Abstract

Today's millennial generation faces the challenge of information technology and artificial intelligence technology that is increasingly creative in creating its applications. Artificial intelligence applications, both text-based and video-based, have the opportunity to be used in supporting da'wah for the younger generation. Teenagers of Masjid Al Aman Kresen Bantul need an increased understanding of AI technology for the development of da'wah in the millennial era. To answer this need, the community service team from IST AKPRIND created a short training program on the use of AI-based applications to support da'wah for adolescents. The materials offered are a text-based application, ChatGPT and a video-based application, HeyGen. The ChatGPT application is used to find references for da'wah materials, while the HeyGen application is to package da'wah content to make it more interesting. The training was attended by all 25 members of the AL Aman mosque teenagers. Evaluation is done through questionnaires. The evaluation results showed that 87,4% of participants considered this training very useful to increase their knowledge.

Abstract

Purpose: High blood sugar causes Mellitus (DM), a metabolic disorder. DM affects human metabolism and causes many complications, such as heart disease, kidney problems, skin disorders, and slow healing. Therefore, using machine learning algorithms to implement an automatic diabetes diagnosis system is crucial for predicting DM.Design/methodology/approach: This research created a DM disease prediction system using machine learning with the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Hospital Frankfurt, Germany, and the results of health surveys and medical research are the sources of two separate datasets used in the Kaggle platform data. The stages in Machine Learning include data merging, data cleaning, and data splittingFindings/result: This research produces the best prediction model at a ratio of 70:30, with the lowest MSE value on testing data, 0.217. With K Folding Cross-validation, it makes an average accuracy of 73.88%.Originality/value/state of the art: This research creates a prediction model for diabetes mellitus type 2 using two different datasets with 9 features. It makes a Machine Learning model using the KNN algorithm by importing the KneighborClassifier and evaluating it using the MSE (Mean Square Error) matrix and K Folding cross-validation to determine modelling accuracy

Abstract

This research explained the English Language learning in the context of improving speaking abilities of autism students using VoA (Voice of America). Voice of America (VOA) is interactive media universal broadcaster possessed by the Joined together States government, which has broadcast different programs in 53 dialects since 1942 based in Washington, DC. This research focused in fourth grades of Banyuates Special School in 2023/2024 academic year who were taught using of media VoA Learning English in Website. This research is a quantitative research which also applied quasi experimental research which aims at finding out the effectiveness of using VoA as a Learning English website to improve the autistic student's speaking ability. This research involves two groups that were observed; they were experimental group and control group. The data were gathered for finding out the effectiveness of using VoA as a Learning English website to improve the autistic student's speaking ability. The finding showed that the use of VoA Learning English is effective through comparing the data between the experimental group and the control group in which it got < 0.05, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the VoA Learning English is effective as a medium in the teaching and learning process to improve students' speaking skills if the significant tailed results are < 0.05 Abstrak Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan   kemampuan berbicara siswa autis dengan menggunakan VoA (Voice of America) Voice of America (VOA) dapat diartikan sebagai media penyiaran interaktif yang dimiliki oleh pemerintah Amerika Serikat yang telah menyiarkan berbagai program dalam 53 dialek sejak tahun 1942 yang berpusat di Washington DC. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada siswa kelas IV Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Banyuates tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis website. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media VoA dalam website pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa autis. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelompok yang diamati dalam desain penelitian ini yakni kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok control. Penelitiian ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan data terkait dengan efektivitas penggunaan VoA sebagai situs web pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa autis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan VoA efektif yang diketahui dengan cara membandingkan hasil nilai antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dan mendapatkan hasil < 0,05 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa VoA Learning English efektif sebagai media dalam proses belajar mengajar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa jika hasil signifikan tailed < 0.05.   Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, siswa autis, VoA (Voice of America)

Abstract

Ice-breaking strategy training is conducted to enhance the participation of introverted students in Arabic language learning at Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren). This initiative aims to assist teachers in creating a more inclusive and interactive classroom environment, allowing introverted students to feel more comfortable and confident in engaging with the learning process. The implementation method begins with identifying needs and preparing training materials, followed by the development of training content and conducting workshops for teachers. After the training, teachers apply ice-breaking techniques in the classroom, which are then evaluated to measure their impact on student participation. The results indicate that ice-breaking techniques effectively improve interaction and engagement among introverted students. Most previously passive students began to participate more actively in discussions and classroom activities. Teachers also reported improvements in classroom management and student involvement in Arabic language lessons. Evaluations showed a significant increase in the participation of introverted students, accompanied by an improvement in their comprehension of the material. In conclusion, this training has proven effective in enhancing the engagement of introverted students and positively impacting Arabic language teaching in Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, the application of ice-breaking techniques can be expanded to other institutions to foster a more inclusive and interactive learning environment.

