Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low understanding of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly on natural resources material, due to the use of conventional teaching methods and limited learning media. This research aims to develop a diorama-based learning media using coconut fiber and to determine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students’ learning outcomes. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 106163 Bandar Klippa with 25 fourth-grade students as the subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results showed that the developed diorama media was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation, including material experts (86%), test experts (85%), media experts (86%), and education practitioners (94.6%). The media was also considered practical for classroom use. In terms of effectiveness, there was a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, indicated by an increase in the average pretest score from 46.46 to 79.3 in the posttest, and learning mastery improved from 16% to 100%. In conclusion, the coconut fiber-based diorama learning media is feasible, practical, and highly effective in improving elementary school students’ learning outcomes on natural resources material.

Abstract

Desa Ciwaruga di Kabupaten Bandung Barat menghadapi tantangan serius dalam pengelolaan sampah organik, terutama akumulasi sampah daun yang melimpah akibat luasnya tutupan lahan hijau. Metode penanganan konvensional seperti pembakaran dan penimbunan menimbulkan dampak negatif berupa polusi udara dan pencemaran tanah. Permasalahan ini menjadi semakin mendesak dengan adanya kebijakan pemerintah yang akan melarang pembuangan sampah organik ke Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) mulai tahun 2025, sehingga menuntut adanya solusi pengelolaan mandiri di tingkat komunal. Sebagai respons, dilaksanakan program implementasi teknologi tepat guna melalui pengembangan dan penyerahan mesin pencacah daun dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan masyarakat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terwujudnya sepuluh unit mesin pencacah yang efektif mengubah sampah daun menjadi serpihan berukuran seragam untuk diolah menjadi kompos. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan serah terima yang dihadiri oleh 35 perwakilan masyarakat menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan kesiapan komunitas untuk mengadopsi teknologi ini. Implementasi mesin pencacah ini tidak hanya menyediakan solusi teknis, tetapi juga berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran serta kapasitas masyarakat untuk mengelola limbah secara mandiri, sekaligus membuka potensi ekonomi dalam kerangka ekonomi sirkular tingkat desa.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a chronic health problem characterized by a child's height being lower than their age standard, often caused by poor nutritional intake and recurrent infections. This research focuses on stunting prevention through Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) with a community empowerment approach. Research Methodology: This type of research is observational analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of mothers under five who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The intervention was carried out by providing education through digital-based KIE media, developed using the Borg & Gall model. Result: The analysis showed a significant improvement in the knowledge and attitude of mothers under five after the intervention. Before the intervention, 74% of mothers had low knowledge about stunting, but after the intervention, this figure dropped to 2%, with 98% of mothers having good knowledge. The mother's attitude also increased from 2% good to 96% good after the intervention. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.001 for knowledge and 0.005 for attitude, showing a significant influence of KIE media on stunting prevention. Conclusion: The provision of digital-based KIE with a community empowerment approach has proven to be effective in increasing the knowledge and attitude of mothers under five towards stunting prevention. Implementing KIE is expected to be a sustainable strategy to support the national program in reducing stunting rates. Further research is suggested to compare the effectiveness between the intervention and control groups.

