Abstract

This study examines the relationships among price perception, product quality, consumer satisfaction, and purchasing decisions in the café industry in Malinau Regency. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 160 respondents who had experience purchasing products from local cafés. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that product quality and consumer satisfaction have a positive, significant effect on purchasing decisions, whereas price perception does not. However, price perception significantly affects consumer satisfaction, suggesting that consumers evaluate prices based on perceived fairness and value for money rather than as a direct trigger for purchase decisions. Furthermore, the findings reveal that consumer satisfaction plays a strategic mediating role. Consumer satisfaction mediates the relationship between price perception and purchasing decisions, as well as between product quality and purchasing decisions. This indicates that fair pricing and high product quality first enhance consumer satisfaction, which, in turn, strengthens purchasing decisions and repurchase intentions. Product quality reflected in taste, consistency, presentation, hygiene, and freshness emerges as a critical determinant of satisfaction and long-term consumer behavior in the café context. Overall, this study highlights the importance of consumer satisfaction as a key psychological mechanism linking marketing variables to purchasing decisions. The findings provide practical implications for café business owners in Malinau Regency, emphasizing the need to focus on value-based pricing strategies, consistent product quality, and positive consumption experiences to foster satisfaction and sustainable purchasing behavior. This research also contributes to the marketing literature by reinforcing the mediating role of consumer satisfaction in the food and beverage industry, particularly in semi-urban regions.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative case study aimed to explore the factors influencing the interest in learning science among fourth-grade students at SDN 128 Palero, Lilirilau District, Soppeng Regency. The subjects or participants in this study were five students, five parents, one fourth-grade homeroom teacher, and one headmasterl. Data collection techniques included observation, semi-structured interviews, open-ended questionnaires, and document analysis. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman (1994) model, which includes data reduction, data display, and verification. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation (comparing data from students, parents, teachers, and the principal) and method triangulation (integrating observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documents). Results and conclusions: The interest in learning science among fourth-grade students at SDN 128 Palero is supported by a synergy of mutually reinforcing internal and external factors, creating a meaningful learning ecosystem. Internal student factors: high curiosity about natural phenomena, strong intrinsic motivation, active independent learning (searching for external information), and positive enthusiasm during learning. External factors: teacher role: varied strategies (experiments, discussions, projects), local contextual approaches, effective media (visual, concrete), engaging practicums, and ability-based differentiation; parental support: adequate facilities, daily mentoring, motivation (praise, rewards), and collaborative activities such as gardening; school environment: conducive physical conditions, peer social support, complete facilities (labs, digital media), and proactive leadership (RKS, BOS funds, supervision, OSN) and community environment: the relevance of Palero's agrarian practices to household practices (gardening, nature observation).

Abstract

Research aims: The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between innovation orientation (IO) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and its role in mediating marketing orientation (MO) to achieve marketing performance (MP), specifically focusing on MSMEs in the culinary sector in Banyumas, Purbalingga, Cilacap, and Kebumen (Barlingmascakeb).Design/Methodology/Approach: Data were collected from 100 food industry businesses in Barlingmascakeb. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used utilizing Smart PLS to analyze data.Research findings: The results demonstrated that innovation orientation had a positive effect on entrepreneurial orientation and marketing performance. EO, which mediated the relationship between IO and MP, acted as a partial mediator. RBV is still a relevant theory for MSMEs, where organizational resources are assets that need to be managed and become superior to expand in a dynamic market. The research findings also support the MBV theory, where the market is a necessary factor to be considered by MSMEs in business and entrepreneurial decision-making. RBV and MBV actually complement each other and have an important role in influencing marketing performance.Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study contributes to the management study literature, which has built an empirical model that encourages MSME marketing performance by investigating the relationship between IO, EO, and MO to support MSME marketing performance.Practitioners/Policy Implications: This study provides insight into culinary MSME entrepreneurs to focus on innovation orientation and not ignore market orientation as a supporter of innovation and marketing performance.Research Limitations/Implications: This research only focused on MSMEs in the culinary sector, so generalizations and findings were limited. Therefore, future studies are expected to combine larger and more diverse samples.

