Abstract

Functional literacy learning includes reading, writing, counting and communicating using Indonesian language that is transformed into the application of dance culture. The purpose of the research is to know the impact of functional literacy learning and its application to the culture of molihi dilaesare dance, motosau molihi dance, dance lense mentoka and kalapea lense dance. The Research Method uses evaluation studies aimed at knowing the impact of functional literacy learning and its transformation in culture. The results stated that functional literacy learning can increase the interest in reading, writing, counting and communicating using Indonesian language transformed into dance culture in Konawe Islands Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the transition from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Primary School (PS) by building school readiness. Utilizing an analysis of relevant articles published between 2020-2024 from Google Scholar with the keyword "Transition ECE-PS," this research explores factors supporting children's readiness for this transition phase. The research method involves examining the role of teachers, the utilization of technology, the involvement of parents, and the psychological aspects of children as crucial elements in fostering this readiness. Through understanding the findings from various studies, this research provides foundation for educational stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of ECE-PS transition programs. In conclusion, comprehensive and evidence-based strategies are needed to create a positive transition experience for children in their early education stages.

Abstract

This study explores the roles of vision, mission, and academic supervision in improving the quality of education at kindergartens (TK) in Kendari City. Interviews with school principals and observations reveal that vision and mission play strategic roles in guiding educational activities. Various kindergartens' visions include character development, local culture, and STEAM approaches, while missions outline concrete steps to achieve these visions. Academic supervision showed varied results, with TK Negeri 1 and TK Negeri 4 demonstrating high effectiveness due to constructive feedback and clear goals. In contrast, TK Negeri 2 and TK Nur Ichsany face challenges related to time efficiency and the development of evaluation instruments. Effective academic supervision contributes to improving teaching quality and student learning outcomes, although some areas require improvement for optimal efficiency. Innovative strategies, such as empowering teachers through additional training and coaching, as well as regular monitoring, are identified as key to creating a supportive learning environment. These findings support educational management theory emphasizing the importance of vision, mission, and supervision in early childhood education, and highlight the need for a holistic approach to enhancing education quality at kindergartens in Kendari.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of blaming teachers for disciplining students in elementary schools, focusing on the gap between public perceptions and on-ground realities. Discipline is a crucial element in shaping students' character; however, teachers' disciplinary actions are often perceived as excessive, leading to accusations of ethical violations or abuse. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, involving in-depth interviews with teachers, students, parents, and school officials from three urban elementary schools. The findings reveal that negative public perceptions of teachers' disciplinary actions are frequently based on incomplete information, lacking an understanding of the school context and dynamics. On the other hand, some teachers acknowledge the need for more training in non-violent classroom management, influencing their disciplinary approaches. These findings highlight the importance of transparent communication between schools and parents and the need for intensive teacher training on empathy-based discipline management. This study contributes to formulating strategies to reduce misunderstandings between communities and schools and supports the creation of a more harmonious educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the independent efforts undertaken by teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Islam Meeto in improving their professional skills. It also explores the supporting and inhibiting factors in these efforts, as well as their impact on the quality of learning. Using qualitative methods through teacher interviews and document analysis, the findings reveal that teachers’ motivations vary, ranging from moral responsibility to the demands of scientific development. Independent efforts identified include reading academic literature, participating in training, and engaging in collegial collaboration. Nevertheless, teachers face obstacles such as limited time and restricted access to appropriate learning resources. Despite these challenges, the independent efforts contribute positively to enhancing the quality of learning and improving students’ understanding.

