Abstract

The Scriven evaluation model consists of formative and summative evaluations. In this study, the Scriven model was employed to examine differences in the implementation of the learning process in the IPAS-based Thematic Learning course that applied the flipped classroom model and those that did not, as well as to describe the comparative results of formative and summative evaluations in the course. This research adopted a comparative case study approach involving 75 students from the Elementary School Teacher Education Program at the University of Mataram. The formative evaluation results in the class implementing the flipped classroom within IPAS-based thematic learning demonstrated relatively stable average scores and mastery percentages, with only a 1% difference in mastery at the fourth formative assessment, while the first through third formative assessments showed the same average mastery rate of 20%, indicating that the application of the flipped classroom was able to maintain consistency in learning outcomes and ensure continuous mastery of IPAS content. In contrast, the IPAS-based thematic learning class that did not implement the flipped classroom exhibited considerable fluctuations in formative evaluation results, with average scores and mastery levels of 80.5 and 21% in the first formative assessment, 88.8 and 23% in the second, 78 and 20% in the third, and the lowest average score of 64.76 with a mastery level of 16% in the fourth formative assessment. These disparities in formative outcomes subsequently affected the summative evaluation results, in which the average summative score of the class implementing the flipped classroom in IPAS-based thematic learning was higher than that of the class without the flipped classroom, at 82.243 compared to 78.594, with a difference of 3.649. These findings indicate that the implementation of the flipped classroom contributes positively to the stability of the learning process and to the learning outcomes of prospective elementary school teachers.

Abstract

The success of mathematics learning is not only influenced by the quality of classroom learning, but also by factors outside the classroom, such as the intensity of home learning and student learning motivation. However, most sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Merembu showed low home learning intensity and lack of motivation to learn mathematics. This study aims to determine the effect of home learning intensity and learning motivation on the mathematics learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Merembu. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive statistical research. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 26.0. The data used were from questionnaire results and student mathematics test scores. The results showed that home learning intensity and learning motivation did not significantly influence students' mathematics learning outcomes. This is indicated by a probability value of 0.172 > 0.05. This finding indicates that these two variables have not made a significant contribution to mathematics learning outcomes. This condition is thought to be influenced by other factors, namely teacher learning methods, students' basic mathematical abilities, a less conducive home learning environment, and limited guidance from parents. Therefore, schools and teachers need to implement more innovative learning strategies and increase cooperation with parents.

Abstract

Moral and religious development in early childhood is a fundamental phase that is highly susceptible to environmental influences. This research was motivated by the discovery of verbal aggression in the form of abusive language among early childhood students at State Kindergarten 12, East Praya. This study used Research and Development (R&D) methods to develop finger puppets as an intervention tool to reduce verbally aggressive behavior while enhancing children's moral development. The results showed that the root causes of abusive language were influenced by overly indulgent parenting, being the youngest child, and imitation of interactions with older children. The impact of this behavior disrupted social relationships, triggered imitation, and created a negative environmental climate. Responsive actions from teachers through humane reprimands, advice, reinforcement of classroom rules, and collaboration with parents proved crucial. The innovative use of finger puppets with three contrasting emotional expressions within a single character, along with role-playing methods, can facilitate children's emotional recognition, internalization of politeness values, and positive socio-emotional regulation of their behavior.
