Abstract

The proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in higher education has raised growing concerns about students' excessive reliance on AI in completing academic tasks, a phenomenon referred to as AI dependency. No comprehensive bibliometric synthesis on this topic currently exists. This study aimed to map the research landscape of AI dependency in education by identifying publication trends, intellectual structure, and emerging thematic directions. A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 88 articles published between 2023 and 2025, indexed in the Scopus database. Descriptive analysis, keyword co-occurrence networks, co-authorship networks, and thematic mapping were performed using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer. Findings reveal an exponential annual growth rate of 724.62%, with China, France, and Southeast Asian countries dominating research output. Four thematic clusters were identified: Generative AI and Educational Ethics, AI Dependency and Cognitive Impact, Human Factors and Psychology, and Educational Research Methods. Thematic mapping indicates that AI dependency occupies an emerging theme position with near-zero centrality, suggesting the construct remains in early conceptual consolidation. The co-occurrence of self-efficacy and psychological variables points to possible directions for developing standardised theoretical frameworks and evidence-based interventions to support responsible AI use in education.

Abstract

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are one of the essential skills that must be mastered in the 21st century, as they can develop critical thinking skills and support effective daily decision-making. Based on this, problem-solving skills need to be mastered by everyone, including elementary school students. To measure problem-solving skills, we can use the four problem-solving indicators presented by George Polya, namely understanding the problem, devising the plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. In reality, many students have not yet mastered problem-solving skills. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of describing the problem-solving abilities of sixth grade elementary school students. Theresearch method used was descriptive-qualitative. The research subjects were 51 sixth-grade elementary school students. Each research subject completed a problem-solving test on the material of combined flat shapes, which consisted of eight story questions. The questions in this problem-solving test were adjusted to the problem-solving indicators according to George Polya. The results showed that 54.9% of students were able to understand the problem. As for the indicator of devising a plan, only34.3% of students possessed this skill. Then, only 17.6% of students had the skill of carrying out the plan. Last, only 12.7% of students were able to look back at the problem solution.

Abstract

The low level of social ethics among elementary school students, reflected in rude behavior and a lack of respect for teachers and peers, underscores the urgency of instilling social values through a positive school culture. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the 5S Culture (Smile, Greet, Say Hello, Be Polite, and Be Courteous) on the social ethics of elementary school students. The research used a qualitative descriptive method involving 28 fourth-grade students from one public elementary school in Bandung City, Indonesia, where the 5S Culture had been systematically implemented for more than six months. Data were collected through questionnaires, field observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, coding, and interpretation. The findings revealed that approximately 60% of students demonstrated noticeable improvement in social ethics indicators such as politeness, honesty, cooperation, and empathy after the consistent implementation of the 5S Culture. Students became more respectful and responsible in their interactions, particularly toward teachers and senior peers. These results confirm that the 5S Culture effectively strengthens students’ social behavior and supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by fostering inclusive, respectful, and value-based learning environments.

Abstract

The phenomenon of fatherlessness and the limited literature reconstructing the role of fathers in early childhood caregiving thematically represent a serious challenge in early childhood education studies. To date, the role of fathers is often confined to the financial function within the family, namely, as breadwinners. Meanwhile, the role of fatherly caregiving in Islam has received relatively little attention in the academic world. Therefore, this study aims to conceptually reconstruct the role of fathers in early childhood caregiving based on the perspective of the Qur’an and Hadith. The research uses a qualitative approach, drawing on a literature review of Qur’anic verses and Hadiths as primary sources. This study also cites articles from indexed journals, including Scopus and Google Scholar, published during the 2020–2025 period as secondary sources. The study identified three main roles of fathers in early childhood parenting: as a protector both physically and psychologically; as a provider of material needs, emotional support/affection, leisure time for bonding, and assistance when the child needs it; and as an educator in all aspects of the child's life, such as being a role model, a spiritual guide, or an academic instructor at home. The novelty of this research lies in a comprehensive, thematic reconstruction of the role of fatherhood that differs from previous literature, which remains partial. Implicatively, this study offers a comprehensive model of Islamic fatherhood as an alternative to social assumptions about fathers' roles, while also providing a conceptual and practical foundation for early childhood parenting today. This model emphasizes that fathers' involvement is a crucial foundation in shaping a child's identity from an early age. Keywords: conceptual reconstruction, early childhood care, fatherhood, Quran and Hadith

Abstract

This research examines the extent to which resilience predicts the performance of primary school teachers in Indonesia, identifies the major dimensions of resilience, and proposes a structural model for teacher’s’ professional development. This study using quantitative methods and involved 775 primary school teachers from four provinces such as West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and North Sumatra were selected using stratified random sampling approach.  The result of this research inidicated there are resilience significantly predicted teachers performance (β = 0.452, p < 0.001, f² = 1.099) with an R² of 0.524, explaining 52.4% of performance variance. EFA identified three major dimensions of resilience: personal competence (λ = 0.70), social resources (λ = 0.71), and structured style (λ = 0.68). The scores distribution indicated that the majority of teachers on the high range (M_resilience = 4.37; M_performance = 4.38). Interestingly, this is the first study to introduces Teacher Resilience and Performance Integration Model (TRPIM) in Southeast Asia, integrating personal, social, and structural factors within Indonesia’s post-pandemic educational context. Based on the research, researcher recommends concrete policy recommendations, such as incorporating resilience training into mandatory professional programs (PPG/PKB), establishing School Resilience Support Teams, and developing a National Teacher Resilience Index. The methodologically, the research addresses prior limitations by employing a multidimensional PLS-SEM approach with a large sample (N=775). In contrast to previous local research (R² = 0.31), this study provides significant theoretical insights alongside practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the overall quality of primary education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Character education is a foundational pillar in students' moral and social development, particularly at the primary education level. This study examined the role of Sundanese local wisdoms silih asah (mutual enlightenment), silih asih (mutual affection), and silih asuh (mutual care) in shaping students' character across the cognitive, affective, and behavioural dimensions. A qualitative case study design was employed to enable an in-depth exploration of how these values are integrated into the learning ecosystem of a public primary school in Nunuk Baru Village. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted within the school setting. Qualitative data were systematically analyzed using NVivo software to support coding, thematic analysis, and data triangulation. The findings indicate that teacher empathy accounted for 30% of compassion-based interactions, peer support behaviours emerged in 25% of observed incidents, and practices reflecting silih asuh, such as a buddy system, were documented 21 times. In addition, spontaneous acts of care and active participation in extracurricular communal activities reflected the authentic internalization of these values. This study highlights the importance of embedding local wisdom into formal schooling as a sustainable approach to fostering prosocial behaviour and strengthening students' moral resilience amid the challenges of globalization.
