Abstract

Reality therapy is a system that is focused on current behavior, it is to help counselees face reality and fulfill basic needs without harming themselves or other individuals. In group counseling with the reality therapy approach the most important thing is to foster responsibility and awareness of the counselee. Basically humans are beings who are responsible for their own behavior and fulfillment of their needs. Emphasis on what group members do is the key to reality as a counseling group.

Abstract

Pendekatan teoretik dalam Konseling dengan menggunakan Pendekatan behavioristic banyak mendapatkan kritik tetapi sekaligus  juga memberikan dukungan. Kritik yang ditujukan kepada pendekatan behavioristik difokuskan pada carapandang terhadap manusia yang berimplikasi pada teknik-teknik konseling yangdigunakan. Perkembangan pendekatan behavioristik kontemporer berusaha untukmenempatkan manusia dalam dimensi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan konsep tentang manusiapada awal kemunculan behavioristik. Oleh karena itu pendekatan behavioristik menjadi salahsatuunggulan pendekatan yang masih dominan dalam konseling dan psikoterapi. Perkembangan selanjutnya pendekatan ini memiliki pengaruh dominanasi besar dalam target konseling untukmencapaiperubahan pikiran, perasaan dan perilaku.

Abstract

This study discusses guidance and counseling accountability in schools so that school counselors can demonstrate their duties as instrumental personnel in achieving optimal student competencies. One model of accountability activities is the MEASURE model developed by Stone and Dahir (2016), as a six-step accountability process that helps school counselors to implement a component of accountability into counseling and guidance programs. The advice in this study is for school counselors to conduct In-Service Training to help them improve their skills in accountability.

Abstract

Keharmonisan keluarga adalah sesuatu yang bermakna dan diusahakan untuk dicapai oleh mereka yang melakukan perkawinan dan membentuk keluarga. Kesadaran peran dan fungsi serta menerima keadaan dan keberadaan menjadi pondasi yang kuat dalam menjalankan rumah tangga. Dalam mewujudkan rumah tangga yang harmonis sering terjadi fenomena problematika dalam keluarga seperti pertengkaran, cemburu, perselingkuhan, perbedaaan pendapatan, perbedaan prinsip hidup dan sampai pada tindakan mengakhiri pernikahan atau bercerai. Problematika yang terjadi di dalam kehidupan rumah tangga harus segera di selesaikan agar keharmonisan keluarga tetap terjaga dan terwujud. Konseling keluarga dengan pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) digunakan sebagai proses intervensi terhadap masalah yang menggangu keharmonisan keluarga. Konseling keluarga dengan pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) dalam mewujudkan keharmonisan keluarga meliputi konsep keharmonisan keluarga, konseling keluarga, pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).

Abstract

This study is concerned with the presence of BK teachers who have no educational background in guidance and counseling. They are appointed by the principal because they are deemed to be and come from educational and non-educational graduates with little teaching hours. This certainly has an impact on the quality of the implementation of guidance and counseling services in schools. This study aims: (1) to reveal and describe the implementation of guidance and counseling services by BK teachers; (2) differences in the implementation of guidance and counseling services classical format reviewed from the background SI BK and Non BK; (3) differences in the implementation of classical guidance counseling and counseling services in terms of working period of <16 years and ? 16 years; (4) the interaction of education background and working period of BK teacher in providing guidance and counseling service of classical format.This research uses quantitative method with comparative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were all BK teachers with BK and Non BK BK Sijunjung who numbered 32 people. The instruments used are Likert model scale with 0.965 realib and 0.507 validity (implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling service). Data were analyzed by using variance analysis technique (ANOVA).The result of data analysis shows: 1) the implementation of guidance and counseling service of the classical format given by the teacher of education background S1 and Non BK with working period <16 years and ? 16 years are in high category, and the average score of implementation of guidance and counseling service of classical format same category. 2) there is no significant difference in the background of BK and Non BK S1 education. 3) there is no significant difference in the implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling services in terms of working period of <16 years and ? 16 years. 4) there is no significant interaction between the education background score and the working period of the BK teacher towards the implementation of classical counseling guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

