Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe student academic procrastination, (2) describe student self-control, and  (3) examine the relationship of self-control with student academic procrastination. This type of research is quantitative research using a descriptive and correlational analysis approach. The population in this study were students of class VII, VIII, and IX SMP N 12 Padang and the amount of samples was 270 students taken using proportional stratified random techniques. This study uses two data analysis techniques, descriptive analysis and correlational analysis. Descriptive analysis is using the percentage formula. While correlational analysis uses the product moment correlation formula and the calculation is assisted by using the SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. The results of the study showed (1) the level of academic procrastination in Padang SMP N 12 students in general was in the high category, (2) the level of self-control of SMP N 12 Padang students was generally in the low category, and (3) there was a significant relationship between self -control with academic procrastination students of SMP N 12 Padang with a correlation coefficient of -0.141 and a significance level of 0.020.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low motivation to learn students, especially male students. This objective of the research is to find out to find out the differences in learning motivation between male and female students of SMAN 1 Bayang Academic Year 2017/2018. This research is comparative research. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Bayang. This sampling technique is in proportionate stratified random sampling of 150 people. Data analysis techniques are using the t test (independent sample t test). The results of the analysis show that the average learning motivation of male students (Study at Senior High School 1 Shadow) 2017/2018 Academic Year is 88,613. The average learning motivation of female students (Study at SMAN 1 Bayang) 2017/2018 Academic Year is 94,493. There are differences in learning motivation between male and female students (Study at Senior High School 1 Shadow) Academic Year 2017/2018, where the motivation of female students is better than the motivation of male study

Abstract

The happiness of children and teenager is an inseparable part of family happiness. Family is one of the factors in the determinant of children and teenager. Children living in families experiencing domestic violence are at high risk for mental health problems, such as depression and life failure. This study aims to describe the subjective well being of children victims of domestic violence based on two aspects, namely aspects of life satisfaction and aspects of affection (positive and negative experiences). This study uses a descriptive approach with a sample of 53 students with the characteristics of adolescents who are violent in the household. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling and the data collection tool uses a subjective well being scale. The results of the study revealed that the subjective well being of children victims of domestic violence was low with a percentage of 49.06%, while in the medium category with a percentage of 35.85%, high category 13.21%, and very low category 1.89%. The implication of this research is the basis for guidance and counseling teachers to improve the subjective well-being of students in schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of student who have a concentration of learning in the low category. One of the factors that is thought to influence is the condition of the school environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the concentration of students learning, the condition of the school environment, and test a significant positive relationship between the condition of the school environment and the concentration of students learning. The population of the study was 1264 students of Nine Public Vocational School in Padang who were enrolled in the July-December semester of the 2019/2020 academic year and a sample of 330 students was selected by Stratified Random Sampling. The instrument used is the Learning Concentration questionnaire with a reliability of 0.921 and the School Environment Condition questionnaire with a reliabilty of 0.877. Data were analyzed by descriptive techniques and Pearson Product Moment. The research findings are: the concentration of students learning in the medium category, the conditions of the school envinronment in the quite good category, and there is a significant positive relationship between the condition of the school environment and the concentration of learning students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low self-confidence of middle school students. Self-confidence is a positive attitude of individuals to develop positive assessments, both towards themselves and the environment / situation being faced. One of the factors suspected to affect the sel confidanace is physical Self-concept. This study aims to (1) describe student confidence, (2) describe students' physical self-concepts, and (3) test whether there is a significant positive relationship between physical self-concept and student self-confidence. This research uses quantitative methods with correlational descriptive analysis. The study population is 313 students Junior High School  2 Ampek Angkek registered in July-December  of periode  academic 2019/2020 and a sample of 174 students were selected by stratified random sampling.The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive formulas and product moment correlation formulas. The research findings reveal that (1) students' self-confidence is generally in the high enough category, (2) students' physical self-concept is generally in the good category, and (3) significant positive relationship between physical self-concept and students' self-confidence with coefficients correlation of 0.431 and a significance level of 0.000.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe male students’s career decision making, (2) describe female students’s career decision making, and (3) examine differences in career decision making of Senior High School’s student by gender. This study uses a comparative descriptive analysis. The  population in this study were all students of class X, XI, and XII SMA and the amount of samples was 134 students taken using census techniques (non probability sampling). This study uses two data analysis techniques, descriptive analysis and different tests. Descriptive analysis is using the percentage formula. While differences analysis uses the independent samples t test formula and the calculation is assisted by using the SPSS version 20 for windows. The result of the study showed (1) the level of career decision making for male students are in good category, (2) the level of career decision making for female students are in good category, and (3) there was significant difference in career decision making of students’s career decision making base on gender with a correlation coeficient of 0,736 and a significance level of 0,021.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the teaching methods of teachers and describe students' interest in learning and examine the relationship between students' perceptions of the teaching methods of teachers with student learning interests. This research is a quantitative research with correlational descriptive research type. The research variables consist of two, namely: students' perceptions of the teaching methods of teachers (X) are independent variables and interest in learning (Y) are dependent variables. The study population was all students of SMPN 3 Sungai Geringging Pariaman in the 2018/2019 school year with a sampling technique using proportional stratified random sampling. The type of data used in this study is interval data with primary data sources. The instrument used in this study was in the form of scale. The shape of the scale used is the Likert scale model. The results found that the average teaching method of teachers in general was in the medium category, and most students at SMPN 3 Sungai Geringging had an interest in learning in the medium category. The average student learning interest in general is also in the quite good category, and the teaching methods of teachers at Sungai Geringging 3 Junior High School are quite good. The better the condition of the school environment, the higher the concentration of student learning, and vice versa the less good the condition of the school environment, the lower the concentration of student learning.