Abstract

This study examines the quality of the learning environment at SMP Negeri 2 Kolaka Utara by analyzing the interaction between structural, pedagogical, and socio-economic factors within a rural public secondary school context. Employing a qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis involving the school principal, teachers, and parents, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that limitations in educational infrastructure, uneven development of teachers’ professional competencies, low parental engagement, and students’ socio-economic constraints jointly shape the learning environment and hinder its optimal development. Rather than functioning as isolated issues, these factors form an interconnected system that influences teaching effectiveness and student learning experiences. This study highlights that improvements in learning environment quality require an integrated, multi-stakeholder approach that aligns school management practices, teacher capacity development, and community participation. The novelty of this research lies in its holistic analytical framework, which moves beyond single-factor explanations by demonstrating how multiple dimensions simultaneously affect learning environments in rural secondary schools. The study contributes to educational management and school improvement literature by providing empirical insights that support context-responsive and sustainable strategies for enhancing learning environments in under-resourced educational settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan multimedia interaktif berbasis Android pada siswa SMP Negeri 33 Makassar. Multimedia interaktif berbasis Android ini mengadopsi dari model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu. Tahap Analisis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Pada tahap validasi melibatkan tiga orang validator diantaranya 2 orang ahli materi, dan 2 orang ahli media pembelajaran. Adapun lembar validasi yang digunakan berbentuk skala likert terhadap Multimedia interaktif berbasis Android. Adapun pada penelitian ini menghasilkan multimedia interaktif berbasis  android pada mata pelajaran IPA siswa SMP Negeri 33 Makassar dengan hasil penilaian oleh ahli materi dengan rata-rata skor 4,91, hasil penilaian oleh ahli media dengan skor rata-rata 4,5. Dengan demikian kriteria multimedia pembelajaran interaktif berbasis android secara keseluruhan sudah terpenuhi dan tergolong kriteria sangat valid untuk digunakan di Sekolah SMP Negeri 33 Makassar. This study aims to describe Android-based interactive multimedia for students at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar. This Android-based interactive multimedia adopts the ADDIE development model used in this study, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The validation stage involved three validators: two material experts and two learning media experts. The validation sheet used was a Likert scale for Android-based interactive multimedia. This study resulted in Android-based interactive multimedia for science subjects at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar, with an average score of 4.91 from the material experts and 4.5 from the media experts. Thus, the overall criteria for Android-based interactive learning multimedia have been met and are classified as very valid for use at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar.

Abstract

Community participation is an important element in realizing democratic and accountable village development planning. The Village Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangdes) is designed as a participatory forum to accommodate the aspirations of the community in determining village development priorities. However, in practice, community participation often does not run effectively. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of community participation in Musrenbangdes in Bulogading Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency, and identify the factors that affect it. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection was carried out through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of village governments, Village Consultative Bodies (BPD), community leaders, and villagers. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results of the study show that community participation in Musrenbangdes has been running, but its effectiveness is still not optimal. Community participation tends to be formalistic and dominated by certain groups, while active community involvement in decision-making is still limited. Factors that affect these conditions include the level of community understanding, information disclosure, and the role of the village government in facilitating participation. This research contributes to the development of Public Administration Science, especially related to the study of community participation and village development planning, as well as providing practical recommendations for village governments in improving the quality of the implementation of Musrenbangdes.

Abstract

Communication is an important element in the learning process in higher education because it determines the success of material delivery and student involvement. However, in practice, there are still various communication obstacles between lecturers and students that have an impact on learning effectiveness. This study aims to describe the communication strategies of lecturers and students in the learning process and identify the factors that support and hinder the effectiveness of academic communication in the Office Administration Education Study Program, State University of Makassar. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study showed that lecturers applied communication strategies through the use of clear language, a variety of learning methods, providing feedback, and the creation of a dialogical classroom atmosphere. Students show communication strategies through participation in discussions, expressions of opinions, and responses to learning materials, although there are still some students who are passive. Communication interactions tend to be two-way, but under certain conditions, one-way communication is still found. Factors supporting communication effectiveness include lecturer openness, student motivation, and conducive classroom atmosphere, while inhibiting factors include differences in communication skills and limited learning time. This research contributes to the development of communication science and education by providing an understanding of the importance of communication strategies in improving the quality of learning in higher education.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut transformasi dalam praktik pembelajaran, namun banyak sekolah di Indonesia, termasuk UPT SMPN 2 Mappakasunggu, masih berada pada fase transisi dengan pemanfaatan teknologi yang terbatas dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang konvensional. Kondisi ini berpotensi menghambat terwujudnya pembelajaran mendalam (deep learning) yang menekankan pemahaman konseptual, berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan platform desain digital Canva dalam mendukung terciptanya pembelajaran mendalam pada peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 4 orang guru dan 30 orang siswa kelas VII dan VIII UPT SMPN 2 Mappakasunggu sebagai subjek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan secara triangulasi melalui observasi partisipatif terhadap 8 pertemuan pembelajaran, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan siswa, serta analisis dokumentasi berupa 45 artefak karya siswa, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), dan dokumen pendukung sekolah. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara interaktif dengan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Canva berhasil dimanfaatkan terutama sebagai alat produksi bagi siswa untuk membuat poster, infografis, dan presentasi. Pemanfaatan ini efektif mendorong proses kognitif mendalam (menganalisis, mengevaluasi, mencipta), meningkatkan keterlibatan, motivasi, kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan literasi digital siswa. Data pendukung kuantitatif juga menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan rata-rata nilai tugas dari 58,00 menjadi 85,00 dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 100%. Dengan demikian, Canva terbukti dapat berfungsi sebagai katalis pedagogis yang strategis untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran mendalam di sekolah yang sedang bertransisi digital.