The social adjustment as a process of adjustment to takes place in a sustainable. In their life, a person will be confronted with two realities that is self and their surroundings. Foster children that break the rules of orphanage, irresponsible, and unable to communicate well is indicative of the low social adjustment. REBT looked that the inability of individuals in interpersonal relationship resulting from irrational thinking. One of the efforts made to improve social adjustment is by doing REBT approach.  This research was aimed at revealing the effectiveness of REBT approach in improving foster care social adjustment. This research is a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. By using Simple Random Sampling technique. The class consisted of 10 students the treatment was given in 6 meetings. The instrument was a scale model of Likert. Data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test assisted with SPSS versi 20.00. The result indicates that, in general, REBT approach Setting Group was effective in improving the social adjustment of foster children in orphanages Wira Lisna Padang. Meanwhile, in particular, there was a significant differences in the average scores between the social adjustment foster children before and after doing REBT approach Setting Group.

Abstract

The learning process in university level is quite different from the former education levels so that the students need to be adapted to. The students, in fact, were still unaccustomed to the learning style, unserious and frequently absent from the class, did not do assignment as they were required, and did not submit the tasks on the time they were due. This research was intended to describe the students’ learning style and learning skill and its implication in Guidance and Counseling service. This research could be classified into descriptive study. The population of the research was 1021 students in the Faculty of Education of UNP. By using purposive random sampling technique and Taro Yamane formula, 287 students were taken as the sample. The instrument of the research was the scale of Likert model. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage technique. The correlation between learning style and learning outcomes was tested by using Chi Square, and correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes was tested by using Spearman Rank Correlation.  The results of the research revealed that: (1) the learning style dominantly applied by the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was visual learning style which was used by 49.13% students, (2) the learning skill of the students of the Faculty of Education of UNP was in average category (68.18%), (3) there was a significant correlation between learning style and learning outcomes, and (4) there was a significant correlation between learning skill and learning outcomes. The implication of these research findings toward Guidance and Counseling Service was it was necessary to cooperate with other related parties to optimize the students’ learning style, learning skill and  learning outcomes.

Abstract

The phenomenon found in the field when students are given assignments, they will complain a lot. Counseling technique course I is a course that has many lectures.This article aims to describe academic stress level of students of Guidance and Counseling who are taking Counseling Technique Course I. It is seen from the emotional, intellectual, physical, and interpersonal symptoms. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with the subject of 104 students. Data were collected using an academic stress scale. The results of the study reveal the level of academic stress of the students of the Guidance and Counseling Department who are taking the subjects of Counseling Technique I viewed from: (1) emotional symptoms (2) intellectual symptoms (3) physical symptoms, and (4) interpersonal symptoms are in the medium category. Of the 17 existing academic stress indicators, only one indicator is in the low category. The results of this study are important to provide input for students, lecturers in Counseling Technique I, and academic counselor in order to help reduce student academic stress level.

Abstract

Problems in the family become an issue that is always discussed in the development of psychological science and counseling. The family as a place to protect, be compassionate, build themselves up for its members often causes many problems. The problem is related to interactions between family members so that it causes conflict. This paper was written using the literature review method. The findings show that interactions that occur within families vary and are prone to conflict. So it is very important for family counseling to handle and develop a family to become a healthy and harmonious family.

Abstract

This research were to see the difference between learning motivation of students in the experimental group taught by applying group guidance service through understanding the verses of Alquran in pretest and posttest, the difference between learning motivation of the students in the experimental group taught by applying group guidance service throught understanding the verses of Alquran and that of the students in the countrol group taught by applying group guidance service without understanding the verses of  Alquran in pretest and posttest, and the difference between learning motivation of the students in the  experimental group guidance services throught understanding the verses of a Alquran and that of students in the control group guidance taught by applying group guidance service throught understanding the verses of Alquran. This research aplied pretest posttest control group design. Throught this research, the researcher gave a pretest to both sample groups. They then got different treatment. After the  treatment was done, a posttest was administrated to both groups. This kind of eksperimental researches would ensure that the difference (if the result is different) occurs between the experimental group and the control group is as the influence of the treatment given. The resesarch findings indicated that learning motivation of the students taught by applying group guidance service throught understanding the verses of Alquran increased.
