Abstract

The focus of this study is to optimize guidance and counseling facilities and infrastructure to support effective G&C service management at SMA Negeri 2 Palembayan. Facilities and infrastructure are important components that influence service quality, counselor capabilities, and the successful achievement of student development goals. This study aims to describe the role of facilities and infrastructure in supporting effective counseling management in schools and the forms of optimization that can be carried out. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-qualitative approach through a review of various literature sources in the form of books, scientific journals, and education regulations. The results of the study show that the optimization of guidance and counseling facilities and infrastructure can improve service quality, ensure counseling confidentiality, strengthen administration, and enhance the professionalism of guidance and counseling teachers. Thus, the optimal management of guidance and counseling facilities and infrastructure is an important requirement in realizing effective and quality guidance and counseling services at SMA Negeri 2 Palembayan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pelaksanaan konseling kelompok menggunakan pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri ibu muda dalam mengasuh anak. Fenomena rendahnya kepercayaan diri sering muncul pada ibu muda akibat tekanan sosial, kurangnya pengalaman, dan pikiran irasional mengenai peran keibuan. Pendekatan REBT diyakini dapat membantu individu mengubah pikiran irasional menjadi rasional melalui restrukturisasi kognitif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen tipe one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 8 ibu muda berusia 22–30 tahun yang memiliki anak usia 1–5 tahun dan menunjukkan tingkat kepercayaan diri rendah. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan Skala Kepercayaan Diri yang diadaptasi dari Lauster (2012). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan skor kepercayaan diri setelah mengikuti enam sesi konseling kelompok REBT dengan nilai signifikansi p = 0.002 (p 0.05). Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa konseling kelompok REBT efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri ibu muda dalam menjalankan peran pengasuhan secara positif dan adaptif.

Abstract

Semi-military vocational education is increasingly questioned due to concerns about its impact on students’ autonomy, emotional well-being, and personal development, despite its effectiveness in fostering discipline and order. This conceptual article aims to propose Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) as a humanistic framework to humanize semi-military vocational education without diminishing its disciplinary strengths. Using a critical literature review approach, this study synthesizes theoretical and empirical insights from militaristic education models, humanistic education perspectives, and EFT principles to construct an integrative conceptual framework. The analysis reveals that semi-military educational environments tend to prioritize obedience and control, often at the expense of emotional expression, creativity, and student agency. The findings suggest that integrating EFT principles, such as emotional awareness, empathetic teacher, student relationships, emotional regulation, and supportive authority, can create a more balanced educational climate. This framework positions educators as caring mentors while maintaining structured discipline, thereby promoting resilience, self-awareness, and emotional competence among vocational students. The article concludes that EFT-informed humanistic practices offer a viable and ethical pathway to reform semi-military vocational education, with practical implications for curriculum development, teacher training, and institutional policy.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically map the obligations of guidance and counseling teachers (BK teachers/counselors) in the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 25 of 2024 and analyze the implications of the changes to the practice of providing guidance and counseling in educational units. By using a normative legal approach (statute approach and conceptual approach) as well as content analysis and norm mapping techniques, this study identifies five core provisions that form the new basis for calculating the workload of BK teachers, namely: (1) the core obligation to serve a minimum of 5 study groups per year (Article 4 paragraph 4), (2) the equivalence of additional heavy tasks equivalent to 3 classes (Article 5 paragraph 1), (3) the equivalence of additional light tasks (?2 tasks) equivalent to 1 class (Article 6 paragraph 5), (4) a minimum limit of 4 classes for BK teachers with other additional tasks (Article 6 paragraph 7), and (5) exceptions for educational units with classes

Abstract

The development of technology-based counseling services has become an important part of modern educational and psychological practices, especially for reaching individuals and families who face limitations in accessing conventional services. However, the adoption and sustainability of digital counseling does not take place in a socially neutral space. This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence regarding the role of family cultural transmission in shaping the meaning, acceptance, and use of technology-based counseling services. The study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with reference to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The search was conducted on the Scopus database for articles published between 2020 and 2026 and focused on the contexts of education and psychology. The selection process resulted in four main studies that were analyzed through narrative synthesis. The results of the study show that families act as agents of transmission of values, norms, and relationship patterns that significantly influence individuals' attitudes toward digital counseling. Family cultural values also shape trust in services, decision-making patterns, and the sustainability of technology-based counseling use. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating sociological and anthropological perspectives in the development and implementation of digital counseling to make it more contextual, inclusive, and relevant to educational and psychological practices in various cultural settings.

