Abstract

The current punishment for sexual crimes against children, limited to imprisonment, is deemed ineffective in deterring perpetrators. This article delves into this issue through the lens of positive and customary criminal law. Employing a doctrinal method and drawing from various legal sources, the article reveals that the existing punishment under the Indonesian Criminal Code and Child Protection Laws fails to significantly reduce the incidence of such crimes. As a potential solution, traditional law could serve as supplementary punishment, involving corporal punishment or fines payable to the state treasury. This suggests that customary law could complement judicial sanctions. However, the implementation of such additional measures warrants evaluation to address other environmental factors that may contribute to these crimes.

Abstract

The comprehensive utilization of renewable energy stands as a national priority within Indonesia's strategic framework aimed at achieving the net zero emissions target by 2060. Indonesia, a nation in which nearly 70% of its territory is comprised of oceans, possesses significant potential in wave energy as a renewable energy source. This sector presents promising opportunities for development and investment. This study focuses on the three-dimensional hydrodynamic study of Wave Energy Converter (WEC) technology based on oscillating flapping through a numerical approach. The findings of the characteristic test demonstrate that the oscillating flapping device exhibits a response characterized by a deviation in the oscillating tilt angle. The direct impact of ocean waves causes the flap to shift from its equilibrium position and continuously move back and forth with a particular frequency. The dynamics working on this device show a correlation between wave input and the response that occurs. The response parameters, including maximum angular deviation, average speed, and torque, have a similar trend to changes in wave period. The influence of ocean wave activity is observed to increase within the low wave period zone up to a designated period threshold. Overall, the oscillating flapping device demonstrates enhanced performance in low wave conditions. The average maximum output power is capable of reaching 1.5 Watts on A1, 3.5 Watts on A2, and 4.5 Watts on A3.

Abstract

Abstract

Because of insufficient education, the rising trend of people self-medicating poses a threat to proper drug handling, storage, and disposal. According to RISKESDAS (2013), there is a lot of medication storage, antibiotic overuse (without a prescription), and medication mistakes. The Painan Nagari Health Post in IV Jurai District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, which does not yet have chemists, implemented DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Store, Throw Away) education initiatives to address this issue. Midwives and other health workers were socialised at the Health Post in July 2024 as part of the activity, which also included the erection of educational posters. The activity's outcomes demonstrated that participants' understanding of rational drug management, particularly the need of avoiding medication mistakes and improper disposal, had improved. By preparing students to serve their communities in response to actual needs, DAGUSIBU programs help fulfil the tridharma of higher education and make health care providers more effective change agents in the field of public health. In Painan Nagari, this endeavour may pave the way for long-term progress in public health.

Abstract

Learning activities organized by the school during the New Normal period were using social media assistance, such as whats app, zoom, google classroom, You Tube, Edmodo. This learning model is considered effective in breaking the chain of the spread of the corona virus. Learning and education patterns at an early age are filled with playing, running, and filled with joy in the learning process. Therefore, it takes a pattern of intense parenting and mentoring from parents to assist their children in taking online learning. Because in early childhood, it is the most important stage for their growth and development towards adult humans. This article was written using a literature study research method. The results showed that parenting patterns and mentoring can be done by parents in accompanying online learning. Among them can be done in the form of giving attention, supervision, and always coordinating with the school and other students' parents so that their children can learn independently and reflect Islamic values according to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith.

Abstract

The professionalism of the counselor is judged by how well he understands himself first before seeing the problem or potential or understanding the counselee. The counselor over time in applying his knowledge can integrate the theory of techniques that are best understood and mastered, so that the counselor has his own style. Counselors in choosing their personal counseling theory use a counseling theory approach assessment instrument developed by Finch. The research method used is literature study and phenomenology which is carried out by finding literature sources, reading literature, selecting literature and analyzing related literature. Counselor professional development can be done through the development of counseling personal theory identity. This development will be very useful for counselors in showing characteristics, consistency, attractiveness and efficiency in the counseling process. The discovery of specialization in the field of counseling is carried out with 6 steps, namely understanding values and self-beliefs, deepening counseling theories and techniques, examining each theory and technique, practicing theories and techniques, integration and personalization. Counselor specialization in the field of behavioristic counseling is closely related to how the counselor's personal philosophy adheres to that everything that happens to the counselee is a consequence of the surrounding environment or antecedents. The discovery of a personal theory of counseling will be very useful for a counselor in his confidence in counseling practice, so that he is able and competent in applying the theory that has found its distinctiveness.

Abstract

Violations of the law committed by various groups, including political elites and law enforcers, indicate low legal awareness and practice of religious values in society. This community service aims to build legal awareness and religious understanding for female Correctional Inmates (WBP) at the Class IIA Tembilahan Correctional Institution, Indragiri Hilir, Riau. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) with an approach of observation, interviews, lectures, and worship practices. Activities are carried out every Friday for one year (January–December 2024), covering religious material (Al-Quran, tauhid, fiqh, morals) and law (criminal sanctions, legal awareness). The results of the community service show an increase in WBP's understanding of religion in worship practices such as prayer and thaharah, as well as a growing awareness of the legal consequences of the crimes they commit. However, the ability to read the Qur'an has not fully reached the target. This activity also has a positive psychological impact, such as regret for mistakes and determination not to repeat violations. The implication is that holistic assistance based on religion and law can be an effective model in fostering prisoners for better social reintegration.

Abstract

The low level of prosocial behavior among junior high school students poses potential issues in social interactions, such as a lack of solidarity, indifference, and peer conflicts. This condition can also negatively impact academic success. This study aims to analyze the role of the cultural value suki toka apa in group counseling services using symbolic modeling techniques to enhance prosocial behavior among junior high school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, involving 71 eighth-grade students. The findings revealed that the application of group counseling with symbolic modeling techniques integrating the value of suki toka apa significantly improved students' prosocial behavior. This is evidenced by the Wilcoxon hypothesis test results, which showed a p-value of 0.022, smaller than the significance level (α = 0.05). Furthermore, the Mann-Whitney U Test, used to identify significant differences between the experimental and control groups, yielded a p-value of 0.005 (0.005 < 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In conclusion, integrating the value of suki toka apa into group counseling services with symbolic modeling techniques enables students to internalize and apply prosocial behavior more effectively, ultimately fostering solidarity and a sense of togetherness among them.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of career consulting program in SMK Negeri 5 Malang with mixed methods approach. Quantitative Data were obtained through Likert scale-based evaluation instruments filled by 4 BK teachers, while qualitative data were collected through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results showed an average program implementation score of 81% (good category), with variations in achievement between BK teachers (range 75.71% -90%). Descriptive statistical analysis revealed abnormal data distribution (Shapiro-Wilk p-value <0.001) and standard deviation 0.649-0.857, indicating implementation inconsistency. Qualitative findings show that although the program has been implemented regularly with the involvement of parents and school stakeholders, the evaluation documentation is still oral and need assessment needs to be optimized. The discrepancy analysis model identifies important aspects that are not implemented (Quadrant II) such as written evaluation systems and service standardization. This study concludes that the career consulting program has met the minimum standards that require improvements in documentation and consistency of implementation.
