Abstract

The teaching modules should be carefully designed to not only cover the academic aspects of literature but also to incorporate elements that foster cultural understanding and appreciation. The goal is to create a comprehensive learning framework that allows students to explore literature in a way that is both intellectually stimulating and culturally enlightening. Therefore, this study aims to develop instructional module reflecting the didactic theories and local wisdom principles to facilitate students to practice writing short stories. These theoretical principles are integrated in the module components, namely in the material, training and evaluation sections, student activities in the Module, glossary, and Module illustrations/graphics. The research method uses the R2D2 (Reflective, Recursive, Design and Development) design. Characteristics of the R2D2 model include being recursive, non-linear, sometimes irregular, reflective, and collaborative. However, this model emphasizes learning in a meaningful context. Formative assessment is considered highly important. This research method emphasizes the subjectivity of the model developer. The research commenced with a reflective activity, which is the needs analysis phase, aimed at elucidating the gaps in short story writing instruction. To obtain accurate information regarding the issues at hand, the researcher engaged in a recursive process encompassing all components related to learning and the design of the short story writing module. The results of the research are a prototype of a short story writing module that can be adapted to other text genres in various literary learning materials.

Abstract

Abstract

Instagram is one of the social media of choice for 1.39 billion active users, including regional leaders who use this platform to convey information through captions in their content. The captions of Ridwan Kamil and Ganjar Pranowo, as regional heads with millions of followers, were chosen by researchers to be analyzed using a qualitative approach and critical discourse analysis (AWK) developed by Teun A. Van Dijk. Data taken from the Instagram captions of the two regional heads during the Cianjur earthquake disaster period at the end of November 2022 and the 2023 New Year's Eve floods that occurred in Semarang. The aim of this research is to identify the syntactic microstructure of regional leaders' Instagram caption discourse, which includes: (1) coherence, (2) sentence structure, and (3) use of pronouns. The results of the research show that there are similarities and differences in the estimates of the two regional leaders on each microstructural element. In Ridwan Kamil, elements of causal and positive coherence, active and passive sentence forms, as well as the use of the pronouns "I" and "we" were found. Meanwhile, in Ganjar Pranowo, elements of causal and positive coherence, active sentence forms, and the use of the pronoun "we" were found. Abstract

This study aims to enhance learners' writing competence in line with their individual talents and interests, structured through the stages of pre-learning, core activities, and closing. Competence development is facilitated through constructivist principles, applied during the writing process based on specific themes within various text genres. Within the constructivist framework, learners actively engage in sorting, selecting, and organizing content areas (writing topics) as a foundation for their writing. Subsequently, learners refine their work by editing, revising, and ultimately publishing their writing for reader engagement, appreciation, feedback, and assessment. This study employs a systematic literature review methodology, analyzing a total of 65 journal articles across four databases, focusing on primary school writing instruction, constructivist learning models, and their applications in writing pedagogy. The review process involved identification, primary data selection, data extraction and synthesis of results. The findings of this review will offer insights into effective instructional strategies to support writing skills development in primary school contexts, emphasizing the role of constructivism in the writing learning process.