Abstract

Education plays a fundamental role in shaping the nation’s character through the internalization of moral, ethical, and social values. One of the subjects considered strategic in this regard is Civic Education (PPKn), which aims to instill responsibility, discipline, honesty, and social awareness. However, its implementation in schools has not been fully optimal, as reflected in students’ low levels of self-confidence, responsibility, and discipline. This study focuses on examining the influence of Civic Education on the character development of students at SMP As-Syakur Tembelangan. Employing a quantitative design with a survey method, the study involved the entire population of 49 students across grades VII, VIII, and IX, taken using a census sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire with independent variables consisting of learning material, strategies, and methods, and the dependent variable being student character (self-confidence, discipline, and responsibility). Instrument testing confirmed validity and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.70). Data were analyzed through classical assumption tests, t-test, F-test, and multiple linear regression using SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that learning strategies and methods had a significant effect on character development, whereas learning material did not. The Adjusted R² value of 0.642 indicates that Civic Education contributes 64.2% to variations in student character development, with the remaining 35.8% influenced by factors beyond the model. This study concludes that Civic Education functions not only as a transfer of civic knowledge but also as an effective instrument for strengthening character education at the junior high school level, particularly when supported by participatory and contextual learning strategies and methods. ABSTRAKPendidikan memiliki peran fundamental dalam membentuk karakter bangsa melalui internalisasi nilai moral, etika, dan norma. Salah satu mata pelajaran yang strategis dalam hal ini adalah Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) yang berfungsi menanamkan nilai tanggung jawab, disiplin, kejujuran, serta kepedulian sosial. Namun, implementasi pembelajaran PPKn di lapangan sering kali belum optimal, ditandai dengan masih rendahnya sikap percaya diri, tanggung jawab, dan disiplin siswa. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengaruh pembelajaran PPKn terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa SMP As-Syakur Tembelangan. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII, VIII, dan IX sebanyak 49 orang yang dijadikan sampel dengan teknik sensus. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket berbasis skala Likert dengan variabel bebas meliputi materi, strategi, dan metode pembelajaran, serta variabel terikat berupa karakter siswa (percaya diri, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab). Instrumen telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan hasil memenuhi kriteria (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0,70). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji asumsi klasik, uji t, uji F, dan regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi dan metode pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa, sedangkan materi pembelajaran tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan. Nilai Adjusted R² sebesar 0,642 menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran PPKn berkontribusi sebesar 64,2% terhadap variasi pembentukan karakter siswa, sementara 35,8% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian ini. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pembelajaran PPKn tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai transfer pengetahuan kewarganegaraan, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen efektif dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter pada tingkat SMP, dengan penekanan pada strategi dan metode pembelajaran yang partisipatif dan kontekstual.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the make a match method assisted by wordwall media on students' learning interest in Islamic Religious Education subjects. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study were 37 grade IV students. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression. Research using validity test, reliability test, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study included students' interest in learning in the control class which did not apply the make a match method assisted by wordwall media, which showed a significant increase in student interest in learning. This is evidenced by the data obtained from distributing questionnaires to the control class. The increase in student learning interest in the control class which was initially 59.62 became 67. Then for student learning interest in the Experiment class which in its application used the make a match method assisted by wordwall media, showed a very significant increase in student learning interest. This is evidenced by the data obtained from distributing questionnaires to the experimental class. There was an increase in student learning interest in the experimental class, which was originally 60.19 to 80.47. Based on this, it is known that the make a match method assisted by wordwall media has an effect on the learning interest of fourth grade students from the results of simple regression test calculations which show a significance value of 0.000 <0.05.

