Abstract

Sound is a longitudinal wave that propagates through a medium (solid, liquid, or gaseous substance). The height and frequency of the sound is affected by the length of the air column that the waves pass through. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the length of the air column and the frequency of sound through a simple experiment using straws and a glass filled with water. The research method used is descriptive and qualitative experimental methods. Descriptive analysis of experimental data can be used to describe the pattern of relationship between air column length and low noise height. By involving variations in the length of the air column by cutting the straw into several sizes (5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm), and other tools in the form of glasses, scissors, rulers, markers and water. Next, observe changes in sound frequency when blown without water and in water. The results show that the shorter the air column, the higher the frequency of sound (higher pitch) produced, and vice versa. that the length of the air column affects the low altitude of the sound directly.

Abstract

Waves are vibrations of energy that move through something or without something. Depending on what they pass through, waves are divided into two groups, namely transverse waves and longitudinal waves. This study uses an experimental method, which means based on experimental research. Data were collected by observing and recording what happened. The study was conducted at STKIP Al Maksum Langkat. Longitudinal waves on a slinky, the direction of vibration is in the form of particles on the slinky vibrating in the direction of wave propagation. The longitudinal wave pattern forms a pattern of compression and stretching on the slinky. The wave speed on the longitudinal on the slinky is influenced by the elasticity and density of the slinky. Transverse waves on a rope, the direction of vibration is in the form of particles [on the rope vibrating perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation. The transverse wave pattern forms a pattern of hills and valleys on the rope. The speed of transverse waves on the rope is influenced by the elasticity and density of the rope.

Abstract

Marriage is a fundamental social institution for humans, and almost all religious and cultural teachings regulate its implementation carefully. In Islam, marriage is not only seen from an essential perspective, namely to fulfill God's commands, but also from an ethical perspective, namely to respect and protect women's rights. One of the important elements in an Islamic wedding is the dowry, which serves as a sign of sincerity and respect for the bride. However, apart from religious teachings, cultural values and customs also play a significant role in people's lives. For example, in Padang Gelugur sub-district there is a "sinamot" tradition which is similar to the concept of dowry in Islam. This sinamot money is given before the wedding and is intended as a form of respect for the bride. Even though the purpose is similar to dowry, it is different from dowry. From the perspective of Islamic law, it is important to assess whether the sinamot money tradition is in line with the principles set out in Islam. Essentially, both dowry and sinamot money function to show seriousness and commitment to the marriage, as well as to respect and provide guarantees to the bride. In this research the author focuses on two things, namely how sinamot money is practiced and how sinamot money is reviewed in Islamic law. In the research the author used a qualitative method which helped the author analyze people's customary behavior, using a juridical sociological approach. In the research, the author found that the terms of sinamot money were determined by deliberation between the two parties, and in the analysis in Islamic law, it was in accordance with the theory, namely Maqasid Syari'ah.

Abstract

Recently, the urgency of preparing digital ecosystems for rapid change has attracted growing scholarly attention. This study explores how research on Digital Ecosystem Readiness (DER) has developed over the past five years, focusing not only on organizational preparedness but also on broader system-wide dynamics. While earlier studies mostly looked at small-scale details, this paper seeks to identify new trends, themes, and missing areas by reviewing 57 articles published between 2021 and 2025, taken from Scopus and Google Scholar. Using PRISMA guidelines to choose articles, the data were examined with VOSviewer, which created various visual tools like co-occurrence networks and maps showing how authors work together. Key findings show a shift from internal technological adoption toward topics like platform governance, AI integration, and policy-based digital sustainability. Despite growing interest, research on ecosystem-level readiness appears fragmented, with limited cross-national academic collaboration. The study suggests that current models could improve by using a broader approach that includes Technology–Organization–Environment theory, dynamic capability perspectives, and multi-stakeholder governance methods. This integrative view is essential for designing inclusive readiness strategies that reflect the realities of a fast-evolving digital world.