Abstract

This study addresses the low level of students’ creativity in mathematics learning, particularly in geometry, caused by conventional teaching methods that limit exploration and active participation. The purpose of this research is to determine students’ creativity before and after the implementation of the Tangram game and to analyze its effect on students’ creativity in mathematics learning. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population and sample consisted of 20 fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 050688 Sawit Seberang. Data were collected using creativity tests covering fluency, flexibility, and originality aspects. Data analysis techniques included the Wilcoxon test and N-Gain score. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ creativity after the implementation of the Tangram game, indicated by the Wilcoxon test results where the significance value was less than 0.05 (p < 0.05). Additionally, the average N-Gain score of 55.99% was categorized as moderate, indicating that the Tangram game was sufficiently effective in enhancing students’ creativity. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Tangram game has a significant effect on students’ creativity in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental component of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction at the senior high school level. However, reading lessons in many classrooms remain predominantly teacher-centered, providing limited opportunities for collaborative meaning construction. This study aims to explore the implementation of the Make a Match technique in teaching reading comprehension and to examine students’ responses during the learning process. The study employed a qualitative case study design conducted in an eleventh-grade class at MA Darul Lughah Wal Karomah. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis followed the interactive model proposed by Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings show that the implementation of the Make a Match technique occurred through several stages: lesson introduction, preparation of card-matching activities, cooperative interaction during the matching process, and confirmation or reflection. Students’ responses were observed in three forms of engagement: behavioral engagement, cognitive engagement, and affective involvement. The findings indicate that the technique organizes classroom interaction through structured cooperative activities that encourage students to engage with reading texts collaboratively. This study contributes a process-oriented understanding of how cooperative learning structures shape interaction and student engagement in EFL reading classrooms.

Abstract

Langkah-langkah pengajaran sejarah kebudayaan islam di kelas IX MTs Darussalam masih mengandalkan metode ceramah tradisional yang cenderung kurang bervariasi, terjadi satu arah, dan tidak mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa. Guru sebagian besar menyampaikan materi secara lisan, menyebabkan siswa hanya berfungsi sebagai penerima informasi. Situasi ini dapat memicu hilangnya perhatian, meningkatnya kebosanan, dan hambatan dalam memahami materi sejarah yang abstrak, termasuk urutan kronologis, kontribusi tokoh, dan latar belakang peristiwa. Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk mengkaji dan memaparkan pemanfaatan media digital dalam proses pembelajaran, menilai tingkat efektivitasnya dalam membangun suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, serta menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah media digital diterapkan. Pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan digunakan dalam penelitian ini pada jenjang sekolah  MTs Darussalam, dusun Sukorejo, desa Srimulyo. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 21 siswa kelas IX. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes yang diberikan kepada siswa. Hasil pelaksanaan Siklus II menunjukkan bahwa menggunakan media digital membantu siswa memahami materi. Pada pembahasan subbab Sunan Gersik, 17 siswa atau 80,95%, mencapai nilai di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM), yang mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar pada siswa.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of interactive web quizzes to student engagement in English language learning at Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL). Using a descriptive qualitative case study design, data were collected through six classroom observations, interviews with one teacher and eight students, and documentation. The findings reveal three dimensions of engagement: behavioral (32 coded excerpts), emotional (28 excerpts), and cognitive (24 excerpts). Behavioral engagement emerged as the most dominant, indicated by increased participation and attentiveness during quiz-based activities. Emotional engagement was reflected in students’ motivation and enjoyment, while cognitive engagement was demonstrated through reflective thinking and attention to feedback. Overall, the results suggest that interactive web quizzes can support active and meaningful learning, although minor challenges such as time pressure and competitive elements were identified. These findings highlight the potential of digital quizzes as an inclusive and engaging instructional strategy in multicultural EFL classrooms.

Abstract

This article examines a comparative analysis of the metaphysical concepts of Imam al-Ghazālī and Seyyed Hossein Nasr by highlighting the fundamental similarities and differences in their thought. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, drawing on major scholarly books and relevant academic journal articles. The findings indicate that both al-Ghazālī and Nasr position God as the Absolute Reality and reject materialistic views of reality. Al-Ghazālī developed his metaphysical framework within the context of classical Islamic thought to harmonize theology, philosophy, and Sufism while safeguarding doctrinal orthodoxy. Meanwhile, Nasr formulates metaphysics as a critique of modernity through the concepts of scientia sacra, the hierarchy of being, and the sacredness of nature. Differences in historical context lead to variations in intellectual orientation; however, both thinkers affirm that Islamic metaphysics carries significant epistemological, ethical, and spiritual implications. This article concludes that the metaphysical ideas of al-Ghazālī and Nasr are complementary in demonstrating the enduring relevance of Islamic metaphysics in addressing religious and human challenges across different eras
