Abstract

ABSTRAKKontaminan yang disebabkan oleh hidrokarbon aromatik pada lingkungan mangrove menjadi perhatian serius, karena dampak yang ditimbulkan dapat berakibat berkurangnya fungsi sistem ekologi mangrove secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan dampak hidrokarbon aromatik terhadap ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2014 hingga bulan Februari 2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa hidrokarbon aromatik terdiri atas; stirena 2,4,6-trimetil, xilena, stirena, fenantrena dan naftalena 2-benzil. Dampak yang ditimbulkan berupa terjadinya kematian massal terhadap mangrove. Alternatif penanganan kandungan hidrokarbon aromatik pada mangrove adalah dengan metode fitoremediasi. ABSTRACTContaminants of aromatic hydrocarbon on mangrove zone has been a concern seriously, due to the impacts will reduce the overall ecological function of mangrove. The study aims to know kinds and impact of aromatic hydrocarbons of mangrove ecosystem. The study was conducted from August 2014 to February 2015.The results showed that aromatic hydrocarbon compounds consist of; styrene 2,4,6-trimethyl, xylene, styrene, phenantrena dan naftalena 2-benzyl. The impact is dieback of mangrove. Alternative handling aromatic hydrocarbons of mangroves is phytoremediation method.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSebagian besar kawasan pesisir di Indonesia merupakan kawasan alami yang memiliki potensi wisata dan belum dikembangkan secara optimal, salah satunya ialah kawasan pesisir Desa Sawarna yang berada di Kecamatan Bayah. Kegiatan wisata di daerah ini telah lama berlangsung, dan Desa Sawarna memiliki kawasan pantai yang luas dan indah dengan batu-batu karang yang menjadi salah satu daya tarik wisata. Tempat ini juga menjadi tempat wisata selancar oleh turis-turis mancanegara namun dalam pengelolaan masih sebatas oleh masyarakat lokal dan aparat desa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menilai kesesuaian wisata pantai dan wisata selancar di Desa Sawarna, menilai daya dukung kawasan Desa Sawarna untuk menunjang kegiatan pengembangan wisata pantai dan selancar, kemudian menghasilkan arahan lokasi wisata pantai dan wisata selancar di Desa Sawarna. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kesesuaian wisata pantai dan wisata selancar guna menentukan kawasan wisata, analisis daya dukung kawasan guna mengestimasi daya tampung wisatawan dalam suatu kawasan. Berdasarkan analisis kesesuaian potensi sumberdaya alam yang dapat digunakan menjadi kawasan wisata pantai adalah Pantai Legon Pari, Pantai Karang Bereum, Pantai Tanjung Layar, Pantai Ciantir, Pantai Goa Langir dan Pantai Pulo Manuk. Sedangkan kawasan yang berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai lokasi wisata selancar antara lain Pantai Legon Pari, Pantai Ciantir dan Pantai Pulo Manuk. Pantai ciantir memiliki estimasi daya dukung ekologis yang paling tinggi yaitu sebanyak 567 orang/hari. ABSTRACTMost coastal areas in Indonesia are natural areas that have tourism potential and not yet developed, one of which is the village Sawarna Coast region in Sub Bayah. Tourist activities in this area has long been underway, and the Village Sawarna have extensive coastal areas and beautiful with rocks that became one of the tourist attraction. The place is also a place of surfing by foreign tourists, but the management is still limited by the local community and village officials. The purpose of this study is assessing the suitability of coastal tourism and surfing in the village Sawarna, assessing the carrying capacity Sawarna Village area to support the development of coastal tourism and surfing, then generating leads beaches and tourist sites in the village Sawarna surfing. The method used is the analysis of the suitability of coastal tourism and surfing to determine the tourist area, the analysis of the carrying capacity of the region to estimate the capacity of tourists in an area. Based on the analysis of the suitability of potential natural resources can be used as coastal resorts are Legon Pari Beach, Karang Bereum Beach, Tanjung Layar Beach, Ciantir Beach, Goa Langir Beach and Pulo Manuk Beach. While the region has the potential to be developed as a tourist destination among others Coast surfing are Legon Pari Beach, Ciantir Beach, m Pulo Manuk Beach. Ciantir Beach has estimated the ecological carrying capacity of the highest of 567 people / day.