Abstract

This practicum aims to identify and recognize the macronutrient content of carbohydrates, protein, glucose, and fat in various foods commonly consumed daily. This activity utilizes several simple tests using chemical reagents, such as Lugol's solution for carbohydrates, Benedict's solution for glucose, Biuret solution for protein, and oil paper for fat detection. Ten food items were tested, including bananas, bread, tempeh, tofu, eggs, fish, cheese, and green vegetables. Observations showed that each item has a different nutritional content. For example, carbohydrates are found in bananas and bread, protein in tempeh and eggs, glucose in bananas and bread, and fat in cheese and chicken. This practicum not only provides hands-on experience in conducting simple experiments but also serves as an effective learning tool for elementary school science. Through this activity, students can more easily understand the importance of nutritional content in food and practice observation skills and scientific thinking from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative performance of series and parallel electrical circuits through a practical activity using a miniature house as a learning tool for basic science. The practical activity is designed to help students understand basic electrical concepts in a contextual and concrete manner. The tools used in this activity include a small flashlight, batteries, a mini switch, wires, insulation, and supporting materials such as cardboard to design the miniature house. Students build two types of circuits—series and parallel—and then observe the characteristics of each, such as the number of lights lit, the brightness of the light, and the impact of removing one component in the system. The observations indicate that the series circuit has a high degree of interdependence between components, where the failure of one light causes the entire system to shut down. Conversely, the parallel circuit exhibits greater stability, as each light remains lit even if one is removed, providing brighter lighting. This practical demonstrates that the use of a miniature house not only engages students but is also effective in explaining basic electrical concepts through hands-on experience. Therefore, the application of a simple experiment-based learning model like this is recommended to improve students' understanding of basic science, particularly electricity.

Abstract

This practicum aims to understand the process of volcanic eruptions through a simple chemical reaction simulation between baking soda and vinegar. This reaction produces carbon dioxide gas that pushes the mixture out of the bottle, resembling magma eruption from a volcanic crater. The activity was carried out using simple materials such as used plastic bottles, aluminum foil, and common household items. The procedure involved shaping a volcano using aluminum foil around the bottle, then adding baking soda, dish soap, food coloring, and vinegar as the reaction trigger. Observations showed that after the vinegar was poured into the bottle, a foamy red/orange eruption occurred, mimicking lava spewing from a volcanic crater. This simulation demonstrates that the combination of an acid (vinegar) and a base (baking soda) produces carbon dioxide gas, which forces the mixture outward in a dramatic manner. This practicum not only helps students concretely understand scientific concepts but also enhances their observation, critical thinking, and scientific communication skills through simple experimental activities.

Abstract

This practicum aims to identify biotic and abiotic components in an ecosystem , observe the relationships between ecosystem components , and develop skills in creating a simple model of a closed ecosystem. The experiment was conducted by creating a mini ecosystem in a bottle (simple terrarium) using a clear plastic bottle/jar, soil, gravel, moss/small leaves/wild grass, and water. Observations showed that the terrarium ecosystem can function independently with an automatic water cycle occurring through evaporation and condensation. The balance between biotic components (plants as producers) and abiotic components (soil, water, light) is crucial for the system's sustainability. This practicum provides a concrete understanding of interdependency within ecosystems and the importance of maintaining environmental balance.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the concept of mutualistic symbiosis in forest ecosystems for elementary school students as part of environmentally oriented science learning. Students' lack of understanding of the forms of interaction between living things is a problem that requires a solution through a contextual learning approach. This study aims to analyze the improvement in students' understanding of mutualistic symbiosis through a local ecosystem-based approach. The method used was descriptive qualitative, using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, applied to fourth-grade students at SDN 057202 Tanjung Jati. The results showed that students were able to more concretely understand the concept of mutually beneficial relationships between living things after implementing forest ecosystem-based learning around the school. The learning process involving the real environment can increase students' active engagement, curiosity, and ecological awareness. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers utilize local potential in the learning process to bring students closer to applicable and meaningful scientific concepts. Thus, learning not only focuses on cognitive aspects but also develops character and an attitude of environmental concern.
