Abstract

Menciptakan sarana pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di era modern sangatlah penting. Hal ini dilakukan pengembangan sarana pembelajaran untuk bidang studi Sosiologi kelas XI berbasis PowerPoint yang diintegrasikan dengan aplikasi Focusky di Madrasah Aliyah Khulafaur Rasyidin yang berada di Kecamatan Sungai Raya, Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Dari hasil studi lapangan membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih kurang bervariasi, khususnya PowerPoint yang cenderung monoton tanpa dukungan visual dan audio yang memadai, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap rendahnya motivasi dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi, terutama pada topik konflik sosial yang kompleks. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, digunakan metode R&D yaitu, Research and Development dengan pendekatan ADDIE yaitu meliputi, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Pada tahap analisis menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan yang mendesak terhadap media yang lebih interaktif dan materi yang disajikan secara lebih menarik. Proses desain melibatkan pengumpulan dan penyusunan konten multimedia. Produk akhir yang dihasilkan berupa CD pembelajaran interaktif yang telah dievaluasi oleh pengamat materi dan media, keduanya memberikan penilaian dengan kriteia "sangat baik" dan merekomendasikan kelayakan produk. Hasil uji coba di kedua kelompok eksperimen dengan sampel kecil dan besar siswa memperlihatkan respon yang sangat positif. Lebih lanjut, implementasi yang telah dilakukan dilapangan ditunjukkan hasil peningkatan pretest ke posttest sebesar 59,30% skor rata-rata akademik siswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan sarana pembelajaran Focusky ini memadai dan efektif mengoptimalkan pemahaman serta motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan aplikasi Canva pada pembelajaran sosiologi materi gejala sosial di kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan yaitu deskriptif-kualitatif dengan populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh peserta didik dan guru sosiologi di SMA tersebut, sedangkan sampel penelitian yaitu guru sosiologi dan peserta didik kelas X-I. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi lembar wawancara sebagai instrumen kunci dan lembar observasi pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan meliputi 1) reduksi data, 2) penyajian data, dan 3) penarikan kesimpulan serta verifikasi. Selain itu juga dilakukan uji keabsahan dengan cara memperpanjang skala pengamatan, meningkatkan ketekunan, dan triangulasi data. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil pembelajaran berjalan kognitif dan sesuai sintaks PjBL. Hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif menunjukkan rata-rata 85,56 dengan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 88,89%. Pada ranah afektif menunukkan rata-rata 3,4 dalam kategori “sangat baik”. Selain itu pada ranah psikomotorik diperoleh rata-rata 86,67. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat maka disimpulkan bahwa implementasi PjBL dengan berbantuan aplikasi Canva dapat berdampak positif pada pemahaman kosep serta menumbuhkan keterampilan kolaborasi, komunikasi, dan kreativitas serta keterampilan abad 21 yang relevan dan sejalan dengan tuntutan kurikulum pendidikan Indonesia saat ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan evaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan Google Classroom pada mata pelajaran Sosiologi di kelas X E1 SMA Santu Petrus Pontianak. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari kebutuhan optimalisasi evaluasi pembelajaran di era digital agar lebih efisien, transparan, dan menarik bagi peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru mata pelajaran serta empat orang peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan evaluasi dilakukan secara sistematis melalui penyusunan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) yang memuat strategi evaluasi berbasis digital. Pelaksanaan evaluasi berlangsung interaktif dan partisipatif, dengan guru berperan aktif sebagai fasilitator dan siswa menunjukkan kemandirian dalam mengerjakan tugas secara daring. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan mayoritas siswa mencapai nilai cukup hingga sangat baik, dengan Google Classroom terbukti efektif meningkatkan efisiensi dan transparansi penilaian. Namun, masih terdapat kendala teknis seperti gangguan jaringan dan keterbatasan perangkat yang memengaruhi sebagian kecil siswa. Secara keseluruhan, evaluasi pembelajaran berbasis Google Classroom dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran Sosiologi.

