Abstract

Islamic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and spiritual intelligence of students. Through Islamic learning strategies, students are not only provided with religious knowledge but also guided to develop moral, ethical, and spiritual values in their lives. This article discusses the influence of Islamic education on the development of spiritual intelligence, the role of educators, and the challenges and implications of its implementation. The research findings show that Islamic education significantly contributes to the formation of disciplined, honest, responsible, and empathetic individuals. Although there are some challenges in the implementation of this strategy, such as limited resources and resistance to religion-based approaches, Islamic learning strategies can have a significant positive impact on the moral and spiritual development of students. Islamic education also has positive implications in students' social relationships and the development of environmental awareness.

Abstract

Learning strategies play a vital role in determining the success of the educational process, particularly in achieving learning objectives effectively and efficiently. This article aims to comprehensively examine fundamental concepts of learning strategies by addressing five main research questions: (1) what is the definition of learning strategies? (2) how are models, approaches, strategies, methods, and techniques of learning interrelated? (3) what are the classifications of learning strategies? (4) what are the essential components of a learning strategy? and (5) what considerations are important in selecting an appropriate learning strategy? Using a descriptive-qualitative approach, this article draws upon various educational literature, both classical and contemporary, to formulate a comprehensive understanding of learning strategies. The discussion on the definition highlights that a strategy is not merely a technical step but also a pedagogical framework that reflects a systematic way of thinking. Furthermore, this article emphasizes the importance of understanding the interconnectedness of learning models (conceptual frameworks), approaches (philosophical orientations), strategies (overall plans), methods (procedural steps), and techniques (practical actions) in order for educators to design cohesive and holistic learning processes. The classification of learning strategies is discussed based on the learning approach used, such as expository, inquiry-based, cooperative, contextual, and problem-based strategies—each with its own advantages and challenges. The article also identifies key components of learning strategies, including learning objectives, student characteristics, materials, media, methods, and evaluation. In choosing the appropriate strategy, the author highlights the need to consider factors such as learning goals, learner characteristics, available resources, and the socio-cultural context of the learning environment, particularly within the framework of Islamic education. The findings of this study are expected to contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of more contextual, adaptive, and relevant learning designs, especially for educators and prospective teachers within Islamic State Universities.

Abstract

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered instructional strategy that begins with authentic problems as the starting point for learning. This approach encourages students to actively identify, analyze, and solve problems through a systematic and collaborative scientific thinking process. By integrating real-life situations relevant to students’ experiences, PBL not only enhances critical thinking skills but also develops problem-solving abilities, communication, and teamwork. The implementation of problem-based learning among secondary school students demonstrates a significant improvement in critical thinking compared to conventional, more passive teaching methods. Furthermore, this learning strategy fosters independent and creative learning attitudes and helps students connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications in their environment. Therefore, problem-based learning serves as an effective approach to prepare students for the complex and rapidly changing challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

The concepts of learning and instruction are central to the educational process and continue to evolve in response to changes in society and technology. In the modern context, the shift from teacher-centered to student-centered paradigms demands a more comprehensive understanding of both concepts. This study aims to analyze the essence of learning and instruction from various theoretical perspectives and evaluate their relevance to current educational practices. The research employs a library research method, examining relevant scholarly literature including books, journals, and academic documents. The findings indicate that a proper understanding of learning and instruction significantly influences the teaching strategies applied by educators and contributes to the development of independent and adaptive learners. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for designing more contextual and responsive instructional approaches in today’s educational landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of storytelling in Islamic education as a method to cultivate noble character in early childhood. Storytelling is an effective approach to convey moral values and Islamic ethics through stories that touch children's emotions and imagination. The research method used is a literature review, which involves collecting, analyzing, and studying various literature related to Islamic education, children's character, and the application of storytelling in the context of religious education. The findings indicate that storytelling not only helps children understand moral values but also enhances empathy, religious awareness, and the formation of positive habits that are sustainable. This study also emphasizes the importance of the role of teachers and the environment in supporting the internalization of moral values in children. Overall, storytelling can be an effective method in early childhood moral education, with significant contributions to the formation of Islamic character.

Abstract

The inquiry learning strategy is a pedagogical approach that positions students as active agents in the process of seeking and discovering knowledge. This paper explores the definition, characteristics, underlying principles, advantages, limitations, and implementation stages of the inquiry strategy in learning processes. Rooted in constructivist theory, it emphasizes the value of direct experience and critical thinking in constructing understanding. The analysis reveals that inquiry-based learning enhances students’ critical thinking skills, independence, active participation, motivation, and self-confidence. However, successful implementation requires teachers to be well-prepared in designing meaningful and adaptable instruction. This article recommends applying the inquiry strategy selectively and contextually, especially within Islamic Religious Education, to foster reflective reasoning and character development among students.