Abstract

AbstrakTaman Nasional Kutai (TNK) memiliki ± 5.227 ha hutan mangrove di sepanjang pesisir pantainya. Hampir 23% luas hutan mangrove ini mengalami degradasi akibat konversi lahan dan pemanfaatan yang merusak. Kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata) merupakan salah satu sumberdaya yang terdapat dalam ekosistem mangrove, yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya sylvofishery. Pemanfaatan ini merupakan mata pencaharian alternatif bagi penduduk lokal dalam kawasan TNK agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya tanpa merusak hutan mangrove. Model pemanfaatan sylvofishery kepiting bakau disusun dari 5 submodel, yaitu habitat mangrove, penangkapan kepiting, budidaya pembesaran kepiting, pasar, dan sosial. Hasil simulasi terhadap model dinamik, menunjukkan bahwa skenario optimistik memberikan kinerja model yang lebih berkelanjutan untuk pengelolaan hutan mangrove di TNK, bila dilakukan dengan pendekatan optimasi pemanfaatan sumberdaya S. serrata. Dengan sylvofishery diharapkan akan terjadi keseimbangan antara pemanfaatan dan kelestarian lingkungan hutan mangrove.AbstractThe National Park Kutai (TNK) has ± 5,227 ha mangrove forest in along coastal beach. Therefore, almost 23% of mangrove forest was degraded caused by land conversion and utilization of damaged. Mud crab (Scylla serrata) is one of the resources in mangrove ecosystem, and it can be utilized for the cultivation sylvofishery. The utilization of sylvofishery was an alternative livelihood for the local resident in TNK areas that was not damaged their forest necessity. The model of sylvofishery utilization mud crab prepared were 5 sub-models, such as mangrove habitat sub-model, catching mud crab sub-model, enlargement cultivation of mud crab sub-model, market sub-model and social sub-model. The simulation results showed that an optimistic scenario performance model to sustainable for management of mangrove forest in TNK if it was conducted with optimization approached resources in utilization of S. serrata. With silvofishery, it is expected to give a balance between utilization and conservation of mangrove ecosystems.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis persentase tutupan mangrove di Desa Jago Jago Sumatera Utara. Metode hemispherical photography digunakan untuk menentukan tajuk mangrove. Metode ini memberikan informasi yang lebih akurat karena area yang ditangkap oleh kamera lebih presisi, sehingga dapat menggambarkan tutupan tajuk mangrove yang sebenarnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September 2022 di 6 stasiun. Lokasi stasiun penelitian ditentukan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Pengambilan data tajuk mangrove menggunakan kamera 12-megapiksel. Teknik ini diterapkan pada plot berukuran 10x10 m2 dan dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak ImageJ. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 8 spesies mangrove yang ditemukan di Desa Jago Jago yaitu Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora apiculata, Xylocarpus granatum, Bruguiera sexangula, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops tagal, Lumnitzera littorea, dan Nypa fruticans. Nilai kerapatan yang didapatkan berkisar 1.400 sampai 1.708,67 ind/ha, dan rata-rata nilai tajuk mangrove sebesar 76,15 %, tergolong rapat.

Abstract

Sumber daya terumbu karang di Taman Nasional Kepulauan Seribu memiliki persentase sebesar 40% tutupan terumbu karang hidup sejak tahun 2011 hingga 2017, dan sudah tergolong dalam kategori rusak. Kondisi tutupan terumbu karang pada Pulau Kayu Angin Genteng memiliki persentase sebesar 49% sejak tahun 2018 hingga 2019 dan masuk ke dalam kategori rusak sedang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi terumbu karang di Pulau Genteng Besar dan Kayu Angin Genteng. menggunakan metode Underwater Photo Transect dan dianalisis menggunakan software CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel Extensions). Lokasi pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling. Hasil pengamatan yang di Pulau Genteng Besar menunjukkan hasil tutupan karang keras tertinggi yaitu berada pada titik utara (57,25%). Kategori jenis lifeform tertinggi yang ditemukan di titik barat adalah jenis Coral Massive (CM) (13,31%) dan terendah terdapat pada kategori Acropora Digitate (ACD) (0,27%). Hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan di Pulau Kayu Angin Genteng menunjukkan persentase hasil tutupan karang keras sebesar 32,30%, 10 jenis kategori lifeform tertinggi yang ditemukan di titik utara adalah Coral Foliose (CF) (24,06%) dan terendah pada kategori Coral Massive (CM).

