Abstract

Scheduling is a way to determine the time and place an activity will be carried out. A learning schedule that is free from overlapping scheduling problems needs to be available before teaching and learning activities begin so that the early teaching and learning activities can take place effectively. One way that can be used to overcome the problem of overlapping learning scheduling is to use the concept of graph coloring contained in the topic of graph theory. Therefore, the goal to be achieved in this study is to obtain a schedule of teaching and learning activities that are free from overlapping scheduling at SMAN 1 Kopang by applying the concept of graph coloring. The type of research used is applied research. Based on the scheduling data, we get a neighboring matrix with a size of 224×224 and a chromatic number of 22. The determination of neighboring matrices using the help of the Excel VBA programming language. The schedule-making begins by creating a scheduling conflict graph based on the lesson schedule data, then the graph obtained will be colored using Welch Powell's algorithm. After the coloring results are obtained, a learning schedule can be arranged based on the coloring results. Subjects of the same color can be scheduled at the same time and vice versa. The lesson schedule produced in this study requires six additional time slots so that the lesson schedule is free from scheduling overlap because the chromatic number obtained in graph coloring is greater than the available time slots at SMAN 1 Kopang.

Abstract

Mathematical logical intelligence is a factor influences students’ ability to solve story problems. It is related to reasoning and arithmetic. Students who have it can solve story problems easily and precisely. This research aims to determine and describe the influence of mathematical logical intelligence on students' ability to solve story problems in mathematics subjects This research is a quantitative research with the type of ex-post facto research. The population used in this research was 161 class VIII students and a sample of 32 students who were given instruments in the form of questionnaires and easy tests to complete. The data analysis used is inferential statistical analysis. The results of the regression coefficient test obtained a value of with the regression equation which was very significant, where is students' mathematical logical intelligence, and is the ability to solve student story problems. The results of the correlation coefficient analysis (r) results were 0.550 with a contribution of 30.3%. It can be concluded that mathematical logical intelligence influence students' ability to solve story problems in class VIII mathematics subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsari for the 2022/2023 academic year. If a student's mathematical logical intelligence increases by one unit, the student's ability to solve story problems increases by 0.506.

Abstract

Usually in our daily life, we ​​often encounter complex problems that require the theory of solving non-linear equations. This research aims to obtain programs for the Newton Raphson method and the Secant method in Python and to compare the efficiency of non-linear equations from the Newton and the Secant method in terms of the number of iterations, errors and program execution time. The functions that will be tested are polynomial functions, exponential functions and trigonometric functions. The research used is application type research. The program test was carried out three times by changing the coefficients and initial values. The format of a polynomial function is , exponential function ), trigonometric function . The output of this research is program code for polynomial functions, exponential functions and trigonometric functions. in one program it consists of the declaration of Newton's formula, Secant's formula, error, iteration table and execution time formula. From the six experiments carried out, results were obtained using the Newton method on polynomial functions, exponential functions and trigonometric functions, the number of iterations obtained was fewer with smaller errors and less time than the Secant method. So it was concluded that the Newton Raphson method was more efficient than the Secant method.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi, pembelajaran matematika masih didominasi dengan ceramah dan diskusi, belum adanya model pembelajaran inovatif yang diterapkan dan media pembelajaran alternatif yang digunakan sebagai pendukung proses pembelajaran, menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa, sehingga perlu adanya pembenahan dalam proses pembelajaran. Model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) merupakan sebuah konsep belajar yang membantu guru menghubungkan materi yang diajarkan dengan kondisi kehidupan nyata dan mendorong siswa untuk menghubungankan antara pengetahuan yang telah dimiliki dengan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, sedangkan media animasi yaitu media yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara kelas yang menggunakan model CTL berbantuan media animasi dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi, (2) menggetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang memiliki minat belajar sangat tinggi, tinggi, cukup, kurang, dan sangat kurang pada kelas yang menggunakan model CTL berbantuan media animasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitaian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian quasi experimental. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPN 4 Mataram dengan siswa kelas VII.1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VII.3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes dan angket. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan Analisis Variansi Dua Jalan Sel Tak Sama dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara kelas yang menggunakan model CTL berbantuan media animasi dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi; 2) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang memiliki minat belajar tinggi dan cukup pada kelas yang menggunakan model CTL berbantuan media animasi.

Abstract

The learning environment and interest in learning are two components that greatly influence students' learning outcomes. Students who have a suitable learning environment and high interest in learning tend to achieve high learning outcomes. However, students at SMAN 1 Kediri have a relatively poor quality learning environment and low interest in learning. Based on the data obtained, students' learning outcomes are low because more than 50% of them are classified below the Minimum Criteria for Mastery (KKM). Therefore, this study focuses on two variables that influence learning outcomes: the learning environment and interest in learning. This research uses a quantitative method. The population is the tenth-grade class with a total of 124 students, and a sample of 30 students is obtained using simple random sampling. Data from the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Kediri for the academic year 2023/2024 were collected using questionnaires and tests. By using regression analysis, the following results were obtained: 1) There is a 4.3% influence of the learning environment on students' learning outcomes; 2) There is a 14.3% influence of interest in learning on learning outcomes; 3) There is a 40.2% combined influence of the learning environment and interest in learning on learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigates the ability of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Gunung Sari in using past verbs in recount texts. The study was conducted because many students still experience difficulties in applying correct past verb forms when writing about past events. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify students’ level of ability in using past verbs in recount texts, to examine the difficulties they face, and to explore the strategies they use to overcome those difficulties. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through a multiple-choice test as the main instrument, supported by a questionnaire and interviews. The participants of this study were 35 students from class VIII J of SMPN 1 Gunung Sari. The results show that the majority of students have low ability in using past verbs, with 82% of students categorized in the low level, while only 9% are categorized as high ability and 9% as medium ability. The questionnaire results reveal that the main difficulties experienced by students include forgetting the second form of irregular verbs, confusing regular and irregular verbs, and using the present tense instead of the past tense when writing recount texts. Furthermore, the interview results indicate that students try to overcome these difficulties by memorizing verb forms and asking teachers or classmates for help. However, these strategies are still limited and not fully effective in improving students’ grammatical competence. Therefore, more effective and contextualized grammar instruction is needed to help students improve their mastery of past verbs in recount texts.
