Abstract

Introduction: The lungs are the organs where cancer develops; abnormal cellular development occurs from cells in the bronchi. Many sources indicate a strong correlation between smoking habits and the etiology of lung cancer. Nowadays, the habit of smoking has become a normal occurrence among teenagers, which is causing a high incidence of lung cancer. Objective: The purpose of this dedication to the community is to raise knowledge and provide education to adolescents about lung cancer in a comprehensive way. Method: The activities of dedication to this community are carried out with direct approval on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 09.00 to 11.00 BGB. The target of this activity is the students of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga, with 28 participants. Submission of material using the lecture/presentation method and question answering using digital media (PPT) and print media, as well as post-test work to determine the level of knowledge of the participants about lung cancer. Result: Based on the survey of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga students, the participants' characteristics can be grouped by age, gender, and history of smoking. There were nine 16-year-olds, 16 17-year-old students, one 18-year-old student, one 19-year-long student, and one 20-year-old student. By sex, there were 17 male students and 11 female students. There was also a student history of smoking: 6 students smoked and 22 did not smoke. Conclusion: The treatment of lung cancer in these teenagers is going smoothly. There was an increase in knowledge among students, as demonstrated by the post-test results, which showed that the knowledge level of the majority of participants was high, with a total of 15 students, an average of 10 students, and a low 3 students.

Abstract

Introduction:. Anxiety is a frequent psychological reaction in patients before surgery. Patients should psychologically prepare for the operation since they will likely be afraid of needles, the pain that will accompany the incisions, the anaesthesia, and the potential complications that might arise, such as permanent impairment or even death. Objective: Efforts to improve the knowledge and skills of preoperative sectio caesarea patients about autogenic therapy techniques to reduce anxiety at the Banjarnegara Islamic Hospital. Method: Methods carried out Identifying the anxiety scale of activity participants before autogenic therapy using the APAIS anxiety measuring instrument, identifying the level of knowledge of participants before education related to autogenic therapy by filling out a questionnaire. provide education related to autogeni Result: After being given education, the majority of participants' knowledge level was in the high knowledge category of 20 participants (87%). Community Service participants education and implementation of autogenic therapy through audio visual media at Banjarnegara Islamic Hospital showed that before implementation, the majority of participants' anxiety was in the category of severe anxiety as many as 13 participants (56.5%) While after the implementation was given, the majority of participants' anxiety category was in the mild anxiety category as many as 13 participants (56.5%). Conclusion: The findings of this activity show that patients' anxiety levels go down after receiving autogenic treatment and their knowledge goes up after receiving instruction.

Abstract

Introduction: A caesarean section is a surgical delivery technique in which the infant is removed through incisions in the mother's abdomen and uterus. Each delivery procedure might exert psychological effects on the mother, especially with anxiety. A non-pharmacological approach to mitigate anxiety involves educating patients about spinal anaesthesia with audiovisual materials. Objective: This community service project aims to provide education through audiovisual means to reduce tension and lower anxiety in pre-operative caesarean section patients undergoing spinal anesthesia. Method: The method involved delivering a 10-minute audiovisual education session to 30 participants and measuring anxiety using the APAIS tool in the labor ward. Result: The results show that the level of anxiety before the education was categorized as mild anxiety for 6 participants (20.0%), moderate anxiety for 15 participants (50.0%), severe anxiety for 6 participants (20.0%), and very severe anxiety for 3 participants (10.0%). After the education, the majority of participants reported mild anxiety at 17 (56.7%), moderate anxiety at 10 (33.7%), severe anxiety at 2 (6.7%), with no participants reporting very severe anxiety (0%), and 1 participant (3.3%) reported no anxiety. Conclusion: The conclusion of this community service project is that education on spinal anesthesia using audiovisual media is quite effective in reducing anxiety in pre-caesarean section patients

Abstract

Introduction: There are both religious and medical reasons for performing circumcision. There are many different approaches to circumcision, but it is still one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide. Children often experience significant levels of apprehension, fear, and pain before the circumcision procedure. Negative consequences, such as uncooperative circumcision, result from uncontrollable anxiety reactions. Objective: Using plasticine play therapy, this community service project aims to reduce anxiety in adolescent patients who will undergo circumcision surgery. This volunteer activity was conducted at Rathnoe Khitan Ngawi Clinic. Method: Implementing a hands-on plasticine play therapy method, followed by discussion and assessment, was the strategy used. Before and after receiving plasticine play therapy, the children's anxiety levels were assessed. Children at Rathnoe Khitan Ngawi Clinic who were waiting to be circumcised were the beneficiaries of this community service activity. Result: The results of this PkM are the anxiety level of the participants before the implementation of plasticine play therapy, the majority of participants felt moderate anxiety as many as 17 participants (85%), and after the implementation of plasticine play therapy there was a decrease in the anxiety scale to mild as many as 17 participants (85%). Conclusion: Based on the Wilcoxon test, the p-value is 0.001, which means that the p-value <0.05, it is concluded that there is an effect of pre and post implementation of play platisin therapy on reducing anxiety levels in children pre-circumcision surgery at the Rathnoe Khitan Ngawi Clinic.

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Diarrhea is a condition in which there is an increase in the number of bowel movements that occurs as a result of an infection. A child can be said to have experienced diarrhea if the volume of stool is measured greater than 10ml/kg per day. Objective: The aim of this community service was to improve the awareness and health of the in primary school 01 Mersi students. This study aims to prevent and provide first aid for diarrheal diseases in children Method: The method implemented to overcome the problem of diarrhea in elementary school children is by conducting direct counseling on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 07.30-08.30 WIB. The target audience is 5th students at primary school 01 Mersi, with 30 participants. Then, using lecture and discussion methods with media and PowerPoint slides, leaflet,and video about diarrhea, about the importance of Definition of diarrhea, prevention and treatment of diarrhea, symptoms of diarrhea, causes of diarrhea, first aid for diarrhea, how to handle diarrhea. Demonstration about diarrhea using answering questionnaires, lectures, and showing videos about diarrhea and handwashing. The counseling process was conducted group for about an hour. Result: The results are characteristics overview of knowledge of having diarrhea. First, The dominant children aged 11 years and boys 16 people who participated in the counseling. Second, 21 children who have never diarrhea. Conclusion: Diarrhea counseling activities are well organized. There is an increase in childrens knowledge about the importance of maintaining cleanliness to avoid diarrhea.