Abstract

At present, students are not only required to master basic knowledge but also to develop creative thinking skills to face complex global challenges. Creativity in learning is defined as the ability to generate original, useful, and contextually relevant ideas. This study aims to describe the concept of creativity in learning, analyze its role in enhancing motivation and learning outcomes, identify the factors influencing creativity development, and formulate strategies that can be applied by teachers, schools, and external environments. The research method used is a library research approach with content analysis, focusing on primary and secondary literature related to creativity, learning, and development strategies. The findings indicate that creativity plays a significant role in fostering intrinsic motivation, deepening conceptual understanding, and improving academic achievement. Internal factors (cognitive ability, personality, motivation), external factors (classroom climate, teacher-student interaction), and contextual factors (culture, technology) influence students’ creativity development. In conclusion, fostering creativity is essential to improving the quality of education, requiring collaboration among schools, teachers, families, and communities to create an innovative and adaptive learning ecosystem.

Abstract

Low motivation can be seen in students' lack of active involvement in the learning process, their lack of initiative to access additional learning resources, and their difficulty managing time and developing independent learning strategies. However, educational psychology literature confirms that motivation plays a crucial role as a determining factor in learning success. Educational psychology plays an important role in understanding student learning, especially in relation to motivation and academic achievement. This article reviews the literature on how educational psychology principles enhance student motivation and learning outcomes at STKIP Pesisir Selatan. The review shows that intrinsic motivation, cognitive-based learning strategies, the lecturer’s role as facilitator, and a supportive learning environment significantly influence achievement. Practical applications of educational psychology through active learning, feedback, positive reinforcement, and effective classroom management can improve learning quality. This article aims to provide a conceptual foundation for further research and teaching practices in higher education.

Abstract

Expressive arts therapy, is a therapeutic approach that has been increasingly applied in various educational and mental health contexts. However, studies that specifically and systematically examine the application of expressive arts therapy within group counseling settings remain limited. This study aims to map and synthesize existing research findings on expressive arts therapy in the context of group counseling through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). A total of 53 scholarly articles published between 2015 and 2025 were analyzed based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer was conducted to identify thematic patterns, research trends, and conceptual linkages among topics. The findings indicate that previous studies have predominantly focused on creative arts therapy, expressive interventions, and psychosocial outcomes, while integration with the theoretical frameworks and practices of group counseling remains suboptimal. From a methodological perspective, most studies employed qualitative approaches, pilot studies, and program evaluations, whereas experimental studies and systematic reviews specifically addressing expressive arts therapy in group counseling are still scarce. These findings indicate the absence of an integrated model that incorporates expressive arts therapy into group counseling. This study therefore contributes by highlighting the need for the development of a more systematic and contextually grounded group counseling model based on expressive arts therapy.

Abstract

Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) merupakan pendakatan yang berfokus terhadap penyelesaian dan pencarian solusi dari permasalahan klien. Pendekatan Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) memungkinkan anggota kelompok belajar untuk memperhatikan apa yang berhasil, dan kemudian melakukannya lebih sering. Praktisi SFBC berusaha menciptakan suasana pemahaman dan penerimaan yang memungkinkan beragam individu memanfaatkan sumber daya mereka untuk membuat perubahan yang konstruktif.  Saat ini, Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) relatif sering digunakan dalam format individual sehingga memerlukan ekplorasi lebih mendalam berkaitan dengan Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) dalam format kelompok, khususnya konseling kelompok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah literatur review melalui peninjauan artikel ilmiah dari berbagai sumber terkait Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) dalam praktik konseling kelompok. Penerapan Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) dalam konseling kelompok diharapkan dapat membatu terentaskannya masalah klien dengan bantuan seluruh anggota kelompok.

Abstract

University students frequently experience existential concerns alongside subclinical psychological distress, including reduced meaning in life, depression, and anxiety. Meaning-centered group counseling based on logotherapy has been proposed as a preventive intervention; however, evidence for young adult populations remains limited. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review with Network Analysis (SLNA) conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to examine the effectiveness and research landscape of meaning-centered group counseling for university students. A systematic search of the Scopus database (2015-2025) identified five controlled studies (N = 206) involving group-based logotherapy interventions for individuals aged 18-25 years. Meaning in life was the primary outcome, while depression, anxiety, and stress were secondary outcomes. Due to heterogeneity, data were synthesized using SWiM guidelines and complemented by a bibliometric keyword co-occurrence analysis of 47 Scopus-indexed articles using VOSviewer. The results indicate consistent and significant improvements in meaning in life (p < 0.05) with large effect sizes, accompanied by reductions in psychological distress. These findings support meaning-centered group counseling as an effective preventive intervention in university counseling settings.
