Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan control of variabel merupakan salah satu kemampuan scientific reasoning yaitu kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa untuk mengontrol variabel. Kemampuan ini sangat diperlukan selama proses penyelidikan ilmiah. Hal ini dikarenakan selama proses penyelidikan melibatkan banyak variabel dan mengontrol variabel untuk menganalisis hubungan antara variabel. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan kemampuan control of variable siswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis STEM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan one group pre test and post test desain pada sampel sebanyak 37 siswa menggunakan teknik convience sampling di salah satu sekolah kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes scientific reasoning berbentuk pilihan ganda bertingkat yang diadopsi dari Lawson Classroom Test Scientific Reasoning (LCTSR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan control of variable siswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran berbasis STEM memiliki n-gain sebesar 0,45 dalam katagori sedang. Kata-kata kunci: Pembelajaran berbasis STEM, scientific reasoning, control of variable. Abstract The ability of control of variable is one of ability of scientific reasoning that is ability owned by student to control variable. This capability is indispensable during the process of scientific inquiry. This is because during the investigation process involves many variables and control variables to analyze the relationship between variables. The purpose of this research is to develop students control of variable ability by applying STEM-based learning. This study uses quasi experimental method with one group pre test and post test design on samples of 37 students using convience sampling technique in one school district of West Bandung. Measurements were made using a multilayer multiple-dimensional, multiple-choice scientifically adopted test adopted from the Lawson Classroom Test Scientific Reasoning (LCTSR). The result of the research showed that the improvement of control of student variable after applied STEM based learning had n-gain of 0.45 in moderate category. Keywords: STEM-based learning, scientific reasoning, control of variables.

Abstract

Abstrak Fakta dilapangan menunjukan bahwa proses pembelajaran di kelas belum menciptakan aktivitas siswa dalam membuat prediksi, mengaitkan variabel satu sama lain, serta menganalisis hubungan materi dalam pengaplikasian di kehidupan nyata. Maka dari itu, dikembangkan penelitian tentang “Pembelajaran Berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) pada konsep Tekanan Hidrostatis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis STEM terhadap peningkatan causal reasoning siswa pada konsep tekanan hidrostatis. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pre experimental dengan one group pretest and posttest design. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMP di kota Bandung Barat dengan jumlah partisipan dalam penelitian sebanyak 36 siswa dari siswa SMP kelas VIII. Data penelitian diambil dari hasil pretest dan posttest melalui tes scientific reasoning modifikasi bentuk pilihan ganda beralasan dan diolah menggunakan effect size (d) Cohen’s untuk melihat pengaruh treatment terhadap peningkatan scientific reasoning. Dari hasil pengolahan dan analisis data, effect size yang terukur sebesar 1,89 masuk dalam kategori besar. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis STEM mampu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan dalam melatihkan causal reasoning siswa. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengembangkan tes keterampilan proses sains (KPS) materi fluida statis untuk siswa kelas X SMA/MA. Penelitian ini mengadaptasi metode penelitian pengembangan Borg and Gall, yaitu: 1) studi pendahuluan, 2) perencanaan, 3) pengembangan draf produk, 4) uci coba, 5) revisi hasil uji coba, 6) uji coba lapangan, dan 7) penyempurnaan produk. Instrumen tes KPS yang dikembangkan terdiri dari 21 butir soal pilihan ganda. Analisis tes dilakukan melalui judgement pakar untuk melihat validitas dan analisis hasil uji coba tes. Uji coba tes dilakukan terhadap 30 siswa SMA kelas X jurusan matematika-IPA (MIA) di salah satu SMA Negeri Bandung yang dipilih secara random. Hasil judgement pakar menunjukkan bahwa butir item tes KPS telah sesuai dengan indikator KPS dan konten materi fluida statis. Hasil analisis data uji coba menunjukkan bahwa tes yang dikonstruk memiliki reliabilitas yang sangat tinggi ditandai oleh koefisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,90. Hasil analisis daya pembeda diketahui 67% butir item tes pada katagori baik dan cukup dan 33% pada katagori tidak baik. Tingkat kemudahan butir item tes 52% katagori sulit dan 48% katagori sedang. Berdasarkan analisis tes dan setelah dilakukan penyempurnaan perangkat tes, maka tes KPS materi fluida statis yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai instrumen penilaian KPS siswa. Abstract

The aim of the present study is to explore the evolving trend of research directions in the field of game in STEM learning. This research uses Scopus search analysis, Microsoft Excel software, and VOS viewer software. Based on 1489 articles (488 selected documents) selected from Scopus indexed journals, co-authorship, co-citation, co-occurrence, cluster, and content analysis were conducted. The results of the quantitative analysis showed that hugely important work on games of STEM education, namely computer game and digital game base learning. The literature on games in STEM education has explored fourteen hot themes during the last couple of decades: STEM, digital game, active learning, game based learning,  game, project based learning, serious game, creative self efficacy, teaching concept, learning content, industri 4.0, STEM activities, game element, and  interactive learning environment. The bibliometric study conducted gives a thorough and complete picture of STEM education research that may be valuable for scholars interested in furthering future understanding in this field.

