Abstract

Fenomena kebumian dan antariksa adalah sumber inspirasi besar untuk pendidikan. Memahami bencana dan mempersiapkan diri sangat penting dalam menghadapi situasi darurat. Literasi kebencanaan memberikan pemahaman tentang risiko bencana, langkah-langkah persiapan, dan tindakan yang harus diambil ketika bencana terjadi. Penanaman sikap spiritual dapat memberikan ketenangan dan kekuatan batin yang dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi krisis. Pengembangan pola pikir spiritual dapat memberi orang ketenangan batin dan kekuatan yang mereka butuhkan ketika menghadapi bencana. penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa terhadap penanaman sikap spiritual dalam peningkatan literasi kebencanaan melalui fenomena kebumian dan antariksa. Kebutuhan ini termasuk salah satu kegiatan dalam perkuliahan IPBA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan fisika semester 4. Data penelitian diperoleh dari kegiatan observasi awal dan pengisian angket kebutuhan terhadap penanaman sikap spiritual yang diinginkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan penanaman sikap spiritual dalam perkuliahan IPBA sehingga dengan adanya penanaman sikap spiritual akan meningkatkan literasi kebencanaan. Mahasiswa membutuhkan sajian fenomena kebumian dan antariksa untuk penanaman sikap spiritual  dan peningkatan literasi kebencanaan.

Abstract

The extent of students' abilities is an important thing to consider because it is part of the learning process. This research analyzes students' abilities in the subject matter measurement physics. Tools that are used is a ministep Rasch analysis. Descriptive quantitative was used in the study by providing an overview of the student's results and supported by data in the form of numbers from Rasch analysis. A total of 14 participant students as respondents in this research with the criteria of having received physics and measurement materialize Merdeka Curriculum in his learning. The results of this research state that ability learners are still classified as low, although it has obtained that material, while Cronbach's alpha index (0.62) is in the moderate category. Besides that, suitability questions for students still need to be classified as low. That way, it is important to balance the equations with students' abilities or vice versa. In the future, study continuation is required to increase students' abilities. According to the claim from the Merdeka Curriculum, it is learning more about the essentials.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain kegiatan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada keterampilan kerja ilmiah, pengelolaan alat musik tradisional dan pengelolaan perangkat teknologi digital sebagai sumber belajar melalui matakuliah gelombang, selain itu mengetahui tingkat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan respon mahasiswa terhadap desain kegiatan pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Desain pembelajaran dilakukan dengan cara studi literatur dan studi kasus pada sejumlah kelompok belajar (19 orang mahasiswa) calon guru fisika. Aspek-aspek desain dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dievaluasi berdasarkan pengamatan dan respon mahasiswa menggunakan lembar observasi serta kuisioner, sedangkan tanggapan responden dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan rating scale. Orientasi desain pembelajaran gelombang dalam penelitian ini adalah menghubungkan sains dengan teknologi dan masyarakat, mengintegrasikan konten dengan proses penyelidikan ilmiah serta sumber belajar yang kontekstual dengan objek atau peristiwa yang dekat dengan mahasiswa, sekaligus dapat membentuk nilai-nilai budaya. Secara umum setiap aspek dalam desain perkuliahan dapat terlaksana sepenuhnya, dengan rata-rata 98,12%. Sementara itu respon mahasiswa terhadap desain pembelajaran dapat diterima secara positif untuk setiap aspek dari implementasi program pembelajaran dengan skor rata-rata 399,91 (S). Disimpulkan bahwa desain perkuliahan yang dibangun dicirikan oleh sintaks yang meliputi kegiatan awal, eksplorasi, pemfokusan, penyelidikan/inkuiri, elaborasi, konfirmasi, dan kegiatan akhir/penutup, sedangkan sumber belajar melibatkan alat musik tradisional, komputer dan smartphone. Desain pembelajaran dapat mengembangkan kualitas ilmiah mahasiswa calon guru fisika yang diindikasikacn oleh porsentase keterlaksanaan yang mencapai target dan respon positif mahasiswa setelah diterapkannya dalam kegiatan perkuliahan.Design of Wave Learning to Form Prospective Students of Physics Teachers who are Skilled, Cultured and Literacy of Digital TechnologyAbstractThe purpose of this study is to design learning activities oriented to scientific performance, management of traditional music instruments and digital technology devices as a source of learning on wave courses, knowing the profile of the implementation of learning, and student responses to the design of learning activities that are applied. Learning design is done by means of literature studies and case studies in groups (19 students) prospective physics teachers. The aspects of design and implementation of learning are evaluated based on observations and responses of students using observation sheets and questionnaires, while respondents responses are analyzed descriptively based on rating scale. The orientation of the wave learning design in this research is connecting science with technology and culture, integrating content with scientific inquiry processes and learning resources that are contextual with objects or events that are close to students, as well as forming cultural values. In general, every aspect in the design of lectures can be fully implemented, with an average of 98.12%. Meanwhile student responses to learning designs can be positively received for every aspect of the implementation of learning programs with an average score of 399.91 (S). It was concluded that the learning design that was built was characterized by syntax which included initial activities, exploration, focusing, inquiry, elaboration, confirmation, and closing section activities, while learning resources involved traditional musical instruments, computers and smartphones. The learning design can develop the scientific quality of the prospective physics teacher students as indicated by the percentage of accomplishment that reaches the target and the positive response of students after applying it in lecture activities.

