Abstract

Design thinking has emerged as a critical 21st-century competence, yet it remains under-emphasised in Islamic schools, particularly Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic senior high schools). This study investigates the design-thinking mindset of Madrasah Aliyah students studying digital-technology-based physics concepts. Employing a descriptive-correlational design, we used descriptive statistics and Pearson/Spearman correlation analyses to examine relationships among five dimensions of design thinking: (1) Growth Mindset and Endurance, (2) Empathy and Human-Centred Design, (3) Teamwork and Diverse Perspectives, (4) Creativity and Problem-Solving through Prototyping, and (5) Curiosity and Learning Motivation. Data were gathered from 136 students using a validated 25-item questionnaire. Overall mindset levels ranged from moderate to high; Curiosity and Empathy recorded the highest scores, whereas Endurance ranked lowest. Gender- and grade-level comparisons revealed that female students exhibited significantly higher Endurance. Although the cross-sectional design limited insights into developmental trends, a significant negative correlation emerged between Endurance and the other dimensions. These findings highlight the need to balance resilience with curiosity, creativity, and empathy within a design-thinking framework and offer guidance for integrating digital technologies and design-thinking principles into physics instruction while respecting the madrasah cultural context. Future research could explore the impact of interactive digital physics simulations on the development of the five design-thinking dimensions among Madrasah Aliyah students.

Abstract

Kata kunci: analisis numerik, analisis respon statik, analisis respon dinamik, analisis stabilitas, BendunganABSTRACTDuring construction and operation, dams can experience damage. One factor that can cause damage to a dam is an earthquake. If this damage is not anticipated, it can result in failure and disaster which can result in material and life losses. To avoid such disasters, good planning is needed before construction. The response of the dam, both static and dynamic conditions, needs to be known to evaluate the safety of the dam design. The Melati dam is planned to be a composite dam with a zoned fill dam on the left side and a roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dam on the right side. Analysis using the finite element method was carried out on the embankment dam section. Sequential static response analysis using 23 lifts showed that there was an oval-shaped settlement in the middle of the core with the largest settlement of 34 cm and a horizontal displacement of 8 cm towards the downstream side at the end of construction. In this study, acceleration recordings were used based on deaggregation of seismic hazard analysis for three different earthquake mechanisms and then spectral acceleration amplification was carried out based on the obtained PGA. Based on the controlling earthquake parameters, the Tohoku earthquake was used with an amplification of 0.8 for the megathrust mechanism, the Iwate earthquake with an amplification of 2.5 for the fault mechanism, and the Patea earthquake with an amplification of 4.3 for the shallow crustal mechanism. Permanent deformation based on stress redistribution analysis showed that the largest deformation was 22 cm for the Tohoku earthquake, 29 cm for the Iwate earthquake, and 19.9 cm for the Patea earthquake. Based on the safety analysis, the dam slopes have very good safety factors in static condition and sufficient in dynamic conditions. However, factor of safety on the upstream side are close to 1 at the end of Tohoku and Iwate earthquakes which was assumed to be not safe. Keywords: numerical analysis, static response analysis, dynamic response analysis, stability analysis, Dam

Abstract

The psychological and cognitive impacts of emotionally powerful films, especially those with melancholic themes, require further scrutiny in an age of pervasive media consumption. This study intends to systematically evaluate the current literature about the influence of sad-themed film consumption on daily decision-making processes. A critical review process was employed to analyse 38 peer-reviewed publications from prestigious journals in psychology, neuroscience, and media studies. The results indicate four principal thematic patterns: (1) emotional carryover effects that disrupt cognitive control, (2) sadness-induced alterations in risk perception and decision-making preferences, (3) media-induced cognitive fatigue after extended exposure, and (4) individual variances in susceptibility influenced by personality traits and emotional regulation abilities. The findings indicate that melancholic films may not only elicit emotional reactions but also subtly diminish cognitive performance, especially in tasks necessitating attention, judgement, and executive function. The research enhances the comprehensive understanding of media influences by connecting emotional and cognitive aspects. It underscores the necessity for enhanced understanding among viewers, educators, and doctors concerning the cognitive ramifications of emotionally charged media. Future study should empirically examine these interactions utilizing ecologically valid and longitudinal methodologies.

Abstract

In the digital era, literature has transcended conventional print to include interactive, multimodal, and participatory storytelling formats. This change has engendered digital literature, a genre that increasingly converges with consumer culture. Despite the increasing ubiquity of narrative-driven content in digital contexts, the impact of digital literature on consumer behavior remains little examined. This study seeks to analyze the influence of digital literary narratives on customer attitudes, identity, trust, and decision-making. The study utilizes a critical review process to combine findings from peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed journals in marketing, psychology, and digital humanities. The analysis identifies four principal themes: (1) narrative immersion amplifies emotional engagement and receptiveness to marketing messages; (2) digital literature functions as a symbolic resource for identity formation and lifestyle congruence; (3) narrative coherence and authenticity cultivate trust in digital content; and (4) literary narratives affect consumer decisions via both affective and cognitive processes. These findings indicate that digital literature is not simply a cultural artifact but a tactical medium for consumer persuasion. The research enhances interdisciplinary scholarship by merging literary theory with consumer behavior studies and provides actionable insights for marketers and content providers aiming to captivate consumers through narrative. Future study should empirically validate these conclusions through experimental and longitudinal methodologies.

Abstract

The entrepreneurship movement is one of the government's efforts to address the increasing unemployment problem. High innovation and creativity skills are essential in entrepreneurship. Moreover, Indonesia is abundant in local potential that can serve as material for entrepreneurship. However, not all people have an understanding of the local potential to be used as eco-souvenirs. This is also faced by the Pondok Pesantren Zainul Hasan Genggong. The Pondok Pesantren Zainul Hasan Genggong is able to produce used cooking oil waste reaching around 3,105 liters per day, but this waste is not utilized and is only dumped into the environment. In addition, in the Pesantren area, there are also quite a lot of moringa leaves available, but they are only used as fences. To overcome the existing problems, the community service team of the State University of Malang (UM) conducted training to utilize used cooking oil and moringa leaves as eco-souvenirs in the form of aromatherapy candles and liquid detergents. This activity was carried out using lecture and practice methods, which began with pre-training activities. Pre-training was carried out with the aim of providing insight into the basics of entrepreneurship. Furthermore, training was carried out on making liquid detergent and aromatherapy candles. In addition to providing insight into the making of the two products, the research team also provided participants with information on how to present and sell products directly to the general public. Evidently, participants succeeded in selling the aromatherapy candle products they made for 30 minutes. This series of training was followed with great enthusiasm, actively, and interactively. The evaluation results showed a good response from the participants as a whole. The material is in accordance with the practice and needs of the cottage. This shows that the eco-souvenir making training activity was successfully carried out well and had a significant impact on the participants.
