Abstract

In early elementary school classes, during initial writing learning, students face various difficulties, for example, recognizing letters, forming words, and constructing coherent sentences. This research uses a qualitative phenomenological design approach. The research was based on primary data from five parents of grade 1 elementary school students. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is Milles and Huberman (reduction, presentation, and verification). Data credibility testing was also carried out through data source triangulation. Research findings show that the key to the success of students' initial writing learning is the role of parents at home. Parental support so that students are enthusiastic about learning is by providing stationery, study space, agreed study hours, and giving more appreciation. Parents direct students to form more lines and draw when learning to write. Then, when students learn to write letters, parents use checkerboard books so that the morphology of the letters and the distance between the letters are consistent. Students are instructed by their parents to write down the names of objects at home. Parents' main focus is to foster students' learning motivation by paying attention to students' self-confidence in learning to write.

Abstract

Dunia Pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan, dan teknologi terus mengalami perkembangan. Hal tersebut mengharuskan adanya inovasi pembelajaran teks cerita pendek untuk siswa BIPA tingkat mahir. Artikel ini menjelaskan terkait tanggapan siswa BIPA tingkat mahir terhadap penggunaan bahan ajar cerita pendek berbasis web yang dapat diakses melalui laman bipaberkisah.com. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). Studi ini membahas secara detail terkait tahap evaluasi atau respons dari sudut pandang pengguna yaitu siswa BIPA tingkat mahir. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa BIPA tingkat mahir di sebuah Universitas di Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner dengan menggunakan skala Likert 1-5 dan dihitung secara kuantitatif serta dijelaskan lebih lanjut menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan siswa terhadap materi cerita pendek berbasis web umumnya baik dan pengadaan bahan ajar teks narasi terkhusus cerita pendek berbasis website dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang inovatif yang dapat para siswa manfaatkan.

Abstract

The general purpose of this Community Service (PkM) activity aim to provide knowledge and training to Indonesian MAN teachers throughout West Java. In particular, this PkM activity aims to improve teacher competence in evaluating Indonesian language and literature learning. This activity is important because the demands of education in the 21st century and the industrial era 4.0 are increasingly complex. This activity uses the lecture method and hands-on practice, which is divided into two sessions. The first session is a presentation that two presenters fill while the second session is a parallel session filled with five presenters. The media used are Zoom Meeting, Google Drive, and so on. The results of this activity indicate an increase in the teacher's ability to understand the material. This can be seen in the results of the pre-test and post-test, which increased by 37.25%. In addition, participants' responses showed very positive results.

Abstract

Tujuan umum dari kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini yaitu untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pelatihan kepada para guru Bahasa Indonesia MAN se-Jawa Barat. Secara khusus, kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam melakukan evaluasi pada pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia. Kegiatan ini penting untuk dilakukan sebab tuntutan pendidikan di abad ke-21 dan era industri 4.0 semakin kompleks. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah dan praktik langsung yang dibagi menjadi dua sesi. Sesi pertama adalah pematerian yang diisi oleh dua pemateri sedangkan sesi kedua adalah sesi paralel yang diisi oleh lima pemateri. Media yang digunakan adalah Zoom Meeting, Google Drive, dan sebagainya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam memahami materi. Hal ini dilihat pada hasil pre-test dan post-test yang mengalami peningkatan sebesar 37.25%. Selain itu, respons peserta menunjukkan hasil yang sangat positif.

Abstract

Literasi budaya merupakan cara pandang seseorang dalam menyikapi segala sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan budaya, dari mulai bahasa hingga kesenian. Berbicara tentang literasi budaya, saat ini bukan lagi dikaitkan dengan membaca dan menulis persoalan budaya, tetapi lebih luas daripada itu. Sehingga dalam kaitannya dengan literasi budaya, peserta didik perlu mengenal hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan budaya, baik itu budaya tradisional maupun budaya modern. Dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dan deskriptif, pendekatan kuantitatif-kualitatif, dan teknik studi pustaka, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dan resepsi belajar bahasa Sunda peserta didik sebelum dan setelah digunakannya model pendidikan literasi budaya. Dalam pelaksanaannya, percobaan model pendidikan literasi budaya ini dihubungkan dengan pembelajaran autentik, kolaboratif, dan konstruktivisme sosial dengan bantuan model pembelajaran project based learning pada materi Kaulinan Barudak di kelas VII SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Data penelitian diambil dari 23 peserta didik kelas VII-D. Hasilnya didapatkan, bahwa model pendidikan literasi budaya ini diterima peserta didik serta efektif dalam meningkatkan minat peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Sunda.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need for a descriptive and analytical research related to the basic dimensions of early reading skills of elementary school students to determine the level of students’ reading skills, including their difficulties in learning to read. This study aims to get a picture of the early reading skills of elementary school students in Bandung. The results of this study can be used as a guide for education practitioners, policy makers, and related institutions. Through a descriptive and analytical method, the findings are (1) 98percent of students are able to identify letters in words, to analyze words, to identify the direction of letters, and to arrange letters into words. (2) 96percent of students are able to strip words into syllables, to sort syllables in words, to identify words with the same forms, to identify words with the same meanings, to replace words with logical words, to insert words in incomplete sentences, and to identify abstract words. (3) The students seem to have difficulties in identifying similar consonant sounds, in identifying similarities in vowel and schwa sounds, in identifying sounds that are similar in sentences, and in identifying reversed sounds. Only 57percent of students do not encounter obstacles. (4) 90percent of students are capable of making sentences from random words, making sentences from words that are not sequential, correcting sentences that have wrong words, identifying simple sentences in paragraphs, and understanding simple sentences. (5) 70percent of students have the ability to understand shapes, sizes, locations, and colors. This study has implications for the need for an integrated remedial program that can be used by both teachers and parents, especially for students who have difficulties with sound identification abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about the level of digital literacy of Indonesian students. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of research conducted on 306 Indonesian students from several universities spread across the islands of Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi and Riau, it was found that the positive response from respondents in the aspect of information literacy was 87.27%, Digital Scholarship 93.77%, Learning Skills 85 .50%, ICT Literacy 69.50%, Privacy Management 77.57%, Communication and Collaboration 79.83% and Media Literacy 78.57%. So it can be concluded that 81.71% of respondents are used to doing daily activities that lead to indicators of a person's high level of digital literacy. The current learning process must also utilize technology according to current needs. Everyone should be able to continue to improve their digital literacy skills. This is because digital technology is also very supportive of a person's process of self-development and seeking knowledge as much as possible without any limitations of space and time.