Abstract

The development of technology and the need for innovative education require the application of learning methods that can enhance active participation and student independence. One of the approaches gaining popularity is Project-Based Learning (PjBL). In the context of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) at Junior High School (SMP), the implementation of PjBL has significant potential to improve students' understanding of religious material while simultaneously developing social, critical, and creative skills. This study aims to examine the implementation of project-based learning in PAI at SMP, identify the challenges faced, and assess its impact on students' motivation and independence in learning. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document study across several SMPs in Indonesia. The results indicate that applying PjBL can increase student activity, deepen understanding of Islamic values, and foster positive character traits such as discipline and responsibility. The main obstacles encountered include resource limitations, time management issues, and teachers’ readiness in designing relevant and engaging projects. Therefore, continuous training and support from schools and government are essential to optimize and sustain the implementation of this method in PAI learning. Perkembangan teknologi dan kebutuhan pendidikan yang inovatif menuntut penerapan metode pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif dan kemandirian siswa. Salah satu pendekatan yang sedang berkembang dan banyak digunakan adalah model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning/PjBL). Dalam konteks pendidikan agama Islam (PAI) di Sekolah Menengah Pertama, penerapan PjBL memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi keagamaan sekaligus mengembangkan keterampilan sosial, kritis, dan kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam PAI di SMP, mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi, serta menilai dampaknya terhadap motivasi dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi di beberapa SMP di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PjBL mampu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa, memperdalam pemahaman terhadap nilai-nilai keislaman, serta membangun karakter positif seperti disiplin dan tanggung jawab. Kendala utama yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan sumber daya, manajemen waktu, dan kesiapan guru dalam merancang proyek yang relevan dan menarik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pelatihan berkelanjutan dan dukungan dari pihak sekolah serta pemerintah agar metode ini dapat diimplementasikan secara optimal dan berkelanjutan dalam pembelajaran PAI.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to improve student’s ability to solve problems in the learning process. This study discusses a problem-based learning strategy that places students as the center of learning with a focus on solving real problems. This strategy encourages students to learn independently, discuss, and think critically in finding solutions to problems relevant to everyday life. Through this strategy, students not only gain knowledge, but also develop problem-solving skills and have independent learning abilities that are important for facing challenges in the learning process. Data collection was carried out through literature studies from textbooks, scientific journals, articles, and other publications. The results show that the application of problem-based learning strategies is effective in improving students' ability to solve problems in the learning process. Keywords: Learning Strategy, Problems, Learning. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik memecahkan masalah dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini membahas strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang menempatkan peserta didik sebagai pusat pembelajaran dengan fokus pada penyelesaian masalah nyata. Strategi ini mendorong peserta didik untuk belajar secara mandiri, berdiskusi, dan berpikir kritis dalam mencari solusi terhadap permasalahan yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui strategi ini, peserta didik tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan, tetapi juga mengembangkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan memiliki kemampuan belajar mandiri yang penting untuk menghadapi tantangan dalam proses pembelajaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi literatur dari sumber buku pelajaran, jurnal ilmiah, artikel, dan publikasi lainnya. Hasilnya menunjukkan penerapan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah dalam proses pembelajaran. Abstract

This article discusses the Direct Instruction strategy, a teacher-centered learning approach that emphasizes systematic and structured delivery of material. The purpose of this study is to address the following research questions: (1) What is meant by direct instruction strategy? (2) What are the characteristics of the direct instruction strategy? (3) What are its strengths and weaknesses? and (4) How is the direct instruction strategy applied in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects? This article uses a library research method by examining various relevant theoretical sources. The findings indicate that direct instruction is an effective approach for delivering factual and procedural knowledge, particularly when learning objectives focus on mastering basic skills and understanding concepts in stages. This strategy is characterized by clear teacher guidance, structured learning steps, and continuous assessment. Its advantages include time efficiency and ease of classroom control, while its drawbacks involve limited student participation and less development of critical thinking skills. In the context of PAI learning, this strategy can be effectively applied to memorization materials, basic conceptual understanding, and character formation through concrete examples and teacher modeling.

Abstract

The moral crisis experienced by Generation Z in the digital era is a major challenge triggered by globalization and rapid technological developments. This generation is often influenced by digital culture that can shift important moral values. Education, especially Islamic education, plays a key role in addressing this problem by instilling moral values, digital ethics, and social responsibility. Islamic education can help shape the character of the younger generation by equipping them with strong morality, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate the digital world wisely. Therefore, it is important to integrate moral and spiritual education so that Generation Z can face it with integrity and wisdom. Islamic education that prioritizes the values ​​of faith and ethics has the potential to be the main solution in facing this moral crisis.