Abstract

This research examines education dynamics in the border region between Indonesia and Malaysia, specifically in Bengkyang Regency. The study focuses on the challenges of maintaining cultural identity and nationalism amidst the strong influence of foreign cultures. The educational units comprise one kindergarten, 18 elementary schools, six junior high schools, one senior high school, and three vocational schools. In Jagoi Babang, there is one private kindergarten, two private elementary schools, one private junior high school, and two private vocational schools. Only a few schools include vision and mission statements aimed at building and maintaining nationalism. This study explores educational practices and the role of Ethno pedagogy in strengthening nationalism among students. Using a qualitative research method with an ethnopedagogical approach, the research team analyzed education dynamics at the border through ethnopedagogical studies. The results indicate that special attention is still needed for local genius and local wisdom through the articulation of cultural values, as educational practices in various domains emphasize local wisdom as a source of innovation and skills that can be empowered for community welfare. The local wisdom relates to how knowledge is generated, stored, applied, and managed. In supporting the success of core learning in schools, information obtained from students reveals that obstacles such as facilities and infrastructure and gaps in learning during class hours are still frequently experienced by students. The research findings show that schools in Jagoi Babang suffer from a lack of facilities and infrastructure, hindering access to education. Additionally, the integration of local values into the curriculum needs to be higher, contributing to the degradation of local culture. The study finds that despite efforts to build nationalism, the lack of innovation in teaching methods remains a barrier. There is a need for government attention to improve the quality of education and infrastructure. The novelty of this research lies in its emphasis on the role of Ethno pedagogy in education in border areas, providing valuable insights for policymakers and educators in designing more effective programs to support education and strengthen national identity.

Abstract

The article aimed to analyze the limited face-to-face learning strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic at Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak. With the limited implementation of face-to-face learning, schools were required to design learning strategies that in accordance with the conditions of learning implementation during the Covid-19 pandemic. As has been applied at this school from the results of this study, both in the school environment, teaching and learning activities and the availability of various health protocol facilities as a strategy for implementing face-to-face learning during the pandemic. The research used descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques incuded observation, interviews and documentation. The limitations of face-to-face learning at Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak were the number of years of study at school, the lack of interaction and the implementation of assessments which had better transformation. Meanwhile, Islamic Private Junior High Schools Pontianak had merely once a week for learning implementation, so schools must maximize learning strategies. Abstract

Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng memainkan peran penting dalam upacara pernikahan serta mempererat ikatan sosial di masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendalami peran dan fungsi Kesenian Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng dalam memperkuat relasi sosial, memelihara warisan budaya Melayu, serta memahami dinamika hubungan sosial. Kesenian Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng di Desa Mega Timur, Kalimantan Barat, mencerminkan kekayaan warisan budaya Melayu dan memainkan peran penting dalam upacara pernikahan. Dalam perspektif sosiologis, pertunjukan ini menjadi landasan untuk memahami dinamika hubungan sosial di masyarakat. Tarian ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan semata, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang mempererat ikatan antarindividu dan kelompok. Di antara anggota kesenian, terbentuk keakraban melalui kerjasama dan koordinasi, menciptakan norma dan nilai bersama yang menguatkan struktur sosial kelompok. Hubungan dengan masyarakat sekitar juga menjadi penting, di mana interaksi antara penampil dan penonton menciptakan respons positif dan memperkaya pengalaman bersama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipatif, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng bukan hanya sebagai hiburan, melainkan juga sebagai representasi hubungan sosial yang kompleks dalam masyarakat sehari-hari. Tarian ini mencerminkan dinamika relasi sosial dalam masyarakat dan memperkuat hubungan sosial antara berbagai pihak yang terlibat dalam pertunjukan tari ini. Seni pertunjukan juga memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk, memelihara, dan memperluas jaringan sosial di tengah masyarakat.  Interaksi antara penampil dan penonton dalam pertunjukan Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng menciptakan respons positif dan memperkaya pengalaman bersama. Kesenian Tari Orang-orang Bertopeng memainkan peran vital dalam memperkuat hubungan sosial dan memelihara warisan budaya Melayu. Pertunjukan tarian ini tidak hanya sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai representasi dinamika relasi sosial dalam masyarakat sehari-hari. Seni pertunjukan menjadi sarana penting dalam memperluas jaringan sosial dan memahami keanekaragaman budaya.   The Masked People Dance plays a significant role in wedding ceremonies and strengthens social bonds within the community. This research aims to delve into the role and function of the Masked People Dance in reinforcing social relations, preserving Malay cultural heritage, and understanding social relationship dynamics. The Masked People Dance in Desa Mega Timur, West Kalimantan, reflects the richness of Malay cultural heritage and plays a crucial role in wedding ceremonies. From a sociological perspective, this performance serves as a foundation for understanding the dynamics of social relationships within the community. The dance not only serves as entertainment but also as a medium for strengthening bonds among individuals and groups. Among the members of the art, camaraderie is formed through cooperation and coordination, creating shared norms and values that strengthen the social structure of the group. Interaction with the surrounding community is also important, where interaction between performers and audiences creates positive responses and enriches shared experiences. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including participatory observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the Masked People Dance is not only for entertainment but also a representation of complex social relationships in everyday life. This dance reflects the dynamics of social relations in society and strengthens social relationships among various parties involved in the dance performance. Performing arts also play a crucial role in shaping, preserving, and expanding social networks within the community. Interaction between performers and audiences in the Masked People Dance performance creates positive responses and enriches shared experiences. The Masked People Dance art plays a vital role in strengthening social relationships and preserving Malay cultural heritage. The dance performance is not just for entertainment but also a representation of the dynamics of social relations in daily life. Performing arts serve as an important means of expanding social networks and understanding cultural diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Baamboozle Game learning media in Social Studies (IPS) instruction for Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. The background of this study is based on the low level of student activeness and learning outcomes resulting from the use of conventional teaching methods that lack variation. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The research subjects were Grade VIII students who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using statistical tests to identify differences in learning outcomes between the two classes. The results indicate that the use of Baamboozle Game media has a positive effect on student activeness and learning outcomes. Students in the experimental class showed a higher improvement in learning outcomes compared to those in the control class. In addition, the learning atmosphere became more interactive, enjoyable, and encouraged active student participation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Baamboozle Game learning media is effective for Social Studies instruction in Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. This media is recommended as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of Social Studies learning in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the socio-cultural, economic, and educational aspects of border communities between Indonesia and Malaysia, with a focus on the Malay and Dayak ethnic groups in Paloh (Sambas Regency) and Jagoi Babang (Bengkayang Regency). Persistent disparities in welfare, educational quality, and national integration in Indonesia’s border regions have weakened nationalism and increased socio-economic dependence on Malaysia. On the border, civic education plays a crucial role in strengthening Indonesian nationalism, despite the community’s economic dependence on Malaysia. Through flag ceremonies, character education, and the integration of local wisdom into the curriculum, schools function as the final bastion of nationalism, safeguarding the national identity of the younger generation in the face of economic inequality and transnational influences. Using a qualitative approach that integrates ethnographic and etnopedagogic methods, data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that Indonesian border communities experience a dual identity, marked by both symbolic loyalty to Indonesia and pragmatic attachment to Sarawak, Malaysia. Economic disparities between the two countries, especially in access to infrastructure, education, and labour markets, have heightened social dependency and eroded Indonesia’s national identity. However, the integration of local wisdom and etnopedagogic practices in education in both countries has proven effective in strengthening cultural resilience, social cohesion, and national consciousness among students. Cultural rituals such as Gawai Dayak serve as transnational spaces of solidarity that both connect and differentiate the two nations.

