material absorption