Abstract

Guru adalah komponen paling penting dalam pembelajaran. Sehingga seorang guru dituntut mempunyai kemampuan pedagogik dan menguasai materi (content). Kedua kemampuan tersebut sering dipadukan menjadi pengetahuan baru yang disebut Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui profil awal kemampuan PCK dan kognitf mahasiswa calon guru Fisika. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan instrument test pilihan ganda untuk menganalisis serta mendeskripsikan profil awal kemampuan PCK dan kognitif calon guru fisika pada pembelajaran fisika modern. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Semester genap 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 25 orang. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam beberapa indikator, pengetahuan pedagogi mahasiswa calon guru masih lemah dan perlu adanya peningkatan khususnya dalam menentukan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat. Terkait pengetahuan konten fisika modern, mahasiswa masih banyak mengalami miskonsepsi yang ditunjukan dari nilai rata-rata indikator hampir semua rendah

Abstract

Paper ini memetakan berbagai perspektif tentang game edukasi dan pengaruhnya terhadap kreativitas serta menyatukan pemikiran terbaru di bidang ini. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan teknologi berupa educational game dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Tinjauan Sistematis ini menggunakan 20 publikasi yang berasal indexed journal antara tahun 2011 hingga 2020 untuk menyoroti fokus bidang penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah systematic review dengan pedoman Kitchenham terhadap studi penggunaan educational game untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan educational game memiliki efek aktif dalam memperkuat pemikiran kreatif siswa. Studi ini memberikan saran tentang bagaimanakah metode untuk meningkatkan kreativitas, memotivasi, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar serta mendemonstrasikan pembelajaran dengan educational game. Studi ini memberikan sebuah pandangan untuk peneliti, desainer game, pengembang di bidang educational game dan kreativitas. Research trend on the educational game to improve students’ creativity: A systematic review of literature  AbstractThis paper maps different perspectives on educational games and their impact on creativity and brings together the latest thinking in this area. The main objective of this study was to determine whether the use of technology in the form of educational games could increase student creativity in classroom learning. This Systematic Review uses 20 publications from indexed journals between 2011 and 2020 to highlight the focus of this research area. The method used in this study is a systematic review of Kitchenham's guidelines on the study of the use of educational games to increase student creativity. The results of this study indicate that the use of educational games has an active effect in strengthening students' creative thinking. This study provides suggestions on how to increase creativity, motivate, and improve learning outcomes as well as demonstrate learning with educational games. This study provides a view for researchers, game designers, developers in the fields of educational games and creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of differentiated learning in the Problem Based Learning model on the cognitive learning outcomes of high school students. This research uses a quasi-experimental approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 70 students of class X in one of senior high schools in Cimahi city, Bandung. The instrument used consisted of 4 reasoned multiple choice questions about momentum and impulses to measure students' cognitive learning outcomes. The results showed that the average value of N-Gain in the experimental class was 0.81 in the high category and in the control, class was 0.42 in the medium category. Statistical results show that the value of Asymp.Sig is 0.00 > 0.05. That is, there is an effect of differentiated learning in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the cognitive learning outcomes of high school students on physics material

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the diagnostic instrument validity from Multi-representation of Four-tier Instrument on Transverse Wave (MOFI-OTW), which is useful in exploring the misconceptions. The ADDIE (Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implementing, and Evaluating) model has already been utilized as the research method. In the developing stage, item construction is in the form of multi-representation (statements, pictures, graphs, tables, and mathematical symbols). The sample consisted of 81 high school students aged 16-18 years (23 males called “Cung” and 58 females called “Nduk”) in East Java. Data validity, instrument reliability, and distribution of students' conceptions have been analyzed using the Rasch Model with MINISTEP 4.7.0.0 software. Validity based on item dimensionality is valid. The reliability based on Cronbach Alpha (α) is good category, the value of item reliability is very good category, and person reliability is moderat category. Students’ conceptions are categorized as Sound Understanding (SU), Partial Understanding Positive (PUP), Partial Understanding Negative (PUN), No Understanding (NU), Misconception (MC), and No Coding (NC). The largest conception category is MC. Misconceptions are still found in the sub-concept of transverse wave in various representations. In conclusion, MOFI-OTW can be developed through the ADDIE model by utilizing the Rasch analysis and used to explore students' conceptions and misconceptions.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the model of student’ understandings of changes in the states of matter. An conceptual understanding test  related to the concepts on the changes in the states of matter subject matter  atau disingkat  CSMCUtest  was constructed and given to 40 high school students. Each test item consists of four parts of questions, namely questions A to D. Questions A to C asking students to explain a case determine the physics law related to the case and write a case suitable for the related law or concept. Whereas question D asking students to define concepts of melting, evaporation, condenses and deposition.The data analysis was carried out to determine the quantity of high school students in each category of understanding model,  that  is:  Optimum Model (OM), Uncreative Model (UM), Theoretical Model (TM), Practical Model (PM), Memorizing Model (MM) and Inappropriate Model (IM). As a result of the data analysis it was determined that only a few students had a optimum understanding model. The results showed that the high school student’ have significant weaknesses in understanding the terms of fundamental knowledge of  changes in the states of matter. This may stem from the lack of student to relate scientific knowledge with real life phenomena and experiences.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the ability to learn physics in physics education students in solving physics problems using various types of representation modes. This research was conducted using descriptive qualitative approach. A descriptive qualitative approach was carried out by conducting literature studies in previous research journals to support the validity of this research. The results showed that physics education students are easier to solve problems about modern physics by using the image and graph representation mode than other representation modes
