Abstract

This research is motivated by English language learning, especially at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level, which has not been effective in improving students' speaking skills. Various factors, such as the use of inappropriate learning methods, lack of facilities, and lack of student motivation, cause this. English language learning is an important aspect of education, especially in the era of globalization, which demands international communication skills. This study aims to analyze English learning management in improving students' speaking skills at MTs Nurul Jalal and MTs Khairul Ummah North Jakarta. This research is based on the philosophy of constructivism, which emphasizes the importance of the role of students in constructing knowledge through direct experience, as well as education management theory, which involves the processes of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The research method used is a qualitative case study, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. Respondents consisted of teachers, principals, and students in both MTs. The results showed that learning planning in these two madrasahs is quite good. However, its implementation still requires adjustments, especially in the organization of time and the use of learning media. Obstacles faced include limited facilities such as language laboratories and students' lack of confidence in communicating using English. Nevertheless, improvement efforts such as teacher training and the use of digital technology are starting to overcome these problems. This study concludes that effective learning management, with support from all school elements, can improve students' speaking skills. There is a need for synergy between teachers, principals, and educational policies that are more supportive of the development of language competencies, especially students' speaking skills in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Leadership management in educational units plays a crucial role in enhancing educational quality, particularly within Islamic education contexts where leaders must integrate spiritual values with professional development. School principals are required to motivate and guide educators to maximize their potential by actualizing the teaching-learning process through Islamic principles of amanah (trustworthiness), tawhid (unity), and qiwamah (stewardship). One effective approach educators can utilize to enhance learning quality is conducting classroom action research (CAR). However, the implementation of leadership in Islamic educational settings requires a contextually-sensitive approach that aligns with both Islamic values and modern pedagogical principles. School principals face difficulties maximizing educators' professional abilities if the management approach implemented does not align with the school environment and Islamic educational philosophy. This research aims to discover the leadership management approaches of school principals in increasing teacher quality through classroom action research within an Islamic education framework. Researchers employed a qualitative research paradigm with a case study approach. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation. The sample consisted of 10 Islamic teachers selected through purposive sampling, including the school principal, supervisors, and Islamic teachers. Data analysis utilized three steps: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicated: (1) The school principal's leadership management is applied proportionally through an Islamic values-based collaborative model that integrates spiritual leadership with pedagogical supervision; (2) The school principal believes that classroom action research serves as a transformative approach aligned with Islamic principles of continuous improvement (istiqamah) and knowledge pursuit (thalab al-'ilm); (3) The TAGI (Take and Give) model, rooted in Islamic reciprocity principles, is applied to realize and maximize educator professionalism, thereby enabling the achievement of learning objectives and superior accreditation for the educational unit.

Abstract

Abstract

Academic burnout is a significant issue that can hinder students' motivation to learn, particularly in educational institutions with intense activities such as SMA Plus Pagelaran, which implements a pesantren-based school system. The dense series of learning and pesantren activities, long routines requiring high focus, and ongoing academic pressures encourage the emergence of symptoms of emotional exhaustion, decreased interest in learning, and low student engagement in the learning process. This situation indicates the need for structured prevention planning to maintain students' psychological well-being and motivation to learn. This study aims to identify the forms of academic burnout experienced by students, examine the prevention planning strategies developed by the school, and explain how these strategies impact learning motivation. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research findings indicate that students experience academic burnout in the form of emotional exhaustion, boredom with routines, difficulty maintaining focus, and weak learning motivation. To address this, SMA Plus Pagelaran developed a prevention plan that included rearranging the school-pesantren schedule, implementing activity-based learning, strengthening preventive counseling, and providing interest and talent programs as a means of refreshing students. This planning contributes significantly to increasing learning motivation, as seen from the increased enthusiasm, participation, and readiness of students to participate in academic activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the infaq-based independent education financing model and its implications for learning quality at MTs Al-Fatah, Bandung Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and document studies. The research subjects consisted of school principals, treasurers, teachers, school committees, parents, and students. The results showed that MTs Al-Fatah has implemented an infaq-based financing model since 2022 with a flat rate of IDR 25,000 per month per student. Fund allocation consists of 40% for operational needs, 40% for uncovered honorarium from BOS funds, and 20% for infrastructure maintenance. This financing model has a positive impact on learning quality as evidenced by an increase in student-book ratio from 0 in 2020 to 1 per subject in 2024, improvement in teacher qualifications from 70% S1 in 2020 to 90% S1 in 2024, and student satisfaction reaching 95/100. The collectibility rate reaches 90% with high parent satisfaction. This study concludes that infaq-based financing models can be an alternative solution for madrasah financial independence while maintaining learning quality and community trust.

Abstract

The improvement of the quality of early childhood education is not only determined by the pedagogical and professional abilities of teachers, but also by personality competencies that play an important role in creating a safe, comfortable, and meaningful learning environment for children. Early childhood education teachers are required to have emotional stability, patience, integrity, exemplary attitude, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. However, conditions in the field show that the implementation of academic supervision in many PAUD units is still administrative. Supervision is more focused on the implementation of school programs and learning assessments, while the personal needs and personality development of teachers are often not the main concerns. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of academic supervision by school principals in improving the personality competence of PAUD teachers through a deep learning approach. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a constructivist paradigm and was conducted as a case study at Ceria Children's Family Planning, Bandung. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that (1) Academic supervision that is carried out in a planned, humanistic, and sustainable manner can strengthen teachers' personality competencies; (2) The application of deep learning principles in supervision encourages teachers to reflect on themselves, manage emotions, increase a sense of responsibility, and develop a professional attitude in learning. This approach is in line with humanistic theory that emphasizes the development of individual potential through support, empathy, and positive appreciation for teachers. The conclusion of the study is that the implementation of academic supervision of school principals can improve the personality competence of PAUD teachers in the context of deep learning. Therefore, academic supervision needs to be carried out consistently with a more humanist approach in order to support the development of the personality of PAUD teachers in a sustainable manner.
