Abstract

Violence against women is a complex health problem that can affect their lives and even those around them. Cases of violence against women have an impact on physical, psychological/mental, reproductive, and economic health and even have an effect on the health of children who are cared for by the mothers of victims of violence. Violence against women requires the active role of professional health workers, especially midwives, in conducting screening, approach and support, following up on collaborations/referrals, In addition, midwives must also develop themselves through special learning or training so that they are able to provide education to increase awareness. This study aimed to explore the management of midwifery implementation regarding violence against women. The method used in this literature review study is based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) checklist. Searches were conducted from PubMed, Science Direct, and Sage Journals to identify articles published between January 1, 2020, and May 1, 2024 with the keywords “violence against women, intimate partner violence, midwifery care of violence, health care of violence”. The results of the review from 703 journals obtained 9 relevant journals regarding the management of midwifery implementation including early detection through routine screening, training and education for midwives, collaboration/referral with various other sectors, empowering women, documentation, and evaluation.

Abstract

This literature review explores the interplay of strengths, positive emotions, and critical thinking within the counseling practice. This literature review used a methodical approach that included a thorough search strategy in order to find and choose peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last ten years that focused on the interaction between strengths, positive emotions, and critical thinking in the counseling practice. Guided by a strengths-based approach, the review investigates how fostering positive emotions, including as appreciation, pleasure, and hope, might assist the discovery and application of client strengths. This review focused on empirical research articles, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, that specifically examined the interaction between the three core constructs within the counseling context, excluding dissertations, theses, and studies focusing solely on one construct, while employing a systematic data extraction process with inter-rater reliability checks, followed by rigorous thematic analysis of the collected data. The review also explores the critical thinking abilities that are most important for enhancing the effectiveness of strengths-based therapies, including analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving.The review concludes by examining methods for incorporating critical thinking into the counseling process, such as Socratic questioning, reflective exercises, and cooperative goal planning. The results point to a synergistic interaction between critical thinking, positive emotions, and strengths that has a great deal of potential to improve client outcomes. The review does, however, also stress the significance of a well-rounded strategy that recognizes and deals with both happy and negative emotions during the counseling process.

Abstract

The psychological guidance model plays a role in developing students' character and tolerance towards diversity in culture, religion, and social background. This approach is supported by Gordon Allport's trait theory and social interaction model that emphasizes learning through empirical experience to create an inclusive educational environment. This research aims to analyze the application of empiricism philosophy as the foundation of Gordon Allport's trait theory in the psychological guidance model. The method used is a qualitative literature study with content analysis of the literature. The results showed that: (1) Locke's tabula rasa and Hume's bundle of perceptions empiricism philosophy asserts that knowledge and personality are formed through empirical experience; (2) experiential-based interventions are effective in developing students' empathy and tolerance; (3) The integration of empiricism philosophy into the psychological guidance model results in a structured and evidence-based approach that is adaptive to individual needs in the context of inclusive education. (4) The psychological guidance model based on the philosophy of empiricism produces a scientific model with practical implications for the development of tolerance.
