Abstract

Early children need language to express their ideas. Thus, they will need to master expressive language skills. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the symbolic modeling learning model assisted by using a doll toward the early children’s expressive language skills. This is experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the research consisted of 30 children aged 5-6 years old in PGRI Sarimulyo and PGRI Sarimulyo 02 preschools. The data were taken by purposive sampling on 30 children aged 5-6 years old. The data collection technique was observation sheets of expressive language skills with a 1-4 liker scale. Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test were applied to test the hypothesis. The result show that the symbolic modeling method assisted by a doll is effective for the students learning outcomes after being intervened. It proves that the symbolic modeling method assisted by a doll is effective to improve the expressive language skills of early childhood children at PGRI Sarimulyo Kindergarten

Abstract

In primary schools, students are given lessons that can be used to develop their character and various potentials, one of them is science subjects. The CLIS model can be used as an alternative learning model in teaching science because it contains constructivist learning elements that lead to meaningful learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the constructivist learning model using Children Learning In Science (CLIS) type in improving student learning outcomes. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The sample was taken using a random cluster technique were students of grade V SDN 2 Patikraja as the control class and students of grade V SDN 1 Notog as the experimental class. The data analysis used was a one-sample proportion test, N-Gain analysis, and independent-sample t-test. The results show that the use of the CLIS constructivist learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes compared to learning with the expository method. This is evidenced by the increase in student scores before and after the implementation of the CLIS constructivist learning model is in the medium category, students in experimental class achieve classical completeness >75%, and the average learning outcomes of the experimental class is higher than the control class, as well as students shows positive responses. So this research can be helpful for the students and the teachers in learning sains.

Abstract

The social skills of children already exist since they are born. Thus, they should obtain stimulation at their early age so they can maximally develop. It is because social skills are important for every individual to create interaction with their environments. This research aims to test the effectiveness of the telling method assisted with flannel apron toward the early childhood children's social skills. This research applied the experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection techniques were observation sheets and social skills. The sampling technique was purposive sampling because the researchers took the sample with certain considerations from a population. The data analyses were Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon hypothetic tests. The tests showed that the method assisted with a flannel apron could effectively improve the learners' learning outcomes. The hypothetic tests showed that the applied method significantly influenced the social skill improvement of children aged 5-6 years old with a p lesser than 0.05. It was obtained from the mean score of the children's social skills after being treated. They got the category of excellently appropriately developed (BSB). The hypothetic test also showed a p-value lesser than 0.05. It proved the effectiveness of the telling method assisted with a flannel apron to improve social skills of the early childhood.