Abstract

The background of this research the number of students who have an attitude of juvenile delinquency is on the low category, attitude is the tendency level that is positive or negative relating to the object of psychology. One of the factors suspected to affect the attitude is attention parents. This study aims to: (1) describe the student’s attitudes toward juvenile delinquency, (2) describe the attention parents, and (3) test a significant positive relationship between attention parents with student’s attitudes toward juvenile delinquency.This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive correlational. The study population is 728 students Junior High School  25 Padang registered in July-December  of periode  academic 2019/2020 and a sample of 238 students were selected by stratified random sampling. The instrument used was a questionaire the attention  parents with reliability 0.097 and questionnaires student’s attitudes toward juvenile delinquency with the reliability of 0.862. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment technique.The findings show that: (1) attention parents are in good enough category, (2) students' attitudes toward juvenile delinquency are in the good category, (3) and there is a significant positive relationship between attention  parental attitudes toward juvenile delinquency with a correlation coefficient of 0.234 and a significance level of 0.000.

Abstract

The background of this research is because students' perceptions of juvenile delinquency are not good, so there are still many students who commit juvenile delinquency. One of the factors that influence students' perceptions of juvenile delinquency is family harmony. This study aims to analyze: (1) students' perceptions of juvenile delinquency, (2) adolescent family harmony, (3) examine and analyze the relationship between family harmony and student perceptions of juvenile delinquency. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational type. The population of this study was 601 students enrolled at SMAN 1 Koto Balingka with a sample of 240 students which was determined by stratified random sampling technique. The instruments used were "family harmony checklist" and "student perception checklist about juvenile delinquency". The findings in this study show that: (1) family harmony is in the high category, (2) students' perceptions of juvenile delinquency are in the good category, (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between family harmony and students' perceptions of juvenile delinquency with correlation coefficient of 0.641 and a significant value of 0.000. Implications for Guidance and Counseling can be done by providing information services, individual counseling and group guidance.

Abstract

Post-pandemic conditions or also called new normal or other names that lead to the same meaning, in this condition personally, in groups, and organizations, some are adapting life processes, restarting everything that has been stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic, direct interaction is replaced by interaction via the internet network, using a supporting platform, direct classroom learning is replaced by learning with virtual classes, ordering food through various applications, up to strict restrictions on mobility, this process occurs over a long period of time, Habits and behavior carried out by the digital native generation, has an effect on personal development academically and morally, when personally a person does routine things continuously, or is met with the same conditions many times, then indirectly a steady flow will be formed, regardless of whether it is negative or positive normally. Initiative is needed to increase motivation and learning outcomes. Initiative, independence, and responsibility in students will enable them to recognize opportunities, overcome obstacles, anticipate difficulties, and act appropriately and consistently.
