Abstract

Abstract

This article reviews the Islamic view of how the universe was created, both from a theological and philosophical perspective. Using qualitative research methods and literature study, the author analyzes verses in the Qur’an related to the formation of the universe as well as philosophical thoughts of Muslim figures such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Ibn Maskawaih. In the Islamic context, the creation of the universe is understood as evidence of God’s greatness exercised gradually and fully in wisdom. The philosophers’ concept of emanation also provides important insights into understanding the interaction between God and created beings. The article also emphasizes the relationship between science and the Quran in explaining the origin of the universe as well as encouraging the merger between revelation and rationality in scientific research. The results of this article show that Islam not only affirms a spiritual understanding of the universe, but also provides a space for scientific study regarding God’s creation.

Abstract

Cranial nerves are an integral part of the peripheral nervous system, playing a crucial role in transmitting afferent and efferent nerve impulses, particularly in the head and neck area. Unlike spinal nerves, cranial nerves have distinct functional nuclei in the brainstem, grouped into sensory (posterior and lateral) and motor (anterior) nuclei. The optic nerve is a purely afferent (sensory) nerve, responsible for transmitting visual information from rod and cone receptors in the retina to the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) and superior colliculus (SC) in the thalamus. The optic nerve's innervation pathway begins with retinal ganglion cells, which form nerve fibers, pass through the optic canal, and then cross at the optic chiasm. Disruption of this pathway can lead to various clinical manifestations, such as vision loss or visual field impairment, which will be discussed further. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the anatomy and function of the optic nerve is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of neuro-ophthalmological conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine item characteristics based on item response theory and identify cheating during the administration of the National Standardised School Examination (USBN) for Islamic religious education at the senior high school level in the 2015/2016 school year in Yogyakarta. The data source consists of 2929 answer sheets from USBN participants in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) under Package A of the KTSP curriculum. Using a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, the analysis uses item response theory for item characteristics and person fit and test acceptance methods for identifying cheating. The results show that the PAI USBN test instrument for the 2015/2016 academic year has a moderate average level of difficulty, with a good information function. The Test Acceptance method, which identified 153 cases of knowledge sharing, 891 cases of ignorance sharing and 222 cases of response sharing, proved to be more effective in detecting cheating than the Person Fit method, which identified 2 individuals.

Abstract

The continuous development of information technology is one of its best features. The steady trend in the rapid advancement of information technology has created a necessity for institutions to adapt in order to remain competitive in this era. Considering the large number of website users in Indonesia, it is evident that the quality of websites as a medium for disseminating information is crucial. This research measures the quality of the e-learning website at PT XYZ using the Modified Webqual and Importance Performance Analysis methods. The Modified Webqual method is an extension of the Webqual 4.0 method, used to measure website quality based on four components: Usability Quality, Information Quality, Interaction Quality, and Privacy and Security. Meanwhile, Importance Performance Analysis is used to measure user satisfaction based on expectations of website quality. Data was collected through questionnaires and then subjected to validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, and gap analysis between user perceptions and expectations. Subsequently, the data was categorized using the Importance Performance Analysis method. The final results indicated that the e-learning website at PT XYZ has not yet met user expectations, as indicated by the gap analysis with a value 0, meaning that user importance or expectations are still higher than the website's performance. This research is part of a collection of articles and papers on the evaluation of the quality of various online platforms, including e-learning websites, and the research methods used are evaluative and quantitative in nature

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the poverty rate in three provinces on the island of Sumatra, namely Aceh, Bengkulu, and Lampung. Against the backdrop of the huge challenges that the three provinces face in terms of infrastructure, employment opportunities, and the quality of public services, this study focuses on the influence of variables such as unemployment, inflation, income inequality, and the Human Development Index (HDI) on the poverty rate. Using the multiple linear regression analysis method, this study evaluates data from the period 1999 to 2023. The results show that the unemployment rate has a significant positive effect on the poverty rate, while inflation and income inequality have a negative impact. HDI also shows a significant effect in reducing the poverty rate. By finding the interaction between these factors, the research is expected to provide recommendations for more inclusive and sustainable development policies to improve people's welfare in the three provinces.