Abstract

The 21st century requires students to have abilities and competencies that are by the times. These abilities and competencies include Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication Skills, and Collaboration. This study aims to examine the improvement of Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) literacy in aspects of knowledge after applied learning using STEM-based modules. The research method is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest one group. The population of this study is class X high school students in one of the high schools in Karawang, Indonesia. The institution used a multiple-choice question of 25 questions consisting of 12 questions to measure scientific literacy, 6 questions to measure mathematical literacy, and 7 questions to measure technological engineering literacy. The increase in STEM literacy is seen from the normalization gain (n-gain) analysis. STEM literacy ability has increased by looking at the results in gain g obtained by 0.69 in the medium category. The increase in STEM literacy in the knowledge aspect of science literacy results in gain g obtained by 0.66 in the medium category, the n-gain basic mathematical literacy obtained by 0.71 in the high category, and the technology-engineering n-gain literacy obtained by 0.73 in the high category. this shows that learning by using STEM-based modules can improve STEM literacy skills in alternative energy materials.

Abstract

This research is a preliminary study aimed at analyzing the methods of teaching basic physics applied in the pharmacy program, as well as its implications for the relevance of physics concepts in pharmacy courses and the development of students' system thinking skills. A cross-sectional survey method was used, employing a structured questionnaire based on the Likert scale, involving physics course instructors from private and public universities. The research findings indicate that, although basic physics has significant potential in contributing to the development of the system thinking skills required by pharmacy graduates, challenges in integrating physics concepts with pharmacy courses still exist. The pharmacy curriculum's focus on pharmaceutical and health aspects may overlook students' understanding of basic physics. Therefore, the importance of developing teaching methods and physics laboratory practices that are appropriate for the pharmacy context becomes clearer. This research concluded that there is a need for the development of more suitable learning methods for basic physics courses in the pharmacy program, with an emphasis on developing system thinking skills crucial in the field of health, and the integration of pharmacy laboratories as a learning support. This is expected to enhance the understanding of physics concepts in the pharmacy context and build relevant system thinking skills for graduates of the pharmacy program.

Abstract

This article aims to picture the environmental literacy of the pre-service science teachers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI). The highlighted environmental literacy consists of aspects of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of students related to environmental issues which are also part of the two themes of Educational for Sustainable Development (ESD), namely the theme of water and the theme of energy. Data were obtained through validated test items and questionnaire instruments. The results of this study obtained that students' environmental literacy was in the sufficient category, with an overall average percentage of environmental literacy for prospective science teacher students of 59.19. In addition, it was also obtained that the average percentage of environmental literacy of female students for the three aspects was higher than that of male students, although statistically it was concluded that there was no difference in environmental literacy of male students compared to female students. These results indicate that it is necessary to innovate lectures so that students' environmental literacy increases. One of the potential courses is Environmental Education which can be implemented on a project basis in accordance with the issues or themes in ESD.

