Abstract

Patchouli is one of the most valuable export commodities in Aceh. Patchouli oil must meet several qualifications to obtain export eligibility certification, particularly in terms of its environmental impact, where an in-depth analysis of supply chain transparency is necessary, spanning from seed procurement to distribution and entry into the international market. Despite the large potential for patchouli oil production, industries in Aceh face critical challenges related to supply chain transparency and traceability, which undermine efforts to meet sustainability standards and global market requirements. This study analyzes the transparency of the patchouli oil procurement at the PP NILAS Cooperative and the distribution process through PT Ugreen to the buyer, two key institutions in the local value chain. This study use an exploratory case study approach, combining field observation, purposeful sampling, and semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, including farmers, distillers, intermediaries, exporters, cooperatives, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)s. The study found traceability gaps across several elements of the supply chain, limited documentation practices among smallholders, and challenges in aligning local operations with global certification demands. The study highlights the need for supply chain digitalization, inclusive training, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to strengthen supply chain transparency and support sustainable export growth for the Aceh patchouli industry.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a critical issue for older adults and is closely linked to various health problems. Insufficient or excessive dietary intake can impair the body’s ability to manage physical disorders and diseases, leading to increased weakness in this population. This research aimed to analyze the correlation between nutritional status and frailty in the elderly. This research utilized a cross-sectional design, employing consecutive sampling to gather data from 65 patients in four nursing homes. Participants were elderly individuals over 45 years old, residing in nursing homes, cooperatives, and willing to participate. Sample size determination was performed using G*power 3.1.9.7 software, with a medium effect size of 0.41, a p-value of 0.05, and a power of 0.90. Non-parametric tests were used for data analysis, employing the MNA-SF and Frailty Index Questionnaire-40 (FI-40) instruments. The average age of participants was 75.92 (+9.45) years, with the majority of the sample being elderly, and women constituted 80% of all participants. There was a significant correlation between nutritional status and frailty (p=0.005 <0.05), with a moderate negative relationship (r=-0.344). This research concluded that the better the nutritional status, the lower the frailty level. This research indicated that better nutritional status was linked to reduced frailty in the elderly, highlighting the need for healthcare teams to implement strategies that enhance patient adherence in managing factors that negatively affect nutrition.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of transformational leadership on innovative work behavior in higher education institutions, examining the mediating roles of knowledge sharing and motivation to learn. Data were collected from 150 full-time lecturers in public and private universities in Padang, Indonesia. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The findings reveal that transformational leadership positively influences innovative work behavior directly and indirectly through knowledge sharing, confirming a partial mediation effect. However, motivation to learn does not significantly mediate this relationship, indicating its intrinsically driven nature. The study confirms the importance of leadership style and collaborative culture in fostering innovation among academic staff. Theoretically, the research enriches the understanding of psychological and social mechanisms linking leadership to innovation, particularly in the unique context of higher education. Practically, it offers insights for university leaders to cultivate a supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and intrinsic learning motivation, which are essential for sustaining innovation in academic settings.

Abstract

Abstract

Polygamy remains a controversial practice in Islamic society in Indonesia, especially when linked to the principles of justice and gender equality. Although Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974 and a number of other regulations have restricted polygamy through administrative and substantive requirements, practices in the field show weak control and numerous procedural violations. This gap between legal norms and social practices demonstrates the failure of the law to provide protection, especially for women. This study aims to analyze the regulation of polygamy in Indonesia from the perspective of Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid's thinking, which emphasizes the importance of maqashid al-syariah as the basis for the validity of Islamic law. This study is a normative legal study with a qualitative approach, through a documentary study of legislation, legal literature, and the thoughts of modern Islamic legal figures. The results of the study show that the regulation of polygamy in Indonesia has not fully integrated the principle of maqashid, both in the substance of the law and in its implementation in court. Legal provisions tend to be legal-formal in nature without addressing the ethical, social, and psychological dimensions of the practice of polygamy. Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid's thinking emphasizes that the permissibility of polygamy must depend on substantive justice, not merely procedural validity. This view offers a critical framework for reforming Islamic family law to be more contextual, responsive, and just. It is important to reform regulations to ensure that the law truly serves as an instrument of protection, not merely a means of legitimizing social inequality.

Abstract

This study explores the aesthetic and rhetorical dimensions of the Qur’anic discourse through an in-depth stylistic analysis of the repetitive phrase “waylun yauma’iżin lil-mukażżibīn” in Surah Al-Mursalat. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and a linguistic-stylistic tafsīr approach, the research draws upon six stylistic frameworks, repetition (tikrār), structural placement, phonostylistics, semantic variation, sound patterning, and rhetorical function. The findings reveal that the recurrence of this verse transcends mere rhetorical ornamentation; it serves as a theological and emotional reinforcement of divine warnings directed toward those who reject the truth. Each repetition emerges within distinct contextual frames, yet collectively constructs a cohesive structure of moral and spiritual resonance. Moreover, the rhythmic articulation of the verse enhances both its phonetic harmony and aesthetic power, illustrating the Qur’an’s capacity to intertwine linguistic artistry with spiritual depth. Conclusively, this research demonstrates that the Qur’anic language embodies an integrated system of meaning and beauty, where style becomes substance, and underscores the need for more advanced stylistic inquiry into the linguistic and spiritual dimensions of the Qur’an.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of technology has ushered in significant transformations across various facets of life, where gadgets have emerged as indispensable tools for individuals spanning all age groups, including parents, adults, and even the youngest members of society. However, akin to other technological innovations, gadgets bring with them a dual-edged sword, offering both advantages and disadvantages. Unrestricted and unsupervised gadget usage can potentially exert detrimental effects on the growth and development of children. The ubiquitous accessibility and enticing features often entrap many children in addictive cycles of gadget engagement. Failure to address this issue can cast a shadow on a child's holistic maturation and overall development. In this context, the role of parents assumes paramount importance as they navigate their children's interaction with gadgets. It is incumbent upon parents to adopt a vigilant stance, actively participating in, supervising, and delineating clear boundaries for gadget utilization. These strategies represent the arsenal available to parents as they undertake the vital task of educating their children and proactively combatting the specter of gadget addiction.