Abstract

Aquatic Tourism Park (ATP) of the Southeast Sulawesi Province has significant contribution to achieve the total targeted of 30 million of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in Indonesia. The conservation area is located in 3 coastal districts of Konawe, South Konawe, and Kendari City Districts. The time-consuming process of legalizing the conservation area has driven the need to re-evaluate the ecological conditions from 2012 to 2020. The objective of this study is to this aims to determine the status, gaps and ecological feasibility of conservation areas in the Southeast Sulawesi region. One of the noticeable gaps is the change of ecological conditions in the reservation area.  The gap could be identified by comparing ecological conditions before and after the area was reserved for a conservation area. Ecosystem suitability was measured by using ecological criteria, such as number of protected fish species, mangrove density, seagrass coverage, coral coverage, and naturalness. The score of suitability assessment was 31, which showed that the reserved location was suitable for a Marine Conservation Area.  However, gap analysis results showed 10% decline in coral coverage and 17% decrease in seagrass coverage, while mangrove density decreased as much as 102 trees/ha during that period. Evaluation on the ecosystem condition was conducted by applying suitability analysis of the modified E-KKP3K dan Sambah et al. (2020) methods, resulting a status of suitable or conservation area allocation (score 31). Criteria used were chosen based on its contribution in facilitating important ecological processes and as ecosystem buffer system in the area. Abstract

Comprehensive research was conducted in the mangrove ecosystem of West Muna Regency to investigate the absorption of greenhouse gas (GHG) and degradation of its litter-produced GHG emissions, including N2O and carbon. The ecosystem consisted of four stations, namely Mangrove Maginti (station I), Mangrove Tiworo Tengah (station II), Mangrove Tiworo Islands (station III), and Mangrove Sawerigadi (Station IV). The research aimed to determine emissions and global warming potential (GWP) of N2O gas resulting from the degradation of mangrove litter. The team used a syringe mounted on the hood to collect gas samples and gas chromatography for concentration analysis. The correlation of emissions to environmental variables was analyzed using the Pearson correlation method. The results showed that all species' most significant and smallest average emissions were at stations III and II, with values of 0.0019 mg/m2/hour and 0.0015 mg/m2/hour, respectively. Water temperature showed a weak relationship with N2O emissions, namely r = 0.3511 (p <0.05), while water salinity did not strongly correlate with N2O emissions (r=-0.4471; p<0.05). The average GWP value ranged from 0.3665–0.6314 CO2e mg/m2/hour. Species R. apiculata and B. cylindrica at stations III and II had the largest and smallest GWP values of 0.8392 and 0.1912 CO2e mg/m2/hour, respectively.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Giant clams that protected by CITES Appendix II is important marine organism as a stock in and also has potential as a marine tourism. This study aims to analyze the potential of clams which are part of the coral reef ecosystem as an alternative ecotourism management of diving and snorkeling in Morella and analyzing appropriate management strategies for the development of tourism areas in Morella. The method used for the analysis of clams is 1) the density of clams Di = ni / A; 2) diversity index H '= - (∑ni (ln (ni / N)); 3) dominance index D = ∑ [Ni / N] 2, and Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. There are five types of clams such as Tridacna maxima, T. squamosa, T. gigas, T. crocea and Hippopus hippopus. The widest distribuiton was T. maxima, which was found at each research areas and the lowest was H. Hippopus. The population of clams was found at Lettang Beach with the most species being T. squamosa. The highest percentage of coral reef cover was found at Lubang Buaya Beach at 81.10% and the lowest at station I at 55.53%. The highest number of species of reef fish is found at Lettang Beach, which is 197 types. The management strategy that needs to be prioritized is integrated management, which takes into account all aspects of ecological, economic, social and institutional aspects.

