Abstract

Blumea balsamifera (sembung) is a medicinal plant with well-documented antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. However, the systematic identification of its bioactive compounds remains a significant challenge due to the complexity and high dimensionality of LC–MS (Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry) data. This study aims to develop a robust computational framework for automated compound identification using a hybrid modeling approach.A hybrid model integrating Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) was employed to enhance feature extraction and classification performance. The LSTM component was utilized to capture sequential dependencies in spectral data, while XGBoost performed optimized classification through gradient boosting. This integration enables efficient handling of complex spectral patterns and improves predictive accuracy. The proposed model achieved an accuracy of 91%, demonstrating strong performance in classifying and identifying bioactive compounds. Feature importance analysis identified several key compounds contributing to the model predictions, including Luteolin-7-methyl-ether, Umbelliferone, Blumeatin, Dihydroquercetin-7,4′-dimethylether, Chrysosplenol C, Blumealactone B, and Blumeaene E. These compounds are associated with known pharmacological activities, supporting the therapeutic relevance of B. balsamifera. The proposed hybrid LSTM–XGBoost framework provides an effective and scalable approach for LC–MS-based compound identification. This method reduces analytical complexity, enhances classification reliability, and offers a data-driven strategy for accelerating phytochemical research and bioactive compound validation

Abstract

Construction projects in DIY have high complexity because they are located in disaster-prone areas such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides, so they require structured risk management. This research aims to analyze the influence of cost, quality, time, and accident risk identification on disaster risk management of construction projects. The research employed a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents consist of contractors, consultants, and project supervisors. Data were analyzed using statistical test multiple linear regression to examine the influence of each aspect on disaster risk management. The findings indicate that cost risk identification has a significant effect on risk management effectiveness, particularly in preventing budget overruns caused by external conditions such as material inflation and supply uncertainty. The quality aspect contributes substantially to improving construction resilience against disasters, in line with the application of quality standards based on SNI and ISO. The time aspect shows a clear influence on successful risk mitigation, as project delays increase vulnerability to disaster impacts. Meanwhile, accident risk identification is strongly related to the contractors’ readiness in implementing occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures to reduce potential human and material losses. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of integrating risk identification into the construction project management system in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. The findings provide practical implications for contractors, local governments, and other stakeholders in developing adaptive, measurable, and responsive risk management strategies in disaster-prone regions

Abstract

Local wisdom in fishing is the knowledge, values, and customary rules passed down from generation to generation by fishing communities regarding the utilization of marine resources. This wisdom serves as a guide for fishermen so that fishing activities maintain the balance of nature and the sustainability of fishery resources. Panggong Village, located in the coastal area of Meulaboh, is a community engaged in daily fishing. However, fishing is not merely an economic endeavor; it also encompasses numerous cultural values and social norms. The purpose of this study is to identify forms of local wisdom in fishing practices and analyze the role of the Panglima Laot (leader of the sea) in the fishing community of Panggong Village. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Qualitative research aims to explore in-depth social phenomena that emerge within the community, particularly regarding the contribution of local wisdom to fishing practices by fishermen. The results of this study indicate that local wisdom among Panggong fishermen is still preserved, as evidenced by fishing activities, social relationships, the existence of the Panglima Laot (leader of the sea) customary institution, fishing gear, and customary regulations at sea.

Abstract

Islamic education in elementary schools plays a vital role not only in building students’ cognitive religious knowledge but also in shaping their moral character deeply rooted in local culture and values. This study explores how the Islamic education curriculum is managed and integrated with local content at SDIT Kasih Ibu, East Karawang District, and examines its effectiveness in strengthening students’ moral development. Employing a qualitative case study approach grounded in curriculum integration theory (Beane, 1997) and local wisdom-based character education (Suyanto, 2018), data were gathered through in-depth interviews with principals, Islamic education teachers, and parents, participant observation of daily learning activities and school routines, and analysis of curriculum documents, lesson plans, and moral development records. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model strengthened by the constant comparative technique. The findings reveal three interconnected strategies: curriculum mapping that synergizes Islamic values such as akhlaq karimah and tauhid with local Karawang elements including gotong royong, silih asih, and traditional arts into thematic learning; positioning teachers as moral exemplars through consistent uswah hasanah practices and reflective mentoring; and the development of a habituative school culture via extracurricular activities, daily routines, and hidden curriculum such as subuh pengajian, environmental care, and peer mediation. These holistic and contextual approaches demonstrate that moral strengthening extends far beyond classroom instruction, permeating the entire school environment. Ultimately, this study concludes that integrative curriculum management aligned with local wisdom effectively nurtures students who are religiously grounded, culturally rooted, and socially adaptive, offering valuable insights for sustainable character education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruption to the global education system, particularly in STEM education, which requires direct interaction and experimental practice. This study aims to examine the phenomena of learning loss and the digital divide in post-pandemic STEM education and to identify recovery strategies. The method employed is a systematic literature review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach, focusing on peer-reviewed articles from 2020–2022 retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate that learning loss has occurred significantly, particularly in mathematics, and has been exacerbated by technological access disparities, leading to a widening gap in learning outcomes. The interaction of these two factors gives rise to learning inequality, which has the potential for long-term impacts on the quality of human resources in the STEM field. Therefore, comprehensive recovery strategies are needed through strengthening technology access, adapting competency-based curricula, utilizing educational technology, and implementing targeted interventions for vulnerable groups.