Abstract

This study examines the critical role of the Prosecutor's Office in employing civil law instruments to enhance the recovery of assets acquired through corrupt activities. Given the detrimental impact of corruption on national integrity and finances, efficient asset recovery is essential for restoring public trust and ensuring accountability. Through a qualitative analysis that includes case studies, legal frameworks, and interviews with key stakeholders, the research identifies various civil law tools utilized by the Prosecutor's Office, such as civil lawsuits, asset seizure, and restitution claims. The findings reveal that while the Prosecutor's Office possesses significant authority and resources to pursue civil actions, several challenges hinder optimal performance, including inadequate legal frameworks, resource constraints, and inter-agency coordination issues. The paper concludes by advocating for legislative reforms, enhanced training for prosecutors, and improved collaboration among law enforcement agencies to strengthen the effectiveness of asset recovery efforts in combating corruption.

Abstract

This study explores culture shock and communication adaptation among students in the Indonesian context of Fo Guang Shan, a transnational Buddhist organization grounded in Humanistic Buddhism. Using an observational research design and thematic analysis based on Kim’s Integrative Communication Theory, the study examines students’ daily interactions and participation in religious and educational activities. The findings show that culture shock emerges through differences in language, symbols, nonverbal cues, and interaction styles, especially in the early stages of engagement. Communication adaptation develops gradually through awareness of cultural differences, experimentation with local norms, and growing confidence supported by community participation. The Fo Guang Shan environment plays a dual role, initially creating communicative tension but later functioning as a supportive learning space that accelerates students’ social integration. The study contributes to applied intercultural communication by showing how culture shock in religious settings can become a learning resource and by offering practical insights for designing context-specific intercultural orientation and training programs.

Abstract

Civil inheritance law under the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata) provides protection to heirs through the concept of compulsory share or legitime portie. This right ensures that legitimate heirs receive a certain portion of the deceased’s estate, even if a gift or will seeks to override their rights. This study aims to analyze the application of legitime portie in Indonesian inheritance law, with a focus on Supreme Court Decision Number 214 PK/Pdt/2017, which annulled a gift that violated the compulsory share. Using a normative approach and secondary data, this research demonstrates that the annulment of a gift that violates legitime portie is a legitimate and necessary step in ensuring justice and legal certainty for the rightful heirs. The study emphasizes that the protection of heirs' rights is essential for fairness in the inheritance process. Furthermore, the author suggests that testators should consult legal experts or notaries when drafting gifts or wills to prevent violations of legitimate heirs’ rights. This recommendation aims to avoid potential legal disputes and ensure that the distribution of the estate is fair and in accordance with the law. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the protection of heirs' rights within the context of Indonesian inheritance law and highlights the importance of upholding justice in inheritance decisions.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to map and analyze the spatial distribution of toddler stunting in Malang and identify key risk factors that are spatially correlated with stunting incidence across sub-districts and villages. A geospatial modeling approach using geographically weighted regression (GWR) was employed to account for local variations in the influence of risk factors, reflecting the heterogeneity of conditions that contribute to stunting in different areas. The analysis revealed significant spatial autocorrelation, with stunting cases clustering in specific locations. Results indicate that sanitation risks and household waste management practices were the most significant determinants of stunting prevalence among toddlers in Malang. Improper waste segregation, which leads to odors and attracts flies, and ineffective disposal methods, such as open burning or dumping, were strongly associated with higher stunting rates. These findings underscore the importance of targeted interventions addressing environmental health and sanitation at the local level. By integrating geospatial analysis with GWR modeling, this study highlights the spatial heterogeneity of stunting determinants, providing evidence to guide community-specific public health strategies. Improved sanitation practices and proper household waste management are critical to reducing toddler stunting in areas with clustered risk.