Abstract

Pendidikan untuk Pembangunan Berkelanjutan/Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) sangat penting untuk dipahami oleh setiap orang dalam menghadapi tantangan global saat ini. Fakta yang terjadi di Indonesia menyatakan bahwa tidak ada guru dengan latar belakang ESD, sehingga guru IPA dipercaya mampu mengintegrasikan ESD ke dalam pembelajaran IPA. Namun kenyataannya, guru IPA yang ada belum siap mengintegrasikan ESD dalam pembelajarannya. Padahal, para guru IPA sering berpartisipasi dalam beberapa program pelatihan guru. Sayangnya, pelatihan yang dilakukan masih sebatas mengenai pengetahuan pendidikan lingkungan, belum mampu mengembangkan kesadaran dan tindakan berkelanjutan. Terlebih aspek yang dibahas pada pelatihan, belum sampai membahas ketiga aspek ESD yaitu lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Oleh karena itu, sangatlah penting untuk membuat program pelatihan yang mampu mengembangkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan tindakan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini mencoba merancang program pelatihan guru yang dapat mengembangkan kompetensi guru IPA dalam mengajarkan ESD. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Prosedur umum program pelatihan guru terdiri dari Orientasi I, Refleksi I, Adaptasi, Perencanaan I, Pelaksanaan I, Evaluasi I, Refleksi II, Orientasi II, Perencanaan II, Pelaksanaan II, Aksi, Evaluasi II, dan Refleksi III. Inti dari pembelajaran IPA berbasis ESD adalah pembelajaran berorientasi aksi dan adanya pembelajaran transformatif. Guru IPA akan merefleksi dan memodifikasi rancangan pembelajarannya menjadi rancangan pembelajaran berorientasi ESD, guru IPA akan mengimplementasikan rancangannya tersebut sebanyak dua kali selama pelatihan. Selain itu, guru IPA akan membantu siswa merancang, membuat, dan melakukan tindakan ramah lingkungan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pada bagian akhir guru dan siswa bersama-sama mensosialisasikan aksi ramah lingkungan dan mengajak masyarakat untuk berkontribusi dalam implementasi aksi ramah lingkungan. Semakin banyak orang yang berpartisipasi dalam aksi ramah lingkungan, semakin besar dampaknya terhadap keberhasilan program. Semoga program ini berdampak besar dan memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan bagi pengembangan gaya hidup berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Integrasi prinsip-prinsip Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) ke dalam pendidikan IPA sangat penting untuk membentuk individu yang peduli lingkungan dan bertanggung jawab secara sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis pemetaan bibliometrik menggunakan VOSViewer untuk mengeksplorasi tren penelitian dan tema-tema dalam bidang ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis pemetaan bibliometrik dengan menggunakan VOSViewer, sebuah perangkat lunak untuk memvisualisasikan dan menganalisis data bibliografi. Pencarian komprehensif dilakukan dalam database akademik Scopus untuk mendapatkan artikel yang terkait dengan fondasi pendidikan IPA untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam 10 tahun terakhir. Analisis ini berfokus pada co-citation analysis, co-occurrence analysis, dan keyword untuk mengidentifikasi tema penelitian utama dan publikasi yang berpengaruh. Analisis pemetaan bibliometrik mengungkapkan beberapa temuan menarik. Pertama, terdapat minat yang semakin meningkat pada tema fondasi pendidikan IPA untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh jumlah publikasi yang meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Kedua, tema-tema penelitian utama yang diidentifikasi meliputi kesadaran lingkungan, keadilan sosial, keterlibatan masyarakat, dan etika dalam pendidikan sains. Ketiga, publikasi dan penulis yang berpengaruh diidentifikasi, menyediakan sumber daya berharga untuk eksplorasi dan kolaborasi lebih lanjut. Temuan-temuan ini menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan fondasi sosial ke dalam pendidikan IPA untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan. Hasil dari penelitian ini memiliki implikasi untuk pengembangan kurikulum, pelatihan guru, dan kebijakan pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk membekali individu dengan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk mengatasi tantangan keberlanjutan global.

Abstract

Education currently supported by technological developments such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. Science learning based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) is needed as the main goal in learning. AI in teacher professional developments are the new way to be implemented. The purpose of this research was to describe the competency enhancement program for science teacher that assisted by AI in designing HOTS-based integrated science learning. 29 science teachers in West Java participated in this program. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data from all participants. The results revealed that the program held in blended learning with face-to-face sessions about higher order thinking skills in science learning, use of multiple representations in science learning, construct of science learnings’ theme, integrated science learning, and continued by online learning by web based-AI. Science teachers perceived helpfulness to integrate various science content, followed courses, held discussion, answer the tests, and validating lesson plan products. Teachers has new experiences for the implementation program.

Abstract

The case method and team-based projects in the mechanics course are designed to help science teacher candidates master the principles of mechanics. This study aims to analyze the readiness and constraints of technological integration in implementing the case method and team-based projects in the mechanics course of the natural science education program. The study was conducted using a survey method with respondents or samples consisting of two lecturers teaching the mechanics course, 64 pre-service science teachers, and an analysis of the mechanics course documents in the Science Education Study Program at a state university in Central Java, Indonesia. Data collection techniques for this study were carried out using a blended approach (online and face-to-face), a Google Forms questionnaire, online interviews (zoom meeting), and document review. Data analysis was carried out using the triangulation method, which combines various predetermined data and sources, including data from the mechanics course lecturers and students and the lecture tool documents. The results indicate that the readiness for implementing the case method and team-based project in the mechanics course is supported by a good understanding from lecturers and students and adequate resources. The student’s understanding of the approaches used by the lecturer obtained concept approach (71.40%), direct instruction model (85.70%), and discussion method (78.60%). In its implementation, the case method follows the theory and expectations in the mechanics lectures in the curriculum documents. Meanwhile, team-based projects still need improvement and development in their application to the mechanics course. The skills trained in the mechanics course are still limited to critical thinking skills, communication, and collaboration. Generic science skills have been trained but have not been specifically labeled, and creative thinking skills have not been technically facilitated to be trained. The carrying capacity of the learning environment is quite good based on ICT. However, it is still dominated by PowerPoint presentations and virtual lab applications, while coding blocks and AR-VR have not yet been developed. The conclusion indicates that while there is strong readiness and adequate resources for implementing the case method and team-based projects in the mechanics course, significant constraints exist in developing creative thinking skills, generic science skills, and consistency in applying learning models. Specific improvements are needed in the practical application of team-based projects and the integration of ICT that can assist mechanics lectures, such as coding blocks and AR-VR technology. It is recommended to enhance comprehension of the case method and team-based projects among lecturers and students and to advance technological integration, especially focusing on AR-VR and coding blocks.
