Abstract

This article aims to analyze the dynamics of religious freedom in the digital era with a focus on the challenges and opportunities arising from the development of information and communication technology. The research uses a qualitative approach with analytical descriptive method. Data collection was conducted through literature and documentation studies, with primary data in the form of official documents on religious freedom regulations, research reports, and statistics on intolerance cases in digital media. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model with source triangulation to ensure data validity. The results show that the digital era presents challenges in the form of the spread of inaccurate information and hate speech that can threaten tolerance between religious communities. However, on the other hand, digital technology also opens up opportunities for the creation of broader interfaith dialogue through online forums and webinars. The research found that stricter regulations on social media content and education for the public on religious tolerance are needed.

Abstract

Examining the efficacy of extended reading activities in enhancing eleventh graders' reading comprehension at SMA Katolik Cenderawasih Makassar was the primary goal of the study. The levels of pupils' literal, interpretive, and critical understanding were examined in this study. With the use of pre-and post-tests, the study was conducted using a pre-experimental approach. A total of 150 pupils from SMA Katolik Cenderawasih Makassar made up the study's population. Eighteen tenth graders served as the sample for this study. We used pre-and post-tests to get our data. Both the pre-and post-tests were narrative-text reading assessments. Results from the study demonstrated a statistically significant change between the pre-and post-treatment assessments. The average pre-test score for reading comprehension was 75.00. Students' reading comprehension scores improved by 11,42% as a result. The outcome of the data analysis will determine After the exam, the average score was 86.42, up from 75.00 before. The results show an improvement between the pre-and post-test scores, with the post-test mean score being higher than the pre-test mean score (86.42>75.00). The result was a 13.92% increase in performance between the pre-and post-tests. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, we may say that the Alternative Hypothesis (H1) is correct and that the Null Hypothesis (H0) is wrong. The study's author deduced this conclusion from the fact that pupils' reading comprehension levels were significantly different before and after the intervention. H1 was accepted as the alternative hypothesis while H0 was rejected as the null hypothesis. With a mean value of 0.4532, the N-Gain score falls into the "moderate" group when categorized. Therefore, the study's premise was that students' reading comprehension would be worse off if teachers used lengthy reading activities. Keywords: Reading Comprehension, Extensive Reading, Literal, Interpretative, Critical

Abstract

This study aims to identify the main factors contributing to the lack of English vocabulary among students. The research subjects consisted of ten students at SMAN 3 Makassar with poor English vocabulary. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews and documentation. The study revealed that motivation plays a crucial role in mastering English vocabulary. Several factors hinder students' skill development, including low discipline in practice, lack of confidence, an unsupportive family environment, and inadequate support from the school. Abstract

This study aims to describe students' perceptions of English Clubs towards their speaking skills. Using a qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with high school students actively participating in English Club activities and validated with documentation of their English grades. The findings reveal that most students perceive English Clubs positively. They view these clubs as supportive spaces to practice speaking freely, boost their confidence, and broaden their understanding of English usage in daily life. Besides the perceived benefits, the study also identifies challenges faced by students, such as anxiety and a lack of courage to speak in public.
