Abstract

A home state monitoring is important for homeowners. Because in Indonesia, theft and fire are common occurrences. This is caused by the negligence of homeowners. Therefore, home security monitoring systems are made to minimize theft and house fires. In this study, home security monitoring systems were made using human motion detection sensors or PIR (Passive Infrared Receiver) sensors, temperature sensors, flame detectors, buzzers, and pumps. The PIR sensor is used to detect thieves so buzzer can sound. The Temperature sensor and flame detector are used to detect fires then the pump will extinguish the fire. The system is then integrated with android HP devices, so homeowners can monitor the home wherever and whenever. From the test results, PIR sensor can detect human movement with a distance of 3.4 meters and the angle is 90o. The Temperature sensors and flame detectors detect temperatures and hotspots with a maximum distance of 25 cm, respectively

Abstract

The objectives of the present research were to describe the characteristics of authentic assessment used in the English Textbook “Stop Bullying Now” and to find out the characteristics of the most dominant authentic assessment applied in the book “Stop Bullying Now” used for the eleventh grade students of senior high school. This research was a library research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data which were obtained from document analysis were analyzed using concurrent activity flows from (Miles et al, 2014). The results of this research showed that the textbook had applied authentic assessments to all English skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, among the four skills, listening was the skill with the least activity. The textbook applied eight out of nine characteristics (realistic activity or context, cognitively complex, performance-based, formative assessment, collaborative, defense is required, multiple indicators or portfolio, and mastery expectation). The textbook did not apply the criteria known by students because it did not illustrate how teacher assessed students’ work. The most dominant criteria used in this textbook was realistic activity or context. This textbook also took a lot of materials related to the real-life of students.

Abstract

This paper introduces two advantages of a fuzzy logic controller for the first is stability voltage and the second is maximum energy extraction for fixed speed wind power generation systems. Maximum energy extraction is determined by thetip speedratio (TSR) and the power factor of a wind turbine in order to capture the maximum efficiency and control the speed of turbine in order to control voltage stability. While the TSRand power factor were taken as output variables we propose control the tip speed of generator in surrounding the value of maximum TSR. The proposedmodel produced fuzzy logic controller can keep the voltage stability at maximum TSR and nearest. The results indicate that we can do two task (power max extraction and stability voltage) in one design.

Abstract

Teacher competence is one of the essential aspects of achieving educational goals and targets. The competence of teachers is also very influential in the learning process. The problem that often arises is that not all teachers have competencies by the standards set. This study aims to analyze the performance role of madrasah supervisors in improving the competence of Madrasah teachers and their obstacles. Qualitative research with a descriptive approach is the method used in this research. The informants of this study amounted to 12 people who were representatives of teachers, principals and madrasah supervisors in the Bringin sub-district, Semarang district, Central Java. Data collection used interview techniques and documentation with instruments in the form of structured interview guides and documentation checklist guides. Data analysis techniques used three steps: data reduction, presentation, and verification. The study results concluded that a good supervisor's role can affect a teacher's performance. The obstacles faced in supervision are the madrasah teachers experiencing a decline in performance due to age factors approaching retirement.

Abstract

This research has two main objectives: 1) To assess the pedagogical competence of Pancasila Education teachers in implementing student-centered assessment processes and outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura. 2) To analyze the inhibiting factors faced by Pancasila Education teachers in carrying out student-centered assessment processes and outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura. This qualitative study sources data from informants (Pancasila Education teachers), observations of the teaching and assessment processes, as well as documents such as teaching materials for grades X and XI. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling techniques, and data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validation utilized data and technique triangulation. Data analysis followed the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing as per the Miles and Huberman (1984) approach. The results indicate that Pancasila Education teachers possess good pedagogical competence, but there are still deficiencies in the development of assessment instruments. The assessment process is carried out through the stages of formulating objectives, selecting instruments, conducting assessments, managing results, and reporting. Inhibiting factors include difficulties in understanding student characteristics, the high number of extracurricular activities, and time constraints in conducting assessments.
