Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between mentorship and growth mindset among interns, with intrinsic motivation and work engagement as mediating variables. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational explanatory design, data were collected from university students participating in internship programs through a Likert-scale questionnaire adapted from standardized instruments measuring mentorship, intrinsic motivation, work engagement, and growth mindset. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The results indicated that mentorship had a positive and significant effect on the growth mindset of interns. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation and work engagement were found to partially mediate this relationship, implying that effective mentor support should be complemented by internal motivation and active involvement from students to optimize the development of a growth mindset. These findings highlight the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions and internship programs in developing comprehensive mentoring systems. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on educational and organizational psychology, while practically offering insights for designing internship programs that foster adaptive, resilient, and motivated future professionals.

Abstract

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period represent natural experiences for women, with physical and psychological changes occurring during these phases. During pregnancy, there are hormonal fluctuations that can affect the mother's mood and emotions. Therefore, psychological support is needed for pregnant women because it can prevent complications during labor and postpartum. To prevent these conditions, complementary therapies are needed, such as Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) as a holistic midwifery care for the physical and emotional health of the mother. The focus of this study was to evaluate the benefits of SEFT therapy in the care of pregnant women during pregnancy, during labor, and postpartum period. The research methodology utilized a systematic literature review sourced from various databases including ProQuest, PubMed, Oxford, SCOPUS, ScienceDirect, SAGE Journal, and Google Scholar. The PRISMA protocol guided data extraction and categorization. Results Ten relevant articles identified that SEFT therapy contributes to improving maternal well-being and cardiovascular health during pregnancy. In addition, the therapy has been shown to reduce anxiety among pregnant, pre-cesarean section, and laboring mothers, and has demonstrated efficacy in reducing post-cesarean section pain and improving postpartum maternal sleep.

Abstract

Career planning is an important aspect in the career development process because it will have an impact on the student's future. It is hoped that the existence of Vocational High Schools (SMK) will be a step for the government and schools in providing students who are ready to work. Vocational School is a vocational education institution that has an important role in developing the quality of graduates who are ready to work and respond to the needs and developments of the times. The high unemployment rate in the 15–19-year age group nationally emphasizes that junior high school and high school/vocational school levels are important age phases in formulating future careers. The aim of this research is to determine students' readiness in career planning at Bengkulu Vocational School. The method used is survey research. The instrument developed was an inventory which, using data collection techniques, was distributed to 124 vocational school students via Google Form, which was then analyzed using Rasch modeling. Based on the data obtained, overall self-readiness in career planning for vocational school students is in the high category at 19%, in the medium category at 67%, and in the low category at 14%. Thus, it can be concluded that vocational school students in Bengkulu have not prepared themselves optimally in good career planning. Based on the findings, appropriate management of student career development in schools is needed. So it will have an impact on students' career maturity. A student's career is not only limited to a choice of job and work, but how students can manage and formulate career plans well so as to achieve career success in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the career readiness of vocational school students in Bengkulu and examines how secondary cultural values, particularly the Serawai tribe’s Sekundang Setungguan philosophy, can inform effective career guidance frameworks. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive methodology with a survey approach, data were collected from 347 students across grades X, XI, and XII through a Career Readiness Inventory distributed via Google Forms. The inventory's validity and reliability were tested using the Rasch model with Winstep software, resulting in 37 valid items out of 42. Findings indicate weak career readiness among students in key areas such as career exploration, decision-making, job information access, and occupational knowledge. Gender analysis reveals higher readiness levels among female students, while the Serawai ethnic group outperforms others in career preparedness. Factors influencing career planning include parental aspirations, limited guidance, and cultural diversity. The study underscores the importance of fostering career awareness early, incorporating cultural strengths into guidance programs. The Serawai values of cooperation, resilience, and mutual support provide a foundation for cultivating responsibility, empathy, and perseverance among students. These cultural frameworks can address career uncertainties and enhance readiness through collaborative efforts involving families, schools, and communities. By leveraging cultural values and fostering robust support systems, vocational students are better equipped to navigate challenges and seize opportunities, contributing to societal growth. The findings highlight the significance of culturally informed guidance to prepare students for the complexities of the modern workforce.

Abstract

Peumulia Jamee is one of the local wisdoms of the Acehnese people, which means respect and acceptance of guests. This tradition has strong cultural roots and religious values, making it an important social practice in forming relationships between individuals in Acehnese society. The goal of this study is to investigate how the Acehnese people perceive the Peumulia Jamee culture and how they implement its values in their daily lives. This study used a phenomenological approach to explore the experiences and views of the community regarding the Peumulia Jamee practice. We collected data through in-depth, semi-structured interviews conducted face-to-face with five informants who possess a deep understanding of Acehnese customs and traditions. Interviews were conducted with a semi-structured guide, allowing informants to express their views freely and in detail regarding the values of Peumulia Jamee. The data analysis revealed three main clusters, along with several emerging ones: (1) the basis and values of Peumulia Jamee culture, which encompasses beliefs from Islamic teachings, customs, and history as the foundation of culture; (2) practices and forms of honoring guests, which includes the themes of forms of honoring guests, honoring guests, and guest classification; and (3) ethics and social behavior, which includes the themes of ethics, verbal behavior, body part behavior, and manners. The results of this study are expected to provide deeper insight into the Peumulia Jamee tradition in forming a counseling approach based on local wisdom in Aceh, Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of teacher involvement on elementary school students' boredom and its implications for guidance and counseling practices in schools. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, data were collected from 454 elementary school students in Bandung City who completed questionnaires on teacher engagement and boredom levels. The results of the analysis showed that teacher engagement, especially on the emotional aspect, has a negative influence on student boredom, i.e. the higher the teacher engagement, the lower the student boredom. This finding highlights the importance of the teacher's role in creating an active and interactive learning atmosphere to reduce student boredom. The practical implication is that school counselors can support teachers by providing training to strengthen emotional and cognitive engagement and encourage the development of students' social skills to create a conducive and enjoyable learning environment. This study recommends further research to explore other factors that influence student boredom and to examine the influence of teacher engagement in different educational contexts.
