Abstract

Previous studies have examined leadership and democratic values in Islamic boarding schools, including modern leadership styles and daily activities that reflect democratic principles. However, research on organizational development as a foundation for democratic education in modern pesantren remains limited. This study aims to describe the actualization of democracy education through the development of the organizational structure. This study used qualitative descriptive methods. The result of this study shows that the organizational leadership structure must adopt a democratic and collective pattern to eliminate power dominance by any single individual or group. Deliberation serves as the foundation for establishing and implementing the organizational system in modern boarding schools. The findings of this study can contribute to the scientific development of Islamic education by presenting a model of a democratic modern Islamic boarding school organizational structure, which is able to integrate democratic values into institutional practices and learning as a form of innovation in character and citizenship education.

Abstract

This community service program (PkM) aims to address significant welfare gaps in remote areas. Such as in rural areas in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. This PkM focuses on integrated Islamic religious education, health and social services as an actualization of Al-Maun theology initiated by KH Ahmad Dahlan (founder of Muhammadiyah). Islamic religious education services, especially in remote areas such as Pucung Village, Eromoko District, Wonogiri are among the most concerning. Due to various limitations, such as lack of teachers, minimal educational facilities, minimal social activities and a quality of life that is far from healthy. This fact encourages the PkM Team to provide solutions in the form of programs and activities designed to improve the quality of life of the community in terms of education, health and social. Guidance activities are carried out with religious guidance to improve understanding and quality of worship and other Islamic education. Muhammadiyah Post School which provides non-formal education at the ronda post. In addition, there is also Health Education to increase health awareness in the community. This program will involve various stakeholders, including local governments, schools, communities, and religious organizations. Through good collaboration, it is hoped that it can create a conducive, sustainable living environment that can reflect the characteristics of Al-Maun theology with a focus on the three areas as mentioned.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are an important competency in facing the challenges of the 21st-century world. Therefore, collaboration skills need to be developed since students are in school. The Project-Based Learning (PJBL) learning model, whose learning center is focused on students, is said to be able to improve students' collaboration skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the PjBL model in Senior High School (SMA) and examine its contribution to improving students' collaboration skills.   This study uses a literature review method. Analysis was carried out on the implementation of PjBL and the indicators of collaboration skills developed. The data was taken from the Google Scholar and Publish or Perish databases, with the article criteria being an Indonesian article about implementing the Project-Based Learning learning model in high school students with a publication period of 2015 to 2025. 18 articles met these criteria. The results of the study show that to obtain effective implementation of PjBL, teachers must know the proper stages of implementation of PjBL and be able to carry out their role as facilitators well. PjBL has improved students' collaboration skills in five key dimensions: active participation, effective communication, group responsibility, respect for differences, and resource management. These findings reinforce the importance of implementing PjBL as an effective approach in shaping students' collaboration skills in the 21st-century learning era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of deep learning (DL) and problem based learning (PBL) on the active and independent learning of students with the mediation variable of self-regulated learning (SRL) at high school in Surakarta. The research method used was an explanatory quantitative approach with data collection through a closed questionnaire distributed to 157 students in grades X and XI. Data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach SmartPLS 4.0 software. The analysis stage includes evaluating the measurement model (outer model) by testing convergent validity (AVE). Furthermore, the structural model (inner model) was analyzed by testing the path coefficient and significance using the bootstrapping method. Hypothesis testing was carried out with the ho rejection criterion if the p-value was < 0.05 and the t-statistic > 1.96. The results of the study show that deep learning and problem based learning have a significant effect on active and independent learning, both directly and through the mediation of self-regulated learning. All study variables met the criteria for validity and reliability, as indicated by AVE and Cronbach's alpha values above 0.5 and 0.7. The model fit index (SRMR = 0.089, and NFI = 0.931) confirms the fit of the proposed model. The results show that deep learning and problem based learning significantly affect active and independent learning through self-regulated learning strategies and are capable of enhancing students’ active involvement and independence in learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of digital literacy skills in enhancing soft skills in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. Using the TPACK approach (Technology, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge), this research integrates technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge into the learning process. Digital literacy is considered essential in developing students’ soft skills, such as communication, discipline, ethics, and social abilities. The research method is qualitative, with field research conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta using a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with the PAI subject teachers and the students, and documentation. Data analysis involved reduction, data presentation, and verification using source and technique triangulation. The findings show that the implementation of the TPACK approach in PAI learning improves students’ digital literacy, which positively impacts their soft skill development. However, challenges include limited access to technology, lack of technical support, and teacher resistance to change. The study emphasizes that effective application of digital literacy can enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence and professionalism, supporting more interactive and innovative learning. Therefore, infrastructure support and teacher training in technology use are needed to optimize PAI learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to find a model of human Islamic education for the Dayak Bakumpai tribe in Puruk Cahu, Murung Raya Regency, Central Kalimantan, and factors that support and hinder the implementation of humanism Islamic education. This research was qualitative research using the field study method. Data were collected through observation, field interviews, and documentation in the form of manuscripts and articles related to the research's subject. The object of this research was Islamic education institutions comprised of formal, non-formal, and informal education institutions. The research subjects were Islamic religious teachers, preachers, Bakumpai Dayak people, and religious leaders. The approach used was ethnography-phenomenology, emphasizing studying and interpreting the nomenclature of the Dayak ethnic group. The analysis was done using descriptive analysis, which looks for correlation and significance between the data collected to arrive at results that are in line with the predicted outcomes. The findings of the research indicate that the humanism Islamic education model of the Dayak tribe can be divided into three categories: (1) formal education; at SMA Muhammadiyah, this was accomplished through a self-development program in the form of extracurricular activities such as the martial arts Tapak Suci, Hizbul Wathon, and counselling and guidance. (2). Non-formal education; at Pondok Pesantren Karya Pembangunan in the form of Speech training, Nasyid, Habsyi, and leadership training. (3). Informal education; in the form of arisan (a kind of social gathering activity), community development for converts, and religious lectures in mosques. Humanism Islamic education was influenced by several factors, such as Sufism, immigrants, trade, and marriage.