Abstract

 Singkil Swamp Wildlife Reserve is a peat swamp ecosystem located in Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh Province. Peat swamp ecosystem has an important function in protecting and balancing water systems, carbon stocks and biodiversity conservation. However, information on the characteristics of the waters of this ecosystem is still not widely known, especially in the area of utilization that is influenced by community activities. This study aims to determine the aquatic environmental characteristics of the Singkil Swamp Wildlife Reserve utilization area covering the physical and chemical parameters of the water and the relationship among those parameters. Sampling was carried out through field observations both in-situ and ex-situ at 5 stations for 3 months (April-June 2021). Observations were made on water quality parameters namely temperature, transparency, depth, current, colour, salinity, water smell, pH, DO, TDS, TSS, conductivity, phosphate and nitrate. Analysis of the data was conducted, namely correlation analysis, PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and CA (Cluster Analysis). The water color was black and the pH was acidic, that is a characteristic of the swamp waters. The results of the measurement of water quality parameters indicate that TDS (13-44 mg/l), TSS (9-236 mg/l), total phosphate (0.01-2.14 mg/l), and nitrate (0.5-25.7 mg/l) were suitable for freshwater aquaculture to support fishery reserve. Based on the clustering of those stations, 5 observation stations were grouped into two different groups, namely cluster 1 with the number of observation stations of 2 stations (Stations 1 and 2) and cluster 2 with the number of observation stations of 3 stations (3, 4 and 5). The parameter values of total phosphate, pH, DO, and nitrate in cluster 1 tend were higher than in cluster 2.Keywords:Peat swampFreshwaterWater quality

Abstract

Abstract. The oysters (Ostreidae) isone of economically important bivalves for urban community in Kuala Gigieng, Aceh Besar District. Presently, the quality and quantity of oyster is decreased over the years by intensive exploitation and water pollution. Therefore, theobjective of the present study was to analyze population structure and habitat condition of oystersin estuary area of Kuala Gigieng, Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province. The sampling was conducted at three locations during August to September 2013. The sampling locations were determined based on anthropogenic activities. A total of two genus of oysters were recorded during the study i.e Crossastrea with four species (C. gigas, C. iridescens, C. angulata, C. virginica) and and Ostrea edulis with one species (O. edulis). The highest density (39 ind m-2)of oysters were found at undisturbed and less pressure environment. The distribution pattern of Ostreidae in the Kuala Gigieng water was clustered where frequency of occurrence wasin small class size of 24 mm to 37.20 mm with optimum harvested of 32.27 mm. The growth of the oysters was relatively slow as shown by the maximum length (Lmaks) that can only reach 37.91-72.81 mm within 0 to 3.42 years. Generally, oysters population structure and habitat conditions in Kuala Gigieng Water was declined over the yeras. Therefore, it is a crucially needed to plan a management strategy for oysters with regulation on fishing, shellfish farming and waste disposal regulation to ensure the oysters population remains sustain.Keywords : Environment factors; fishing, growth; Kuala Gigieng; Oyster; population structureAbstrak. Tiram daging (Ostreidae) merupakan salah satu kerang yang memiliki  nilai ekonomi penting bagi masyarakat Kuala Gigieng. Namun, kualitas dan kuantitas tiram menurun akibat eksploitasi dan pencemaran perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur populasi dan kondisi habitat tiram di perairan estuaria Kuala Gigieng Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Provinsi Aceh. Sampling dilakukan pada tiga lokasi selama bulan Agustus hingga September 2013.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua genus tiram di perairan Kuala Gigieng yaitu Crassostrea dan Ostrea dengan total 5 spesies (C. gigas, C. iridescens, C. angulata, C. virginica and O. edulis). Kepadatan tertinggi berada pada lokasi yang tekanan penangkapan dan lingkungannya yang rendah. Pola penyebaran tiram daging di Kuala Gigieng cenderung mengelompok. Frekuensi ukuran selang kelas tiram terbanyak yang ditemukan yaitu 24-37,20 mm dengan ukuran layak tangkap yaitu 32,27 mm. Pertumbuhan tiram daging di Kuala Gigieng tergolong lambat, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan panjang maksimal (Lmaks) yang mampu dicapai kerang ini hanya 37,91-72,81 mm dalam waktu 0-3,42 tahun. secara keseluruhan, struktur populasi tiram daging dan kondisi habitat di Kuala Gigieng mulai menurun. Oleh karen itu, diperluka pengaturan pengelolaan sumberdaya tiram dengan melakukan pengaturan penangkapan, budidaya tiram, dan pembuangan limbah agar sumberdaya tiram di Kuala Gigieng tetap lestari.Kata kunci : Faktor lingkungan; Kuala Gigieng; penangkapan; pertumbuhan; struktur populasi; tiram daging,
