Abstract

The Jan Endols Dry Cake MSME in Sidoarjo Regency is a custom-made culinary business still managed conventionally, particularly in operational management and marketing strategies. This situation limits business efficiency and market reach, making digitalization a strategic necessity to increase competitiveness. This community service activity aims to strengthen the management and marketing of MSMEs through digital-based mentoring. The mentoring is carried out in a participatory and implementative manner through stages of observation, problem identification, training, and monitoring and evaluation tailored to the needs and capacities of business actors. The mentoring focuses on implementing simple digital financial records, managing orders and production processes, and utilizing social media and marketplaces as marketing tools. The activity results show increased operational efficiency, expanded marketing reach, and an increased understanding and ability of MSMEs in utilizing digital technology. These findings confirm that digital mentoring has significant potential to support the strengthening of management, marketing, and sustainability of culinary MSMEs at the local level, while also serving as a mentoring model for other MSMEs with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Background:Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, particularly in the food processing sector, frequently encounter challenges such as limited production capacity, conventional marketing practices, weak brand identity, and inadequate financial documentation, which hinder sustainable business growth. This community service activity aimed to provide comprehensive assistance to Rona Surya, a traditional snack MSME located in Wagir, Malang Regency, through the formulation of production standard operating procedures (SOPs), digital marketing capacity building, brand identity renewal, human resource development, and simple financial recording training. The activity applied a participatory action approach involving direct observation, structured problem identification, systematic mentoring programs, and reflective evaluation over a 16-week period from January to May 2026. The program resulted in the development of a production SOP, active Instagram and TikTok accounts containing at least five promotional content items, a renewed brand logo, a business banner, a simple organizational structure, a vision and mission document, and a basic cash book. In addition, the business owner demonstrated measurable improvements in digital marketing capabilities, brand awareness management, and understanding the importance of separating personal and business finances.

Abstract

Health-related SMEs in Indonesia have significant opportunities to enter international markets, but many businesses still face limitations in digital capabilities, innovation, and readiness for external markets. This study aims to examine the influence of digital transformation on the success of health-related SMEs in going international, both directly and through business innovation as a mediator. The study employs a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional survey design involving 200 owners or key managers of SMEs in East Java, selected via purposive sampling. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that digital transformation has a positive influence on business innovation and the success of going international. Business innovation also has a positive effect on internationalisation success and mediates the relationship between digital transformation and external market success. These findings confirm that digitalisation should not merely be understood as an operational tool, but as a strategic capability that must be integrated with product, process, marketing, and business model innovation. The research implications emphasise the importance of strengthening digital capabilities and business innovation to enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian health-related SMEs

Abstract

Rural women farmers in developing countries often face significant challenges in scaling their businesses due to conventional management practices and limited access to digital markets. In Wonosari Village, the Women Farmers Group (KWT) possessed abundant local resources like coffee and vegetables but suffered from low added value and lack of professional organizational structures. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a comprehensive intervention focusing on digital transformation and value-added strategies to empower the KWT Wonosari toward entrepreneurial independence. A participatory action research (PAR) approach was employed, involving 50 members of KWT Wonosari. The intervention included intensive workshops on product innovation, digital marketing integration via Instagram and TikTok, branding development, and the implementation of standardized financial reporting and operational procedures (SOP). Data were collected through field observations, pre-and post-training assessments, and qualitative interviews. The findings indicate a significant shift in the members' mindset from subsistence farming to a professional entrepreneurial orientation. The program successfully established a formal organizational structure, generated new value-added processed products, and created a robust digital presence with integrated visual branding. Furthermore, the implementation of simple accounting systems enhanced financial transparency and accountability within the group. This study demonstrates that the synergy between academic expertise and community participation is a critical driver for overcoming the digital divide in rural areas. These results contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 by promoting inclusive economic growth and decent work through community-based digital empowerment.