Abstract

Literacy remains a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas, as reflected in low reading interest and literacy achievement. West Kalimantan Province, including Punggur Kecil Village in Kubu Raya Regency, is among the regions with relatively low literacy levels, highlighting the need for community-based literacy initiatives. This study aims to examine the role of the management of the Smart House Punggur Cerdas Community Reading Garden (Taman Bacaan Masyarakat/TBM) in fostering a literacy culture within the community. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving TBM managers, community members, and village stakeholders. Data analysis followed qualitative descriptive procedures, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that TBM managers act as agents of social change by serving as catalysts, mediators, information providers, and learning facilitators. Through structured, inclusive, and sustainable literacy programs, the TBM has contributed to gradual improvements in reading habits, learning attitudes, and the community’s ability to access, understand, and critically engage with information. Literacy transformation occurs across multiple levels, from performative to epistemic literacy, and is supported by community participation, cross-sector collaboration, and adequate facilities. However, challenges such as limited human resources and low reading interest among certain groups remain. Strengthening managerial capacity and ensuring sustained multi-stakeholder support are essential for maintaining literacy culture transformation in rural communities.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the outcomes of implementing video-based Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in sociology instruction as an effort to enhance the analytical thinking skills of Grade XI Sociology 4 students at MAN 2 Pontianak. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis was conducted using information from seven informants. The findings indicate that (1) In the aspect of distinguishing problems, most students were able to understand the issues presented in the video, separate essential information, and differentiate elements of the conflict, such as causes, consequences, and perspectives of the parties involved. Moreover, students’ engagement and enthusiasm in the learning process also increased. (2) In the aspect of organizing problems, students were able to present information from the video in a structured manner, compile the viewpoints of various parties involved in the conflict, and arrange causes and consequences into a logical sequence. (3) In the aspect of connecting problems, students were able to relate the conflict to the theories studied and provide analytically sound and realistic solutions to the problems. This study describes the outcomes of implementing video-based PBL as an effort to enhance the analytical thinking skills of Grade XI Sociology 4 students at MAN 2 Pontianak. In this context, analytical thinking is categorized into three aspects: distinguishing, organizing, and connecting.
