Abstract

Public opinion on social media is a crucial representation of government policy legitimacy, especially in the fiscal sector. This study intends to provide a comparative investigation of the efficacy of sentiment categorization on YouTube comments pertaining to the activities of the Indonesian Finance Minister by juxtaposing the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with the RoBERTa Transformer model. A total of 3,780 comments were acquired from national digital media channels. The research method involves intensive text preprocessing, including stemming using the Sastrawi algorithm and lexicon-based labeling. The results showed that the SVM algorithm with TF-IDF features achieved an accuracy of 83.33% and an F1-score of 76.05%. In contrast, the RoBERTa model showed a significantly lower performance with an accuracy of 29.76%. This study concludes that for datasets dominated by neutral sentiments and informal language in specific Indonesian contexts, traditional machine learning like SVM with optimal feature engineering remains more reliable and efficient than complex Transformer models that require more extensive fine-tuning.

Abstract

This epidemiological investigation conducted in three regencies of West Sumatra, Indonesia, aimed to examine the molecular prevalence and distribution of Babesia bigemina, Babesia bovis, and Theileria orientalis. A cross-sectional study employing a convenience sampling technique included 151 cattle blood samples. These samples were collected from three regencies (Agam, Limapuluh Kota, and Tanah Datar) between January 2023 and February 2024. Blood samples were examined using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) coupled with sequencing, targeting the cytochrome b gene for B. bigemina and B. bovis, and the 18S rRNA gene for Theileria spp. A total of 151 cattle blood samples from West Sumatra were examined for hemoprotozoan infections using both microscopic and molecular approaches. Based on blood smear examination, 23 (15.2%) and 118 (78.1%) samples were positive for Babesia spp. and Theileria spp., respectively. Subsequent nested PCR analysis confirmed all Babesia-positive samples as B. bigemina, while B. bovis was not detected. In contrast, 131 (86.7%) samples were molecularly identified as T. orientalis. Phylogenetic analysis of the cytochrome b gene revealed three distinct clades of B. bigemina, indicating genetic diversity likely shaped by geographical distribution, vector ecology, or host adaptation. These findings demonstrate that T. orientalis is the predominant hemoprotozoan agent in West Sumatra, while the genetic variability of B. bigemina underscores the complexity of its epidemiology. Together, these results provide critical insights for improving surveillance and guiding the formulation of effective hemoparasite management strategies in the tropical Indonesian archipelago.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of financial technology in the digital era has transformed the financial management patterns of young generations, including their saving activities. Generation Z, as digital natives, has broad access to technology-based financial services; however, this convenience is not always accompanied by disciplined financial behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy on the saving behavior of Generation Z within the context of digital financial service usage. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory design involving 100 respondents aged 17–24 years who already have savings accounts and use digital financial applications. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression after passing validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on saving behavior, with a regression coefficient of 0.62 and an R² value of 0.46. This means that financial literacy explains 46% of the variation in saving behavior, while the remaining proportion is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings affirm that improving financial understanding plays a crucial role in shaping the saving habits of Generation Z in the digital era and serves as a foundation for developing more adaptive and sustainable financial education strategies.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to obtain the most precise pattern of development of bacterial disease (Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria) and determine the relationship between the intensity of bacterial spot disease and yield loss of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.). The research was carried out in Solok Regency at an altitude of 388 m above sea level from June to December 2022. To determine the most appropriate pattern of disease development, two mathematical models were tested: Logistic and Gompertz’s models, which were corrected by Campbell and Madden as well as Neher and Campbell. The yield loss estimation method uses a single disease forecasting system with a single critical time type. The disease was measured at several plant ages according to the growth phase from the base point of 0 DAP, then at ages 26, 31, 36, 41, 46, 51, 56, 61, 66, and 71 days after planting. Variation in disease severity was created by inoculating plants through several inoculum densities. The results showed that the development of Xcv disease follows Gompertz’s model, and the critical time to determine the relationship between disease intensity and yield loss follows the rank regression model with a critical time at plant age of 31 days after planting.

Abstract

Compost is an organic fertilizer produced through the decomposition of plant residues, animal waste, and other organic materials, playing a vital role in enhancing soil fertility, nutrient availability, and microbial activity. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of various compost types on the growth and yield of rice. The experiment was conducted in Nagari Koto Baru, Solok Regency, from July to December 2022, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with six treatments of compost type and four replications: no compost, kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata), rice straw, grass, corn leaf, and cow dung compost. The dose of compost used in all treatments was the same, at 100 g per pot. Composting was carried out for 30 days, utilizing PROMI microorganisms to accelerate decomposition. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that kirinyuh compost produced the best response across all observed parameters, including plant height (76.20 cm), number of leaves (79.80), number of tillers (30.50), nmber of productive tillers (28.00), panicle length (26.00 cm), number of grains per panicle (170.00), weight of 1,000 grains (28.00 g), and grain weight per pot (105.00 g). This yield corresponds to a potential production of 9.45 t.ha-1. These findings highlight Kirinyuh compost as a promising local organic fertilizer capable of sustainably increasing rice productivity while improving soil health.
