Abstract

This study investigates the influence of psychological empowerment and work motivation on employee performance at Bank Jatim Madiun, Indonesia, a regional branch operating in a competitive and service-driven banking environment. Employee performance, crucial to ensuring service quality and operational success, remains below institutional expectations despite ongoing efforts. The study addresses this issue by exploring whether psychological empowerment and work motivation directly affect performance and whether employee engagement mediates these relationships. Using a quantitative research design and a saturated sampling of 110 employees, data were collected via structured questionnaires based on validated instruments and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. Results show that psychological empowerment significantly enhances both engagement and performance, and that engagement mediates this relationship. In contrast, while work motivation positively affects engagement, it has no direct or indirect impact on performance. These findings imply that fostering psychological empowerment by promoting autonomy, competence, and purpose may be more effective in improving performance than relying on motivation alone. The study recommends that banks adopt empowerment-oriented human resource strategies to enhance engagement and organizational outcomes.

Abstract

Palu Bay, which is developed as a tourism area, is in the ring of fire with a history of repeated disasters. This tourism was able to increase tourist visits to the city of Palu. However, the 2018 earthquake and tsunami resulted in a decrease in tourist visits to the city of Palu. In addition to determining the interaction patterns of the Palu city population, this study tries to pinpoint the key factors the government used to transform Palu Bay into a popular tourist destination. This is accomplished by identifying the key factors that make Palu Bay a popular tourist destination and figuring out how to boost tourism there in the wake of the 2018 earthquake and tsunami disaster. Schutz analysis was employed with post-positivist paradigm and transcendental phenomenology approach. Triangulation was used to collect data, while content analysis was used to process it.Key factors used by the local government of Palu City in developing Palu Bay as a tourism area included: 1. The potential of Palu Bay's natural resources with its natural beauty and unique five-dimensional city (sea, bay, valley, mountain and river); 2. Strategic location on the coast of Palu city with easy access for tourists, 3. Market share of domestic and international tourists; 4. Of the nine existing sub-sectors, Palu Bay has the potential to become the mainstay sector of the city of Palu to support the regional economy because the agricultural, mining, fisheries, industrial, housing and financial sectors lack the potential to be the mainstay sector. The development of tourism in the Palu Bay area is carried out by prioritizing disaster emergency mitigation and response with proper governance and principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Collaborative Multidimensional reconstruction of the private sector, local communities and local governments (triple BCG) as well as patterns of disaster mitigation and emergency response to stimulate tourism in the Palu bay area affected by the 2018 earthquake and tsunami.

Abstract

Caustic ingestion is a relatively common event in childhood. History, identification of chemical substances, and clinical features are essential to predict the extension of damage and plan for diagnostic modalities and management. Thorough follow-up should be done to evaluate the development of complications. This report is about a 16-months-old boy who was admitted to the ER with frequent vomiting and swollen, reddened lips that appeared a few minutes after the accidental ingestion of air conditioner cleaner, which happened in the evening after iftar, 21 hours prior to admission. Clinical findings were first to third degree burns on lips and perioral skin, oropharyngeal mucosa, anterior of right axilla, shoulder, and right-back side of neck to upper back. Laboratory findings revealed anemia, leukocytosis, and thrombocytosis. Patient’s management includes NPO, total parenteral nutrition (first three days), broad-spectrum intravenous antibiotic, analgetic, PPI, corticosteroid, and sucralfate. Esophagoscopy and guided NGT insertion were done on the fourth day, and the diagnosis of esophagitis grade 2A was confirmed. Enteral feeding was started immediately and gradually increased until full oral feeding was achieved. The patient was hospitalized for ten days. It was concluded that in the case of caustic ingestion, the type of caustic substance and degree of injury determine the proper management of corrosive esophagitis, predict its complications, and follow-up planning.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence is reshaping global education. This study systematically investigates the role of semi-supervised generative AI in transforming Islamic and moral education. This study aims to systematically investigate the role of semi-supervised generative artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming Islamic and moral education through a PRISMA-guided statistical systematic literature review. The increasingly widespread integration of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Agnes AI, and Cici has reshaped pedagogical practices, yet few studies have quantitatively examined their impact in faith-based education. A key issue addressed is the limited empirical understanding of how semi-supervised learning models mediate between human-guided moral instruction and AI-driven autonomous reasoning. Data were extracted from 38 peer-reviewed publications (2020–2025) across major databases and analyzed using statistical synthesis and meta-analysis. The results indicate a moderate positive effect size (d = 0.56) for generative AI in enhancing student engagement, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning in Islamic learning contexts. Tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini demonstrated the strongest pedagogical outcomes, while Agnes AI and Cici demonstrated unexplored potential. This study concludes that semi-supervised generative AI offers significant opportunities for pedagogical innovation and improved moral reasoning, although ethical supervision and the development of local AI models remain critical for sustainable implementation.

Abstract

People with Autism or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are someone who has a developmental disorder that affects several aspects such as speech, communication, social interaction, sensory, behavior and emotions when learning from experiences with the surrounding environment. Autistic children tend to behave differently from people in general, seem to not care about the environment around them and prefer to be alone as if they live in their own world. The aim of this research is to obtain data that provides an overview of how outing class activities are implemented as a means of improving social interaction skills in autistic students. This research design uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. In the data collection process, the instruments chosen by researchers were interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis researchers used the data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model in Sugiyono (2017) which consists of 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the description of the implementation of outing class learning starts from preparation to follow-up. Preparation consists of preparing tools and materials as well as planning the implementation of learning. Meanwhile, the implementation is carried out in accordance with the learning implementation plans that have been implemented previously. The follow-up to the outing class learning is an evaluation of the implementation of the learning to improve further learning objectives.
