Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the active and passive usage of the Javanese language by youths aged 10 to 17 in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Conducted in the province's five territorial units of Bantul Regency, Sleman Regency, Kulon Progo Regency, Gunung Kidul Regency, and Yogyakarta City, the specific objective is to determine the extent to which children and adolescents use mass media — particularly television, radio, and social media — as instruments to access contents in Javanese. It is crucial to examine how the constant flow of information affects their exposure to Javanese on various platforms as well as their use of the language on social media This quantitative study surveyed 330 elementary, junior high, and senior high school students from both public and private schools in the province’s rural and urban areas. Similarly, despite its popularity, social media has yet to be used to the maximum by Yogyakarta youth to access content in Javanese or as a means to express the language — a setback created by the dominance of the Indonesian language.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the concept of ambyar in Javanese pop dangdut songs. This research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative research applying Roland Barthes’s semiotic approach and Lecay's representation theory. The data was collected through observation, transcription, and closed interviews. The data taken from Guyon Waton’s song lyrics are categorized into primary data consisting of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences and secondary data in audio consisting of high and low notes and repetition of lyrics. Furthermore, closed interviews were conducted to collect information related to the representation of ambyar, which develops in society. The results show that ambyar in Guyon Waton’s song lyrics is represented through disappointment, heartbreak, abandonment, and unrequited love. On the other hand, the contradicting lyrics describe ambyar as an attitude of resignation, fast move on, and toughness. It indicates a cultural change that develops in society. Therefore, the meaning of ambyar expands as evident by the results of interviews that illustrate the positive meaning of ambyar in events, food, and activities. In contrast, it remains negative in the context of politics, education, and love.

Abstract

The playfulness of English is the result of language interference, which can be a source of creating new English variations. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of English playfulness by hawkers at Kuta Beach, Lombok, and the factors of English playfulness. The method is descriptive qualitative. The data collection by ‘simak libat cakap’ or involved conversation observation technique, recording, and taking notes technique. The data analysis method is reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Data analysis shows that the playfulness of English by hawkers comes from loan translation in the form of reduplication of Indonesian and Sasak words into English. There are two forms of loan translation: a change in the meaning of English in accordance with Sasak and Indonesian, and not experiencing a change in meaning but experiencing the addition of English meaning in accordance with Sasak and Indonesian. The factors causing the English playfulness are internal factors such as the difference in vocabulary structure from Sasak and Indonesian to English and the influence of Indonesian and Sasak as the dominant language. Factors external the language are influential in English playfulness, such as level of education, economic status, occupation, regional origin, and the situation of speech.

Abstract

The mechanism of action of sharia insurance is essential to distinguish between Shariah insurance with conventional insurance lies in how the work is done from the premium deposits, investment funds, to the payment of insurance claims to participants stricken or disaster. Everything is summed up in the concept of the working mechanism Shariah insurance. Discussion about the mechanism of action or Shariah insurance, will be divided in two basic discussion in accordance with Shariah insurance payment itself, the family insurance and insurance Shari'ah common. This division is very important to do considering the mechanism of action of these two Shariah suransi it memuliki little difference, namely in the management of premiums paid to insurance companies Shari'ah. Difference arises because "something" that is to be insuranced is different, if in general insurance (loss) the insured's property or the property insurance participants, whereas in family insurance (life) which is self-insured insurance participants themselves. While the claims payment procedure is no difference between a family Takaful and Takaful general. The difference lies in the source of payment of claims. For the payment of claims to family Takaful insurance participants apart from savings and profit sharing of investment is also sourced from the savings tabarru', whereas in the general Takaful is not a savings tabarru' but the pristine source of savings and profit sharing insurance participants, while the payment of claims to do participants at the stricken insurance or out of contract or insurance participants withdrew into Islamic insurance company clients and most importantly Takaful insurance is not the same as conventional.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The umbilical cord is an essential life-sustaining support that represents a strong connection to the fetomaternal interface, functioning to support fetal development and fetal neuro-motor development. When the baby is born, the umbilical cord is cut, and there is a residual stump that must dry and fall off by day 5 to 15 after birth. In the active management of the third stage of labor, the World Health Organization (1998) recommends clamping the umbilical cord early for 1 minute. While The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends delaying the clamping of the umbilical cord early / immediately after the baby is born, so when is the best time to clamp the umbilical cord after the baby is born is still controversial. This study aims to determine the effect of delayed umbilical cord clamping on newborns. Either positive or negative impact. Methods: Literature search involving the Science Direct database and published articles published between 2016-2021 with the key words effect the timing of umbilical cord Clamping; Results: 7 articles discussed the effect of the timing of umbilical cord clamping in infants. The results in the analysis revealed the impact of delaying umbilical cord clamping, both positive and negative impacts. Conclusion: Delayed cord clamping of more than 5 minutes has been shown to have lower residual placental blood volume. This is associated with higher ferritin levels and hemoglobin levels. Researchers chose to use a cord clamping time of more than 5 minutes (more than 60%) because delayed cord clamping in newborns is a vulnerable part of the population. It is important to continue to investigate further to identify the impact of delayed clamping on infants.