Abstract

Membaca artikel jurnal merupakan proses membaca akademik yang sama sekali berbeda dengan membaca artikel di surat kabar, majalah, atau sebuah blog. Kosakata khusus, format yang terstruktur, dan penggunaan ragam bahasa ilmiah membuat mahasiswa membutuhkan strategi, pengetahuan, dan waktu yang lebih banyak daripada membaca tulisan-tulisan biasa pada umumnya. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis hambatan dan kebutuhan mahasiswa dalam penugasan membaca artikel jurnal yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kegiatan pembelajaran membaca akademik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik kuesioner, dengan menyebarkan angket melalui google form kepada mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH), Tanjungpinang, Kepulauan Riau. Hasil yang diperoleh pertama mahasiswa memiliki kendala dalam melaksanakan tahapan proses membaca artikel jurnal, permasalahan tersebut paling banyak terjadi pada tahapan prabaca atau sebelum membaca, yaitu kesulitan dalam menentukan kata kunci untuk menemukan artikel yang sesuai dengan tujuan membaca di berbagai laman pencarian. Permasalahan ini berkaitan erat dengan literasi informasi dan literasi digital. Kedua, mahasiwa membutuhkan penilaian yang melihat hasil dan proses pengerjaan atau penilaian autentik; objektif; jelas; dan transparan. Ketiga, mahasiswa memerlukan rubrik penilaian dan petunjuk pengerjaan soal sebagai pedoman dalam mengerjakan tugas. Keempat, penilaian tidak hanya sekadar angka namun juga memberikan umpan balik yang bisa menumbuhkan mtoivasi mahasiswa dalam mengerjakan tugas membaca artikel. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi gambaran dan dasar dalam mengembangkan instrumen penilaian untuk pembelajaran membaca teks akademik di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

In this paper, an analysis of the results of the evaluation of Indonesian language proficiency for foreign speakers is presented. The development of a standardized Indonesian language for foreign speakers (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing -  BIPA) evaluation tool is currently considered very important. Currently, the existing evaluation tools are still made partially depending on the needs of institutions that provide the Indonesian language program for foreign speakers (BIPA). In addition, this need is also driven by the need for foreign speakers to measure their proficiency in Indonesian. Although there is an Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (UKBI) as an evaluation tool in Indonesia, UKBI is considered not in accordance with the needs of measuring the Indonesian language proficiency of foreign speakers because UKBI is still used to measure the Indonesian language skills of native speakers. This has become one of the problems in the field of evaluation of the Indonesian language, especially BIPA. The language evaluation tool used to measure a person’s foreign language proficiency always begins with a listening proficiency test. Listening is considered the gateway to other language proficiency. The solution to this problem is to analyze listening evaluation tools in foreign languages that are used continuously and continuously, such as the Test of English for International Communication (TOIEC), the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), and Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF), which represents three continents; American, Asian, and European spoken by Indonesian speakers. This study used a descriptive method to solve this research problem. The results of this study describe the profile of the listening proficiency evaluation tool in foreign and Indonesian languages in three ways: 1) speakers (speaker stimulus presenter), 2) content, and 3) audio. Furthermore, the results of this analysis can also be used as the basis for developing the BIPA listening competency evaluation model.

Abstract

Effective and efficient assessment of writing learning plays an important role in improving students' writing ability. Students' writing skills tend to be low so that they have not been able to achieve the expected learning objectives. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the implementation of high school students' writing learning assessment using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model. This evaluative method was conducted at high schools in the Bandung Raya area using purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 120 students, 6 teachers, and 3 school leaders. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation which were analyzed using descriptive data analysis. The findings showed that the evaluation of the implementation of the assessment of learning to write on the average components of context, input, process, and product was in the good enough category with an average score of 2.91 and 2.87. The evaluation aspects analyzed include conditions, needs, teacher competencies, learner characteristics, availability of facilities and infrastructure, planning, implementation, implementation results, and the impact of the implementation of writing learning assessment in high school. Based on the findings of the analysis, improvement efforts are needed, especially in the component of writing learning assessment products that can be adapted to the diversity of students.
