Abstract

Anemia among adolescent girls remains a significant public health concern, impairing growth, learning, productivity, and reproductive health. This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between iron supplement adherence, dietary intake, nutritional status, and anemia among 105 female students aged 12–15 years in Madiun Regency, Indonesia, using a total sampling approach. Data collection included anthropometric measurements, dietary intake assessed with a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), hemoglobin levels measured by point-of-care testing, and iron supplement adherence, with anemia defined as hemoglobin <12 g/dL. The prevalence of anemia was 14.3%. While 88.6% of respondents adhered to iron supplements, non-adherence was associated with a 24.5-fold higher risk of anemia (p < 0.001). Most participants reported inadequate dietary intake, specifically in terms of energy (79.0%), protein (76.2%), zinc (62.9%), and iron (93.3%). Nutritional intake and BMI-based nutritional status showed no significant association with anemia, although non-chronic energy deficiency (non-KEK) was linked to a higher prevalence (p = 0.030). In conclusion, adherence to iron supplementation strongly protects against anemia; however, poor dietary quality remains a challenge. Therefore, strengthening supervised supplementation programs, improving school-based dietary quality, and implementing regular hemoglobin screening are recommended to reduce the risk of anemia among adolescent girls.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between fruit and vegetable intake, physical activity, nutritional status, and social interaction among the academic community at Polkesbaya Corner, a health-promotion facility developed by Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya as part of the “Healthy Campus Initiative.” Polkesbaya Corner serves as a campus-based innovation designed to integrate nutrition education, physical activity, and social engagement, supporting the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-being). A cross-sectional study was conducted among 363 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), 24-hour dietary recall, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), anthropometric measurements, and sociometric observation. A statistical association was observed between social interaction and nutritional status (p = 0.024), whereas fruit and vegetable intake and physical activity were not significantly associated with this outcome. Overall, 52.3% of respondents had normal nutritional status, while 31.7% were overweight. Most participants performed light physical activity (79.3%) and consumed sautéed vegetables (74.1%) and sliced fruits (68.9%). These findings highlight the crucial role of social engagement in promoting healthy behaviors within the campus environment. Therefore, Polkesbaya Corner can serve as a “living laboratory” to foster a culture of health by integrating nutrition education, physical activity, and social participation—supporting the national health promotion agenda and the achievement of SDG 3.

Abstract

This paper examines the intersection of Islam and socialism in Indonesia, focusing on the intellectual lineage from HOS Tjokroaminoto to Agus Salim. Both figures played pivotal roles in shaping Indonesia's political landscape during the early 20th century. Tjokroaminoto, a prominent Islamic scholar and nationalist leader, was instrumental in synthesizing Islamic principles with socialist ideals. His efforts sought to address socio-economic disparities and advocate for the rights of the common people. Agus Salim, a prominent diplomat and intellectual contemporary of Tjokroaminoto, was deeply influenced by the latter's thoughts on the harmonious integration of Islam and socialism. The type of research used is literature research, with data sources from the study of books related to Islamic socialism by Tjokroaminoto and Agus Salim. The research results show that there are three types of Tjokro's thoughts towards Agus Salim that are used as the outline of the Sarekat Islam movement: the first is the freedom of the people, the second is equality, and the third is love for the homeland and anti-capitalism. Leadership is an interpretation of its people, according to the leadership philosophy taught by Agus Salim to his political disciple Kasman Singodimedjo. Therefore, leaders must prioritize the people's interests above all else, or "leadership is suffering”.

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education requires integrated academic data management to support efficient and accountable academic governance. However, many institutions still face challenges, including data fragmentation, limited access to information, and administrative inefficiencies. This study aims to develop and implement a web-based academic dashboard system to address these issues. The system was designed using a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach, consisting of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The system’s main features include a login menu, main menu, activity menu, report menu, and statistics menu, all of which support real-time integration of academic data. The study results show that this system can improve administrative efficiency by up to 73%, particularly in processes such as course registration, grade recap, and academic report preparation. A user satisfaction survey yielded an average score of 4.6 out of 5, with positive ratings for ease of use, data access speed, and information visualization. Furthermore, the report and statistics features enable analysis of academic performance, such as graduation rates and student grade point averages, thus supporting data-driven strategic decision-making. This system has also been proven to increase collaboration between departments by up to 35%, support transparency, and strengthen accountability in higher education governance. Implementing a web-based academic dashboard can be a strategic solution to improve the quality of academic data management in higher education. This system is expected to become a model that other institutions can adopt to address the challenges of the digital transformation era. However, intensive user training and regular system maintenance are required to ensure the system’s long-term sustainability and reliability.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as Islamic educational institutions require human resource management (HRM) that is in line with Islamic values. This study analyzes Islamic value-based HRM at the Salafiyah Asshoghiri Islamic Boarding School, focusing on the role of HR, challenges, planning, and evaluation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that HR management at this Islamic boarding school is centered on the values of Honesty–Prayer–Fear of the Forbidden, which form the basis for recruitment, training, and supervision. The main challenges include character incompatibility, variations in discipline, and environmental influences. HR planning is carried out selectively and value-oriented, while continuous evaluation integrates behavioral observation and moral consistency. This model offers an effective approach to character building and institutional strengthening based on Islamic values.