Abstract

Perkembangan  bisnis UMKM saat ini  telah  berpindah  dari  sistem  konvensional  ke  sistem  digital  marketing  menjadi  peluang  yang  tepat  untuk  perkembangan di  Indonesia. Namun,  pada  kondisinya  saat  ini  masih  terdapat  pelaku usaha  yang  kurang  memahami  digital  marketing  dan  kurangnya  kesadaran  masyarakat atau pengusaha untuk memanfaatkan media digital sebagai sarana untuk mengembangkan kegiatannya. Digital marketing adalah strategi pemasaran yang diterapkan menggunakan platform digital dan Internet untuk mencapai tujuan bisnis. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan digital marketing pada produk UMKM Kue Banjar Sedap Rasa yang terletak di Dusun Cangakrejo, Desa Sumber Nongko, Kec. Ngusikan, Kabupaten Jombang, Jawa Timur, yang bergerak di bidang usaha aneka kue kering sudah berdiri sejak tahun 1990. Adanya pelatihan melalui marketplace, branding di sosial media, mengoptimalkan pemasaran produk Kue Banjar Sedap Rasa akan terus berkembang, jangkauan pemasaran lebih luas dan meningkatkan profitabilitas pada UMKM Kue Banjar Sedap Rasa.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan praktik pariwisata yang konsumtif dan kurang melibatkan partisipasi aktif wisatawan dalam pembelajaran budaya di Kampung Seni Mentaraman, Kabupaten Malang, serta rendahnya standar amenitas dan manajemen homestay. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengembangkan pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis seni lokal dan homestay melalui tiga metode utama: latihan bersama seniman lokal dan mahasiswa, peningkatan amenitas dan pelatihan manajemen homestay, serta pengembangan barcode profil desa dan ragam alat karawitan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa latihan bersama selama 8 kali pertemuan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa memainkan gending pendek dari 0% menjadi 80% dan pemahaman filosofi seni lokal dari skala 3,2 menjadi 8,5. Pendampingan amenitas berhasil menambah elemen seni lokal dalam ruangan homestay dari 13% menjadi 93%, sementara pelatihan manajemen meningkatkan kemampuan promosi media sosial dari skala 2,0 menjadi 7,5 dan pencatatan keuangan dari 3,5 menjadi 8,0. Pengembangan barcode belum terealisasi karena keterbatasan waktu dan anggaran, namun telah disepakati penyelesaian pada September 2025. Kegiatan ini juga menciptakan nilai sosial berupa kebanggaan seniman lokal, relasi setara kampus-masyarakat, dan solidaritas antarpengelola homestay. Kesimpulannya, model pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis seni lokal dan homestay terbukti efektif menciptakan harmoni budaya dan hospitality berkelanjutan di Kampung Seni Mentaraman

Abstract

Kampung Seni Eduwisata Mentaraman di Kabupaten Malang kaya akan gending tradisional, namun pengembangannya terhambat oleh promosi konvensional dan minimnya arsip digital. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses transformasi digital gending tradisional serta menguji efektivitas pendampingan teknologi dalam memperkuat promosi eduwisata. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui koordinasi mitra, survei aset budaya, wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh seni, produksi media profesional, hingga evaluasi dampak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan intervensi program sukses mengonversi pelestarian organik yang terisolasi menjadi ekosistem digital terstruktur melalui kolaborasi lintas sektor. Digitalisasi diwujudkan melalui rekaman gending berkualitas tinggi, katalog berbasis QR-Code, video profil, dan video podcast yang dioptimasi pada platform YouTube, Instagram, dan TikTok. Program ini meningkatkan kualitas dokumentasi budaya permanen serta rasa percaya diri pelaku seni. Keterbatasan SDM digital diatasi melalui pelatihan penyuntingan video berbasis ponsel dan pembentukan kelompok pengelola media sosial demi keberlanjutan konten.

Abstract

SMEs in Indonesia currently contribute only 15.7% to national exports, compared to Thailand, where the export has reached 29%. Therefore, there is significant scope for improvement to increase the contribution, ultimately will give a positive impact to the broader economy, given nearly 90% of the human resources are employed in the SME sector, which benefits from a wealth of natural and other resources. The main issues frequently encountered by SMEs are by optimizing available resources and adhering to established standards to ensure products are market-ready and compliant with the regulators. Qualitative approach conducted within SMEs Local Processor to obtain in-depth insight regarding barriers and constraints encountered, along with the challenges that need to be completed with numerous limitations and a lack of government support. Based on the in-depth interview result, the finding indicates that a significant majority of SMEs Local coffee processor practitioners primarily focus on financial resources in order to grow whereas the other that should be optimized and developed, on both individual and group basis, receive in sufficient attention. Therefore, through an understanding of the available strengths and which are not necessarily possessed by competitors, especially from other countries, the product produced by SMEs Local coffee processors should be capable of competing in the global market by understanding VRIO concept in a resource based view or Valuable, Rare, Inimitable, and Organize. Thus numerous products from SMEs will gain recognition by the global market.

Abstract

Purpose: This community empowerment program in Pagelaran Village aims to empower local SMEs, thereby boosting the local economy through the implementation of digitalization in SDGs entrepreneurship to address the challenges of digital economic competition. Method: This program is implemented in five phases: identification, analysis, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Practical Applications: This initiative enhances the image of local SMEs in Pagelaran Village through professional product design and packaging, while marketing capabilities are strengthened through engaging social media content. Conclusion: Community service aimed at empowering local SMEs in Pagelaran Village can strengthen their capacity and competitiveness, thereby having a positive impact on the local economy.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has created significant opportunities for micro enterprises to expand their market reach through various digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the digital marketing strategy and marketing performance measurement of Fairy Charm, a micro-scale beaded accessories business based in Malang, Indonesia. An exploratory case study method was employed, with data collected through observation, documentation, and digital metrics analysis. The findings reveal that Fairy Charm simultaneously implements a multi-platform digital marketing strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Shopee, WhatsApp Business, and Google My Business, guided by a 4P marketing mix approach. Performance metrics indicate 194 profile visits, 418 total social media impressions, 20 business interactions, and 40 products sold with an average order value of IDR 250,000. Although brand awareness remains limited, consistent visual content strategy and multi-platform management proved effective in establishing an online presence for a newly established business. This study provides practical insights for creative MSMEs in designing and measuring digital marketing strategies during the early stages of business development.