Abstract

Kelompok “Ayam Telur &  Kalkun Mandiri”  Karang Kulon Progo merupakan kelompok usaha ternak ayam petelur dan kalkun. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah dalam produksinya menggunakan teknik manual baik dalam penyediaan pakan maupun untuk kontrol kondisi kandang maupun manajemen operasionalnya. Hal ini menyebabkan beaya operasional tinggi dan manajemen kurang efisien.  Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan sosialisasi kepada mitra peternak  ayam petelur dan kalkun untuk penerapan konsep kendali suhu dan kelembaban berbasis IoT, penerangan kandang menggunakan PLTS dan manajemen data ternak menggunakan aplikasi program.    Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan antara lain meliputi penyampaian materi dan diskusi serta kunjungan ke  lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan para petani mengenai aplikasi berbasis IoT, teknologi PLTS  dan pemahaman cara manajemen data ternak yang lebih efisien.  Diharapkan dengan penerapan  teknologi ini akan dapat membantu peternak untuk mengoptimalkan produksi, mengurangi biaya operasional, serta mendukung peternakan yang  ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

The use of instructional media can assist teachers in improving the quality of learning. The presence of instructional media also helps students develop a shared understanding of the material being taught. Nearly all human activities today are connected to science and technology (abbreviated as IPTEK in Indonesian). Science and technology can also be utilized in the field of education. One example of this utilization is the use of video media. Video media can be developed by educators using the Canva application. This study aims to explore the development of video-based instructional media using the Canva application for the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject in Grade 5 at MI Hijriyah II Palembang. The research method is a development study using the ADDIE development model. The sample in this study consists of class 5B, with a total of 34 students. The data analysis techniques used are validity analysis and practicality analysis. Data validity was tested through language validation, content validation, and media validation. The results of the study show that the process of developing video media using the Canva application through the ADDIE stages was implemented successfully according to plan. In terms of validity, the media falls into the "very valid" category, with content validation scoring 84%, media design validation scoring 100%, and language validation scoring 94%. Based on these three validation aspects, the developed video media is considered highly valid. After validation, the media was then tested in the classroom to assess its practicality. In terms of practicality, based on the teacher's response questionnaire, a score of 82% was obtained, placing the product in the "very practical" category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in implementing P2RA towards strengthening exemplary character (qudwah) at MI Al-Awwal and MIN 2 Palembang, to determine the results of teacher strategies in implementing P2RA towards strengthening exemplary character (qudwah) at MI Al-Awwal and MIN 2 Palembang, and to determine the inhibiting and supporting factors for teachers in implementing P2RA towards strengthening exemplary character (qudwah) at MI Al-Awwal and MIN 2 Palembang. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Based on the research results found, the strategies used by teachers in implementing P2RA to strengthen the exemplary character of students are 1) integrating P2RA values ​​​​in the learning process. 2) Being a good role model for students. 3) Through routine religious activities held at the madrasah. The impact of the strategy used by teachers in implementing P2RA to strengthen the exemplary character of students, namely, can hone the interests and talents of students, increase insight, and improve student creativity and student morals to be better. The supporting factors in the strategy used by teachers in implementing P2RA to strengthen the exemplary character of students are: 1) Teacher competence in implementing P2RA during the learning process. 2) Teacher exemplary behavior as a role model for students. 3) Routine religious activities carried out at the madrasah. The obstacles found in the study were the lack of teacher understanding regarding the implementation of P2RA and factors from the environment outside the madrasah.

Abstract

Often people limit the work of the Holy Spirit to things related to spiritual gifts. Apart from spectacular things like healing the sick or raising the dead, prophesying about what will happen, speaking in tongues, is not considered the work of the Holy Spirit. This paper describes the work of the Holy Spirit which is realized in four important church activities recorded in Acts 2:42. These four activities are the tasks of the church initiated by the Holy Spirit, namely the teaching of the apostles (didache), communion (koinonia), breaking of bread (diakonia), and praying (proseuche). The current condition of the church demands an active role from its leaders to return to work on these four things so that the church today does not lose its identity as a community of believers who make disciples of all nations of Christ.
